Quality Eats Nomad
Came here for Valentine’s Day with my hubby. Food was prepared quickly. Most importantly, after a rocky start with our first waiter (unfortunately), we were hooked up with an Incredible waiter, and honestly, I had one of the best experiences at a restaurant ever... he was really really attentive, but not in an annoying way as that can happen at some places. Can’t say enough good things about him. Just wish I remembered his name. Also the food was great — we were pleaseed with our filet mignons. WIll be back. Thanks all!
No complaints at all.
Service and food were great. It was my first time (of many to come). Really enjoyed our meal. Thanks for everything!
Good to see 'lesser' steaks on the menu which are actually the tastiest cuts although a bit tougher. Decent versions of bavette and hanger. Wasn't a huge fan of the 'cacio e pepe' orzo which I think was designed to be a twist on the classic mac' n' cheese. I love cacio e pepe made classically with spaghetti and I love mac' n' cheese but this was more like a cheese fondue with the orzo not providing any texture. Service was friendly and not overbearing. If you're looking for a classic NY steakhouse experience, this isn't it but if you want to try something different, it's decent
Not great. Service was atrocious - slow and rude. Cute place. Food decent but not stellar. Better places around than this.
I booked somewhere else for my husband’s birthday which was almost a disaster! Got a last minute table here and am SO happy I did! Friendly service from the moment we walked in. Very attentive, great drinks at the bar, seated before our reservation time and enjoyed a great meal with great service!
It was a work dinner and we have never felt so rushed to finish our meal. I understand that the restaurant wants to turn tables but it was VERY apparent. We had drinks taken away twice when they were not done. One dessert was taken before it was done. We had to stop bussers a few times that we were not done with our food and drink. Someone who looked like a manager also brought our check before we even asked and came by 2x to see if we put our cards down. Our server on the other hand was friendly and helpful. The food was tasty. But our overall dining experience is completely ruined bc of the rest of the staff trying to rush us out. I wouldn’t recommend to others just for this reason.
Our waiter was awesome - super accomodating and very personable - he usually works dinner shift but got called in to do lunch for restaurant week.
the wedge salad was unreal - almost a meal unto itself. burger was messy but very tasty.
better than expected for large groups (we were 10), which is usually a disaster no matter where you go
The host seated our party of 5 at the very first booth on the side. The side booth has a half circle shaped table and it was tight squeezing 5 in there. Would not recommend taking that table for any party of 5 or more. The sides does not indicate any being spicy and that is very upsetting since none of us can handle spice. we end up not eating much. The steaks where all charred black at the outside and too bloody red on the inside. Food was just terrible. Waitress was moderate. Space was nice.
Decent addition to neighborhood. A bit pricey. But nice atmosphere. Food was good.
We were seated 30 mins late. slow service. Clearly overbooked and overwhelmed. I had a better experience at the one in the WV
It was very busy when we arrived and, despite, having a reservation, we weren't received very well by the host. He was not friendly or warm at all.
He was also very unapologetic about our table not being ready on time and directed us to the bar to wait but it was so busy that it was hard to get served and we might as well have been waiting somewhere else. In this situation (when you have to wait 20 minutes for your table) the least the restaurant can do is buy you a drink!
Once we did sit down - the food was great but the service average. The waiter could have up-sold us much more alcohol but didn't really pay us much attention.
Great space and I love everything the 'Quality' group does but the overall experience missed the mark a little.
Great service and staff. Food was very tasty
Food was very good, service left much to be desired.
There was a huge vein in one of the steaks it was basically inedible
Our first visit to this location. Neat-looking, somewhat roomy, friendly host and staff. The wedge salads were dynamite, as was the green goddess salmon. Shrimp ceviche and bavette steak were also tasty. The ice cream benefited from a few minutes of softening up. Big portions all around, from salad to dessert. And they have that great thing where you can mix and match three wines to get about one bottle's worth.
The hamburger, sorry to say, was disappointing. You would do well to try anything else here, but go somewhere else for your burger -- I expected something special and it just wasn't.
We were there Super Bowl night, a very quiet Sunday. Considering how few tables there were, I am surprised how difficult it was, on more than one occasion, to get the attention of the service staff.
Second time here. Service has been excellent each time and the food at brunch was delicious!
Waiter got the order wrong twice and wanted to charge us $8 for 3 tiny pieces of bread, not even slices... my food came out right (kind of) after my husband was done with his food! All I got was my coffee for free...too bad bc we like Quality meats and Italian
Hectic staff, poor service, mediocre food. The staff provided us with a free drink because of the long wait (we had reservations) but the restaurant was poorly managed overall.
I wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone. The host & hostess were rude right from the start when I checked in. We had to wait 15 min for our table when there were MANY empty tables for two available. The host told me to stand away from the host stand until my table was ready, but then a group of 6 guys came in and they were allowed to ‘loiter’ by the host stand. We saw the water guy more than we saw our waiter. When we did order our food, I requested no fries w/ my steak & ordered a side of broccoli. He automatically said no substitutions! Wasn’t trying to argue in the guy. & when did the restaurant get rid of the individual sticky toffee pudding? Why only for a group now? Stupid mistake! The ice creams aren’t that great! They had a large party coming in after us & the host was literally hanging by our table staring at us waiting for us to leave. My friend finally said, do you need our table? And he bluntly said YES! He was making us so uncomfortable, we finally got the hint! He started clearing our table as I was putting my coat on. Never felt so disrespected! I will only go to the original location from now on. So disappointed!!!
We love Quality Eats Nomad very much. Our only complaint is the staff needs to be trained a bit on how to be less obvious about how anxious they are to turn the tables. I understand Saturday night is a critical night for restaurants and turn over is important but we got there for an early reservation and our waitress was not subtle about wanting us to hurry it up. We also really miss Freeman, he was a great host. I swear i am not intending to bash the staff or the restaurant at ALL we still love it here and plan to come back. I just wanted to be honest about that one sticking point.
Fantastic pre-theatre brunch on a cold winter Saturday. We were greeted warmly and enjoyed a quiet, relaxing meal. Food was excellent, service was superb. Would highly recommend and put on my list of places to return to.
Good bistro type cooking. Wedge salad and chicken dishes were quite good, as was the fish dish. Noise level was quite high. Most annoying was the fact that our reservations took a 38 minutes wait! No complementary glass of wine to sooth the nerves. Not what one would expect from a Quality Branded restaurant.
Food was all wrong. I do appreciate that the host (manager?) tried to make it right.
Restaurant over cooked the steak and burned it then instead of removing it from the final bill they gave us a 9 dollar free desert because they did not wanted to remove the 50 dollar steak from final bill. I tried talking to the waiter and then the manager said not too remove it. It took a third try after me personally talking to the manager to tell him to remove the steak from the bill. He did remove it but he bumped the price of the wine and charged for the desert that we didn’t wanted in the first place making basically the same price as if the steak was included
I was a little nervous heading here last Friday-- I saw a lot of recent really bad reviews on OpenTable and Yelp about long waits and bad service. I almost canceled my reservation, but I'm glad that I didn't. I am guessing the owners/ managers also noticed the bad reviews and made sure to make a change. The host wasn't especially friendly, but all of the bussers were great and our waiter, Marc G was excellent. We were seated as soon as our full party arrived.
Most of the food was excellent-- highlights being the salmon, steak, creamed corn brulee and s'mores ice cream! You can skip the creamed spinach hushpuppies.
Cocktails were also fun-- even a few refreshing mocktails were available, but not on the menu.
Great space, really beautiful and nicely decorated, high ceilings.
I would definitely go back.
Was recommended by a friend who lives in NYC. The ambience was good but food was mediocre at best. Overpriced for quality of food.
Staff was inconsistent. Our waiter was lovely but host was nasty and almost wouldn't seat us. Food is delicious and this is still a great.place to visit
Service was awful. Took forever to take our order and get our good. Steak was not cooked properly to order at our table or the one next to ours.
Restaurant week menu was subpar at best!
Even with a reservation, still waited for almost an hour, but after finally got to the table, everything was fine, service was excellent without being annoying, and was there for Restaurant Week, and was good value. Left feeling satisfied, not stuffed.
Obsessed with the S'mores dessert! The graham cracker cookie on top was unreal. The restaurant is really beautiful and I thought the arrangements were comfortable although they were super busy. Service was just okay and I didn't love the way my steak was cooked (a little too rare, more black and blue than medium rare).
Their service was poor, at best. The table of 8 finally parted ways at 9:30 and the reservation was for 6:15 PM--that is how slow the service was.
We were a table of 8 for restaurant week and we actually lost two people before dessert because of the slowness of service. They said they only had one of the dessert options available, and we asked if we could simply split a larger dessert off the regular menu given the shortage of options and losing two people anyway. Despite a perfectly reasonable request, they spent 20 minutes discussing the possibility of accommodating, denied it, and then took another 20 minutes to deliver everything. Honestly some of the slowest and most unwavering rigidity I've ever seen in the service industry.
First of all, the manager interrupted our conversation asking to confirm the name on the reservation AFTER we had already sat down (he asked when we came in as well). Funny enough, even after this double-confirmation, I still received an email from Open Table saying I missed my reservation. Then, the same manager booted us out after 2 hours. I have not had that happen to me ever! Oh, and no one even offered to check our coats. The food was fine and the ambience too but, overall, there are plenty of places in Manhattan that would have been more enjoyable.
Very disappointing service. Waited for over an hour for our food. Sat in the front and the door opening made it frigid!
I had been there once for a late lunch and it was so calm and quiet. Went for dinner and it was a bit too loud for catching up with a friend I hadn't seen in a long time (we're middle aged...). But the service was wonderful and the food delish.
Our experience was horrible. We actually had to walk out before even being served. We were seated, got our menus and still 30mins later the waiter hadn’t even taken our drinks menu. Then, a family sitting next to us that was seated AFTER us was being waited on before we were. We explained this to this same waiter and he still did not take our order first. We decided eating there was not worth the horrible service and so we left.
We waited about 15 mins to be seated even when we made the reservation. The restaurant was packed, crowded loud, and chaotic (with tables and chairs literally being side to side to other tables). After being seated, the servers took forever on noticing us and taking the other or even offering water (some neighboring tables left the restraurant bc they got tired/frustrated of waiting). We probably sat waiting for about 30 minutes. The staff in general were extremely slow and were not organized. They started taking the order after noticing that some tables has started to step out of frustration.
Our reservation was at 1:15 and we came out of the restaurant around 4:00. The food itself was good but the service was the worst out of all the places that I have been in nyc.
So we brought 2 one year old babies and they were awesome about that! My baby walked around the whole restaurant and said hello to 15 strangers LOL.
There was NO a read for the kids or adults which was slightly odd. The LA eggs were not exciting at all but the pancakes were great’
I suggest you guys have a bread basket and or so little bites pre- brunch. We mommas would love that! ♥️
