Lovely and inventive dishes, especially the scallop. Yum!
Lovely well crated meal
Wait staff was great, particularly Sonia. Food temperature was inconsistent, taste was great.
Very good food and service on Portland Dining Month. Unfortunately the portions were a bit smaller than anticipated.
Always love Quaintrelle. The scallops in garlic butter were good, but the garlic butter was too strong and overpowered everything. Smoked beets—incredible! Dining Month—incredible! Cocktails—always top tier.
We went for Portland dining out month and the 3 courses were exquisite. We might go back at another time when we are in town again, probably on a Sunday when they have happy hour all day. In general it was a little expensive for us, but the food was so good, who cares?
Our experience at Quaintrelle was quite perfect. We enjoyed their Portland Dining Month menu for a birthday celebration and fell in love with every bite. They even surprised us with a delicious piece of flourless chocolate cake and a scoop of ice cream for the occasion, candle and all. The flavor combinations, presentation of the dishes, and even the moonshine punch...all so wonderful!
Exquisite - every little thing about our dining experience is covered by that word. We ordered from the PDM menu. For the 1st course we both chose the Oysters with pineapple mignonette, serrano, herb oil and charred lemon - sublime. There were two choices on every course so for the 2nd and 3rd courses we ordered both. 2nd: Hay-smoked butternut squash, onion soubise, pistachio verde, maple and foie gras and Melted leek and potato soup with seeds, crumbs and radish - again spectacular from the presentation, taste, texture every little detail exciting. 3rd: Ricotta dumplings with foraged winter mushrooms, smoked beet “bacon,” fiore sardo and garlic foam and Pork loin with turnip, braised cabbage and sauce aux truffes - every thing I said about the previous courses applies. This is one of the most exciting restaurants we have visited in Portland - and we are great fans of Portland dining and spirits. Run, don't walk to get there while PDM is still in progress.
Fabulous service, great options, unique and delicious food!
Pdx Dining Mo! And teaching my Aunt to get out of her comfort zone
Great ricotta dumplings!
#PortlandDiningMonth - had a great experience. We were the first seating and got a nice spot upstairs. We both got opposite choices for the dining month special. Everything was really good. The pork entree was a bit overwell but still tasty. Did the wine pairing with one of the sets and it accompanied the dish really well. I highly recommend this restaurant and its staff.
Another amazing meal,
Farm to table awesomeness! Great staffs, fantastic food, live music by the best musicians in town, and top wine selections, what more can we ask for? Always a wonderful experience at Quaintrelle.
The ambience was warm and inviting, the food was delicious and creative and the service was attentive and accommodating. Will definitely be back!
Went to hear the live music but was blown away by the food! It’s one of our new favorites from here on.
Wonderful dining experience. Delicious main course, drinks, and dessert. Beautiful space with great ambience.
We had the Portland Dining month offering paired with their recommended wines.
All of the courses were teriffic and displayed the chef's creativity to good effect.
Not our first time at this charming spot and certainly not our last.
Always amazing. One of our favorites in the area.
Food was amazing. Beautifully presented and the flavor delivered!! I’ll be back
We made reservations for our 20th anniversary dinner. I am gluten free and they accommodated us wonderfully. We had the chef's tasting dinner and all of the courses were unique, full of flavor and were a great value for the price. Thanks for such a great experience!
Loved loved loved the chefs menu and wine pairing.
Beautifully prepared small portions that all fell somewhat flat for the price tag.
What an amazing experience! Had a booking for a prix fixe experience on Valentine’s Day. Spoke with the restaurant the day of and let them know my partner has a seafood allergy and wanted to know if they could accommodate. Not only did they assure me it wouldn’t be an issue, the alternatives they offered were absolutely a home run! We both found the food delicious and adventurous! The setting was quiet and intimate, and the people were very pleasant and expert in their craft. Wonderful time, will go again!
The most interesting and beautifully done food in quite some time. More so than Paley's Place or Higgin's
Beautifully presented, almost every dish had some flavor or element I had never expereinced before. Great space, quite warm and chic.
Notable dishes included smoked scallops with yuzu, beats with whipped blue-cheeze, and fava greens with miso.
Very good values on the wine list too, great date spot!
We took our son out for his 23rd birthday. Our server, John, took excellent care of us, and made good dinner recommendations. The food was delicious—a fun menu for sharing. The evening was capped off with birthday dessert, which he wanted all for himself...it was that good!
Took my mom and her friends here for a birthday celebration. Can't believe it took me so long to try out Quaintrelle. Innovative but not fussy food served by knowledgeable staff who are long on food knowledge and short on attitude. Will definitely come again.
Server advises that the dishes are to be enjoyed "Family style" -- Ludicrous proposition: Onion soup in a shallow bowl with four spoons for the four of us at our table? Tiny, tiny portions, allowing each diner to get a single bite of some of the dishes, others more generous (tartar was delicious). Will not return, at least not with more than two diners at the table. Or ignore the recommendation that dishes be shared!
Excellent food, with emphasis on local ingredients and beautiful presentation. Serving staff was attentive and knowledgeable. The current chef is creative and thoughtful. A thoroughly enjoyable experience!
Very nice place that takes some looking to get to. Excellent tasting menu for the money.
Extremely nice setting with a wonderfully comforting vibe. Very friendly staff and excellent food throughout. Nothing was too heavy or over done. Just really good food.
Gotta love a restaurant that broadens your vocabulary! Seriously one of the best meals of my life. Diverse flavors and textures, creatively combined. Inspiring.
Very tasty food. We ate family style and share. Great service too.
Quaintrelle has amazing food! We shared the crab appetizer, Brussels sprouts, and some heavenly dumplings before the main entree which was a whole rock fish. Not only was every dish impressively plated, all were exquisitely well seasoned. I enjoy bringing out of town friends here to watch them get blown away by these local farm to table offerings. I remain impressed each time I have the occasion to dine at this epicurean establishment 💖
The quality of the preparation and the creativity of the dishes was marvelous. Not only was everything tasty but the blends of flavors were inspired. This place is trying to create a dining experience you won't forget.
We loved this restaurant and will certainly be back. Great staff, open kitchen, tasty cocktails.
Gianna was our incredible server. She made amazing recommendations for dishes to share and was mindful of every aspect of our dining experience. The food itself was a sensory experience from the visual presentation to the unusual tastes and textures. We will be back...this is our new favorite Portland restaurant.
This was a lovely find on Mississippi. The space is small and cozy. The wait staff very nice and attentive and helpful. We tried 5 small plates and each one was imaginative and tasty, although we certainly had our favorites. I loved that the menu changed seasonally so everything is always so fresh.
The chocolate dessert was outstanding and a perfect end to the meal.
I will go again to Quaintrelle.
