Omg! The food here is so delicious. Olivia took care of us and she brought it!! Friendly and knowledgeable. Cheese platter was the perfect way to start. I had the pork chop and I don’t think I’ve ever had a pork chop that delicious in my life (I’m fat af, I eat a lot of pork chops) and we capped it off with a yummy milkshake. I basically had to roll myself home. Can’t wait to eat all the other delicious things at Quaintrelle!!
Had the chef tasting. The variety was great and the quality was superb.
Lovely dinner despite it being very cold and drafty in the restaurant. The lighting was also brighter than the time of day warranted. Highlights for us were the prawns and the gem lettuce salad. All presentations were beautiful, just not all dishes seasoned to our liking. Would have liked more choices of protein. Server was professional yet distant. Regardless, we love Quaintrelle and look forward to returning.
We asked to split the chefs tasting and ended up being charged for 2 instead.
After staying at the Abbey Roads Farm silo BnB in Carlton and having such a great time, we gave Quaintrelle a try. The food at Quaintrelle was very good. The octopus was world class! We were in luck to have Jackalope Winery tasting flight with our dinner.
We came Saturday evening for a date night. Hostess was great, server not very personable (visited neighboring table 3x before coming to check on us). Even though website says no kids there was a child about 2yo running around the tables. Food was amazing but a bit pricey. I was still hungry when I got home so I made a 2nd dinner. It was also very cold and loud - bring a jacket and ear plugs lol.
Sat on the upstairs balcony for our anniversary dinner. Food was exceptional, service was spot on, wine was great, overall an awesome and wonderful experience. We will be back!
Nice local eatery with seasonal menu and efficient service. Great for light dinner pre show
The staff was so courteous and kind when it came to recommendations and explanations of the menu. The food was incredible and the plating was attractive. I will return.
It was our anniversary and we were greeted with lovely glasses of cava by our waiter! So special and nice!! Everything was delicious and yummy and unique combinations of flavors. Best food I have had in a long time!! Thank you!!
Good salad, the eggplant dish was too soaked in sauce. The Rockfish was good but waiting 1 hr to have it serve was not worth it.
Horrible service tonight . Disappointing
The food was outstanding. Small plates of exceptionally prepared cuisine. If you are looking for huge portion this is not your place. But if you are looking for adequate volume of very unique and delicious food this is the place for you. Wine list was OK. Could use some work on the pricing tiers.
What a special treat! Our table did the 5-course chef’s menu. Because there were six of us, we got to try nearly everything on the menu. So many amazing dishes! It’s a lovely place and the service was attentive and helpful with suggestions. Overall, a fantastic dinner! We will definitely go back again.
Fabulous as always! Many people don’t know about this wonderful, unpretentious place but they should. A real neighborhood gem.
I came here on a last-minute reservation with 8 coworkers and was truly impressed by the restaurant’s ability to accommodate a group of our size and our array of dietary needs. The food was incredible - fascinating combinations, quality local ingredients and perfect execution. Every staff member we interacted with was welcoming and helpful. Thank you so much for a memorable evening!
This place is exquisite! The food is unique and some of the best combinations and presentations we’ve seen anywhere. You have to come here and eat.
This neighborhood gem keeps getting better and better. Some of the best food anywhere in Portland in an unpretentious and welcoming setting. Menu is very vegetable heavy but also has excellent seafood and meat. Everything is fresh and local and prepared thoughtfully and lovingly. The warmest and friendliest staff of anywhere we've been, both knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the food.
A wonderful dining experience!
Fabulous as always - service is great - food is sublime - Travis, the bartender is a national treasure (ask him for a Traszerac (the name we suggested he give the drink). We had HH Prawns, Baby squash and Pork as well as Beets, and Albacore - all divine. It was Thursday so there was live jazz (Brent Follis was a part of that group and he and it were fantastic. Cannot go wrong at Quaintrelle.
We loved the food. The flavors of the small plates were amazing and we'd go back just for them.
It's a little less casual than we'd planned for, but that turned out not to be an issue.
Overall, great unique spot. Highly recommend.
Excellent food , fresh ingrediente with a tăiat and doare, excelent servvice! For sure Will come back !
Very good food, excellent service, fresh ingredients. A gem
Loved everything about our dinner here. My husband and I each ordered the five course tasting menu and got a different dish for each course. Wow! I’ve never seen that before. We got the wine pairings, too, which were delicious (and primarily local). Food was fresh, interesting, beautifully prepared and delightfully presented. Can’t wait to go back
A HUGE THANK YOU TO Quaintrellepdx for treating my mom like a queen for her birthday! The food, cocktails, wine and service were outstanding! I was so lucky I was able to make a reservation after they had all come back from their NY trip for James Beard! I really appreciate all the details! ♥️
Quaintrelle never disappoints. The bounty of the northwest in summertime shown through and the waitress was a complete delight. We love this place. Thanks Quaintrelle!
Neat jazz band playing
The food is out of this world. The price is ... out of the ballpark. The menu has numbers written down but for the chef's choice, there's not a lot of words to explain how it works. It is, without a question, a PER PERSON price, even though you share the plates with a dining partner. Be forewarned. I had an amazing meal that was just stupendous, but the confusion over the price, despite asking about it at the beginning of the meal, ended up costing me a dinner that was twice as expensive as I was expecting.
Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Casual but the food is top notch. Was recommended to us by a winery in Newberg (et Filles) and they were right. Try the tasting menu it will amaze.
Wonderful menu which gets rotated so it's not always the same like some places do. The service is spot-on and the bartender has really great drinks. What is there not to like? One of my top places for celebrations.
The salmon shoulder and scallops were wonderfully seasoned and delicious. Our waitress was super helpful and knowledgeable and made for an overall great experience
One of the most amazing dining experiences! The food was incredible... every bite, the wine was a step above and the cocktails! The cocktails... were very impressive. Service and atmosphere were fantastic as well. I highly recommend Quaintrelle to anyone who appreciates a casual and friendly fine dining experience.
Seasonal French inspired food that is creative & served alongside beautiful cocktails in a charming yet modern setting. Great service, beautiful flowers. Great for dates & groups!
Super expérience. Bouffe de haute qualité par rapport au prix.
The food was good but the service was distracted and a bit aloof.
We had a celebratory dinner there on a Sunday. The restaurant has "Happy Hour" menu and prices all day Sunday and the final check was about $40/person including the tip. The dinner was superb. Our waitress was very knowledgeable on the menu and steered us into some perfect choices. The salmon collar and head fed 2 people happily. The veggie dishes were off the charts good. When the olive oil cake was not available, the waitress asked the kitchen to make a special dessert, which they did. Definitely above and beyond. Will eat there anytime we are in Portland on a Sunday!
A delightful experience from beginning to end! The service was wonderful. The food was bold and delicious as were the thoughtfully crafted cocktails.
We read the menu online before going. Though this was my husband's birthday pick, I thought it might be more pretentious than substantive and flavorful. While I would recommend a rewrite of the menu, I can't say enough about the food. We did the smaller of the two chef's tasting menus and brought along a special bottle from home. We should have brought a white or rose, but the chef rolled with it and made our beautiful Syrah shine as much as the food. Standout dishes were the oysters, the shrimp, both salmon dishes and the lovely sides (roasted fava beans were so good!) They make a lovely nocino, which I enjoyed with dessert. Go. Order the tasting menu and spend a little on their excellent cocktails. Thank me later.
What's not to like. Food was very good and beautifully presented. Staff was friendly, but knowledgeable and professional. Reasonably priced. Some entrees are on the small side so we added a vegetable entree for the two of us.
The chef's tasting menu with the wine pairing was a great decision! They accommodated my dietary restrictions very well. I will return and have already recommended this place to others.
Three of us for dinner. We each ordered small plates and then also ordered the pricey rib-eye plate ($48) to share as well. The "engineered" salads were the best part, very tasty and imaginative. The rib-eye was not worth the money. It was tasty enough, but way too fatty. Wine list is nice and reasonably priced. This place is good for special occasions.
The 5 dishes our group had (as well as the cocktails and dessert) were amazing .... and the service, top to bottom, was impeccable. Loved this place and will be back!
