Qespi Restaurant at the JW Marriott Cusco
Very special atendent, a good food, very Nice place. I recomend!
Great food and ambience, but a little bit expensive in comparison with other restaurants en the town.
The food was fantastic and service was even better. Everyone went out of their way to make sure our experience was first rate. I would recommend this restaurant, as well as the hotel, to anyone.
Excellent food and service! The salmon was as good if not better than in the best restaurants of NYC. Their martinis were surprisingly good.
El ambiente estuvo muy agradable, la comida deliciosa y la atención de Marcela fue de lo mejor. Volvería nuevamente.
Lovely! Ambiance and decor is fantastic. I tried the black quinoa and the langostino salad (careful if you don’t like spicy). Interesting cocktails
It was the most pleasant experience in cusco. The service was outstanding and the smoke trout was perfectly cook.
Great food and service. Staff was very friendly. All the food we ordered tasted great. The ambiance is also excellent. Highly recommended.
The food was wonderful, and the service was superb! The only suggestion I have is with the Puka dessert - in the Spanish version of the menu, it mentions molle (peppercorns), however this is not mentioned in the English version of the menu. As unexpected peppercorns can be a bit shocking, I would recommend adding a note about the molle in that dessert in the English version of the menu. :)
The atmosphere is really amazing, since it’s located inside the Marriott hotel. Really good cocktails for good price. Service also incredible.
To start we ate trout ceviche which was really delicious. However the most disappointing was their main dish Pachamanca, which is the most expensive dish on the menu, intended to be for share. For 138 soles (which in Peru is a lot to spend on food) you get a pot with hot rocks with two pieces of beef, alpaca and chicken and local veggies, especially the potatoes. The dish looks impressive, but everything was soooo dry, we had difficulty eating it. There’s no sauce, or spices, or legumes that would help with the dryness. So, in the end, did we leave full? Yes. Did we pay 300+ for dinner in Peru? Yes. Was I happy with it? Definitely not. Peruvian cuisine is so amazing and tasteful that this was a disappointment.
Made a rainy evening special. Very good, caring service!
Quespi provided a sophisticated interpretation of Peruvian, and especially Inkan cuisine, in an elegant but unimposing setting in a convent converted from an Inca temple. The restaurant setting adjoins a massive Incan wall and overlooks the convent courtyard. Our waiter, Jesus (two days before Christmas) was charming and attentive - contributing to the experience.
Stop in the bar before dinner for schooling and a tasting of piscina varieties.
The food was great but the service was outstanding! Thank you for a wonderful experience! (The name of our waiter was Jesus)
We LOVED our few days at the JW Marriot but our dinner at Qespi was disappointing. The service was very slow...but everyone was nice. Most patrons at this nice restaurant looked like they had just walked off the mountain. Casual is ok, but smelly and hiking clothes is ridiculous. The food and menu were not great. The girl playing the violin is nice, but not when she walks thru and you can't hear the person next to you.
We would like to acknowledge the attendant Ms. Danitza for her kind and professional services. Excelent!!!
We were very unhappy with our visit. We were one of two tables in the restaurant. The heat was blaring, even though it was not cold outside. Upon asking that it be turned down, it took a lot of emphasis to get it down because they kept saying it had to do with the bar area having heat. Our soups were bland, it took forever to get our cocktails, and when we finally got our meals well my meal the ribs were so burned that the chef agreed and they removed it from the tab. My husband got the lamb that was so quickly cooked that it did not have the rich flavor of slowly cooked lamb and he was surprised to learn that what he thought was just a boiled bland potato was supposed to actually be scalloped potatoes. Additionally, we were sat at a table all the way in the back which was nicely decorated for our honeymoon dinner but behind us was a door that led to the patio. It was open and there was constant noises and movement of tables and chairs being broken down from the patio. Why we would be sat to have a romantic dinner by a door where people were constantly coming in and out of with chairs and tables, makes no sense. Finally, when we got the bill, there was a 10% service charge added to it that was not advertised on the menu not we’re we told anything about it by our server. The manager agreed to provide us with a 10% discount to make up for the charge but they didn’t really do a good job about making us feel better about the whole situation. I’d like to emphasize that we came here for our nice honeymoon dinner. It was quite frankly the worst dining experience of our trip.
The wait staff was amazing. They went out of their way to ensure we had a great experience. The food was great as well.
The ambiance and service was outstanding. Such a beautiful restaurant and the server was friendly and very attentive; recommending a great bottle of wine and having casual conversation. The meal we ordered was mostly meat and to be shared by 2 people. The Peruvian potatoes were not what we expected or to our liking and the beef tenderloin was the best option in the dish; delicious. The smoke chocolate dessert was delicious; however, very smoky so may not be liked by everyone. I look forward to returning again one day when we visit Cusco again.
Allergy and vegan friendly restaurant. Great service! The local wine was really good!
The food and service was amazing! I cannot say enough about the ambience of the place itself, or the waitstaff Danitza and Jesus. They were fabulous! I highly recommend Qespi.
Lovely dinner by the courtyard. Was a little loud with the World Cup soccer, but otherwise a great evening. Service was impeccable.
It was amazing. We started with a pisco Sour tasting by Freddy and he did a fantastic job! Then the food, I never have had such a gnochi. Everything was just perfect, the food, the wine and the service! Great evening we had. Everybody knew of our special occasion, and Freddy took the effort to say goodbye before he left. Where do you find this kind of attention these days... well at Qespi. We go back tomorrow!
The food was good for a hotel restaurant. Service was good. Jesus was a little nervous but very attentive and nice. The ambiance was nice, it’s on the side of a courtyard of a former convent. The bar outside the restaurant has great waiters and good drinks.
Delicioso restaurante. Super recomendado. Nos atendido Nilo, excelente servicio y persona.
This is an EXCELLENT restaurant; highly recommended. If you have the time, you can book in advance the chef's tasting menu, which was an AMAZING meal. Otherwise, highly recommend the flower salad.
The service is 5 star and Bruno, our waiter, was the best.
One evening in Lima, Peru. Concierge recommendation. Outstanding!
Some of the waiters are quite friendly but some are not really provide a good quality of service including the restaurant mangers.
The price is resonable, environment is also very good. Food reach a normal level.
I booked at Qespi for New Years Eve via Open Table. When we arrived the restaurant were advised that the main restaurant had the same menu as the bar restaurant and that this was a buffet, no ‘a la carte’ was possible. The buffet was the most expensive buffet I have ever had at $150USD. This price could be justifiable with the right ingredients so we decided to try it. The food was quite mediocre. The highlight was a risotto station, but everything else was bland especially the turkey which I assume they tried to cater for Americans but failed. Even the deserts were not great, for example the macaroons were hard and brittle. The other disappointing aspect was their wine list. For such a high-end hotel I expected a good wine list, but they had less than 20 reds most of which were from Intipalka winery.
Overall, avoid this restaurant, there’s much better in Cusco.
Perfect spot to eat a good meal in Cusco. Music was a bit too loud, but otherwise it was fantastic.
Christmas Eve Buffet
We reserved a table for Christmas evening. The setup on the evening was a set menu with main courses at a buffet. It was no where advertised that the Christmas dinner would be set menu rather than a la carte and we had not been informed via email nor at reception on the evening but only found out when we were seated.
The quality of the food was in no relation the the price and we in fact were quite disappointed. I think it comes without saying that Christmas dinners are more price than a usual meal but this was way out of proportion.
The service was not very attentive despite the restaurant not being full at all and at several occasions we had to wait a fair bit for the waiter to come back with e.g. Additional drinks, orders or the bill.
Atmosphere was nice and after complaining about the above points we received a discount of 20% which was a small compensation. Anyway wouldn't recommend this place based on our experience. Maybe it's better on a daily basis with a la carte menu.
Hotel is full of history about its Augustine beginning. The food and the service were superb!
My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and were treated as a very special occasion. The service couldn’t be better! Mauricio was extremmely atencious and gave us many good suggestions, all them followed, what let us very satisfied. He knows all the menu and showed great knowledge about cooking.
