Great food and service! My boyfriend and I were celebrating an anniversary and they make us feel special and gave us a cute dessert with candles. Would definitely recommend!

My husband and I were on a mini vacation visiting my sister on our first trip with our three month old. Sis offered to babysit and recommended Purple for dinner. It did not disappoint!!!!

Purple has always been a favorite of mine. I would have to say I was very surprised that they now add on a 20% service charge to your bill. What most people don't know is that when a restaurant adds on a mandatory service charge they are required to charge sales tax on that so now you are technically paying 22%. I know that taking care of your employees is important. I have a business as well. But give your customers the choice to decide if their service was great. Mine by the way was great but I found out that the owner only gives 10% to the server!

Appetizers and main courses were great. Dessert was extremely disappointing. How a restaurant that serves a confit duck leg for dinner, can serve what they called “bread pudding” for dessert is beyond me. It wasn’t even reminiscent of bread pudding. It was dry cubes of bread piled on a sliver of some sauce you could barely taste. Wine was extremely overpriced. Something around 150-200 %, which is too much unless it’s a wine you cannot find in the store. Many of the wines on the menu are readily available in the store. Anyway, food was excellent, but everything taken together did not result in a “return-to” restaurant.

I am never pleased to have my tipping level dictated to me . Starting at a minimum of 20% leaves little room to reward for good service and no way to penalize poor service. Not a fan of restaurant socialism or is that communism?

We always love Purple, regardless of which location. However, the Woodinville spot seems to have a lot more character than the other locations, probably because of its wine-community setting.

The food is always spot-on and the wine list a great selection of Washington- and other regions' choices.

Booked two weeks in advance and requested a table upstairs. When we arrived asked about the table upstairs, woman who checked us in said no, she didn’t know anything about our request and we were to be seated downstairs. Luckily some else walked by, heard our conversation, he offered to check upstairs then confirmed we could in fact have a table upstairs.

When our orders were taken we asked for a longer break between the appetizers and entrees, our server was happy to assist and said he would liaise with us before calling away our entrees. Well, we were still eating our appetizers when our entrees arrived. No apologies, entrees shoved in front of us whilst we were still eating food of our appetizer plates!

When we sat down we were informed about the new 20% gratuity which is automatically applied to your bill. I don’t mind giving 20% gratuity but I don’t feel on this occasion our dining experience was worth a 20% tip. I’m guessing these issues were because it was a Saturday night......

I really like Purple and don’t usually have any issues, not sure what happened on Sat??

CAN'T HEAR TABLE CONVERSATION. I've been to this location a few times for lunch during the week, and it's always been moderately noisy, but I had no idea that a Saturday lunch hour would be so much worse. We literally could not hear across our small table for lunch conversation. We ate as quickly as possible and left so we could actually catch up with our friends. PLEASE consider installing some sound dampening on your ceilings! As good as the food and wine was, there's no reason to return if we can't even talk to each other.

Although we thought we couldn't get reservations, there was plenty of room for us to have a nice table for five in a corner, for easier talking. The food, as always, was delicious, and just the right amount. The wine we chose was reasonably priced, for a restaurant, and also very good.

Really good variety of choices for Seattle Restaurant Week menu, not obvious cost-cutting like some menus I previewed. We always have a good time here.

There were not many choices for the SEATTLE RESTAURANT WEEK menu. We had order from the regular menu, which was somewhat expensive, and the seasoning for the dishes was lacking. The noise level was quite high-which made the dinner situation somewhat uncomfortable.

If you are planning on visiting the various Woodinville winery tasting rooms, I suggest starting the day with brunch at Purple. You then have over 20 tasting rooms to choose from within walking distance.

Great food and drink as always. Sick and tired of everyone in the greater Seattle area now starting to charge the mandatory 20% service fee on everything all the while chalking it up to the benefit of the employees. Natural effect of a $15 min wage. The cost continues to be passed on to me. Food was great though.

The automatic 20% tip is ridiculous. While our server was attentive, part of the incentive of tipping is to get great service. The fact that management keeps 20% of the tip for wages and benefits is crazy. That is a part of doing business and should be covered in food and drink costs, not taken from the servers tips. I typically tip 20%, so it isn't the amount, it is that is automatic with no opportunity for the customer to adjust and the partial disbursement of the tip to management. Our family owns a restaurant, so I have experience, and this is the most outlandish practice I have run into.

Family dinner out. Unfortunately, a family member was late. However, server never looped by to ask if we wanted to get started with drinks while waiting. This lack of attention, looping, carried throughout the night and the server could have probably turned the table 45m-hr faster than she did. Food is always excellent, and usually service is good- excellent.

They now impose a 20% “service fee” on top of the bill to help them pay wages. It left a sour taste in my mouth and I’m not sure how often I’ll be back. I understand paying a family wage. Raise the menu prices, don’t hide it behind a forced tip.

Went to purple for Seattle restaurant week. They have recently implemented a new 20% service charge. The food was good, however my colkeague did not enjoy her sandwich and thought the flavor profiles were a bit strange. The most disappointing part of our dining experience was our inattentive server. The restaurant was not busy, however, we were there for an hour and a half - LONG time for lunch. There was a long wait in between our courses. At the end of our dining experience, we waited 10 minutes for our server to check back in with us so that we could request to go boxes and our check. She served the other tables around us and ignored us completely. I finally had to go to the hostess stand to request to go boxes and our check because my colleague had to make her next appointment. I would encourage at the restaurant to re-think their 20% service charge as I would not have left that type of percentage based on the service that we received.

Now today's service and food was great. Monday is half off a bottle of wine. Thanks again for a great evening.

This is one of only a few full service restaurants in the middle of Woodinville's wine district. Lots of tasting rooms around but not much real food. The food at Purple was well above average and better than we expected. As one would expect of an establishment in this district, the wine list was extensive. Service was excellent. Our only regret is the hard surfaces in this place -- like so many stylish new restaurants these days -- make the sound environment quite noisy. It's not that much fun to have to raise one's voice to have a conversation with table mates. Too bad. Otherwise a great dinner out.

Purple (Heavy Restaurant Group) just instituted an automatic 20%, yeah 20%, service charge. Very disappointing. That charge applies to the whole bill, whether you buy a $50 bottle of wine or a $150 bottle of wine - same "service". Then they charge you the 10% sales tax on top of the automatically charged service charge (tip?). Legal or not, BS. The 20% service charge is split between the servers (60%...ok), the other restaurant support staff (20%...ok), and the last 20% to the restaurant...the owners (not ok!)...to "help pay" for what they have always charged diners for with the cost of the meal listed on the menu. Are you kidding me?

If I want to give a good tip, 20% or more, it is because of good service, not because I feel like I want to pay more for the food/beverage price listed on the menu. Not cool.

By the way, food was great, service...average. I will not be back unless this new policy is reversed.

Another wonderful experience at Purple Woodinville. Window seat was perfect location for chatting and catching up. Restaurant noise level is due to the poularity of the restaurant but is not intrusive to table conversation. Bryan, our waiter, was perfect in his manners, attentiveness and attention to detail. Will definitely visit this location in the near future!

My husband and I met for brunch with friends. We made resos and were seated immediately when we arrived. The ambiance was nice, but noisy. I had the Kobe beef dip with fries and it was delish. My husband had the avocado toast and said it was very good, but not outstanding. The others in our party ordered the crab cake Benedict, which they said was "wonderful"

We all had mimosas and regretted the fact that we hadn't ordered the mimosa flight, which looked fun and good. Our only complaint was "the chairs" which were very attractive, but uncomfortable and hard to scoot.

Overall, we really enjoyed our brunch!

We always love coming to Purple for brunch and dinner. The food is always great quality, fresh and seasonal. The nicer dining vibe that is also family friendly is why we love this place. I’d give it 5 stars if they offered high chairs that were actually high enough for my child to be at table height. It seems silly, but since she is practically a foot under the tall tables, I can’t actually use the high chair, which means my husband and I end up taking turns eating, which isn’t the most enjoyable. Besides that, the service is always excellent and we will keep coming.

I was there for lunch with a friend. Food and service we're good with slightly below average size portions. Pricing was a little high for lunch, particularly $5 for an after lunch cup of coffee, billed as "small French press." The French press held slightly more than one cup, which was too strong and not hot enough even when first served.

Atmosphere is pleasant and quiet enough for good conversation.
