In my order was tomato soup and he forgot it. I had reservations for outside but my table wasn't ready.
We were prepared with proof of vaccination but also had to show ID. Two large areas were open to outside to maintain air circulation. Seated near the fireplace the temperature was comfortable. We ordered the Tuesday pasta special and enjoyed the food and wine. Having a screw-top on the bottle made it easy to take the extra wine home. The dessert caramels were hard. And a little hard to eat without harming our teeth. I took two of them home and was surprised the next day to discover they were not hard - just soft and creamy and delicious. At the restaurant they must have been in a freezer or refrigerator.
Outdoor dining, in late October, in the PNW, what could be better?
Purple has great ambiance and aesthetic. The Seattle Restaurant Week menu is absolutely incredible and the quality of food matched the quality of service. I highly recommend!
Food was good but rushed. I'm sure that has to do with the pandemic, etc.
Food was okay. Truffle Mac and cheese had way to much truffle flavoring and was definitely not worth what they charge for it.
Amazing king salmon! Also enjoyed the gruyere grilled cheese w tomato soup! Great last meal in town before heading to airport.
The service was excellent. We didn’t feel rushed in any way, which I really appreciated.
Great time. All aspects great, with exception - food was warm, not hot.
Always very good thank you! Ambiance, food and service are consistently excellent
Service was slow and inattentive. Wine list is poor and uninspired (hello … this is Woodinville). Food is average at best. For some reason they like to keep the main door open - if you sit anywhere in the general area of the door you will be cold - they don’t really care. This was a good restaurant once upon a time. Now, it’s not worth a visit. Too bad.
Normally a great place and quality food. I’ve been going there for years. Last night was a loser. The scallops were excellent but the accompanying polenta type squash was burned to hell. Should never have been served. They were cool about it and removed it from the bill but last night, wasn’t the normal great experience.
Glad they survived the pandemic.
Very rushed to take our order, but service was slow. Food was excellent, but not worth the wait.
Amazing service from host to table, great food, delicious pairings
Delightful ambience and delicious food and drinks at Purple Cafe in Woodinville last night. Service was stellar, as well. We'll be back.
Nice dinner out with friends. Appreciated vaccination requirement indoors and actual checking on arrival.
Enjoyed the midweek dinner with my husband. Service was excellent as always. Seared Salmon moist and flavorful with many wild mushrooms. My husband had the meatloaf with potatoes and a savory sauce.
Finished the night with another glass of wine and sea salt caramels.
Large doors were open and temperature inside was chilly just like outside. Service was good but infrequent. We needed a check back for drinks, water, etc. the mixed greens salad is good if you understand it is greens only. Experience was good and food was good as always.
Food is not tasty at all. If you are looking for good food dining experience, avoid this place.
Delicious Bolognese with pappadelle pasta and awesome bacon wrapped meatloaf
Loved the whole experience. Especially our server - blonde who nephew of the manager. :) he was awesome and so was the gal at the front who checked us in and the person who delivered our food. Thanks !!
The food was all fantastic! Requires vaccination proof at check in for indoor dining.
Made a reservation, waited outside for 20 mins, then they didn’t have a table for us, so we had to sit at the bar for another 20 mins before we were taken to our table. Once we were seated our waitress was frustrated with US for being disappointed by how long we waited. She took our order immediately and then wasn’t seen. We had to wave someone else down to order wine. Overall, the WORST, sassiest service I’ve ever experienced in my life and the food was just OK. Not amazing or delicious enough to counteract the service. What’s the point of a reservation if you still have to wait 40 mins? Wouldn’t recommend at ALL
The halibut special was phenomenal! The server was super helpful and checked in frequently even though it was a busy evening. Appetizers all had great flavor as well!
This was a great stop for lunch. We enjoyed a flight of three reds, the chopped salad with prawns (awesome), tomato soup, calamari and a cinnamon roll. I know it all doesn't sounds like would be good together, but the quality of each made it a perfect lunch for us. The chopped salad and cinnamon roll were especially delicious. We will return.
Long line to get in and keep in mind that to sit inside, you need proof of vaccination. We sat outside even though we had these docs. Most of the people in the tent area were incredibly loud and made conversation difficult but understand they were just having a good time (but at others' expense). The turkey hash - the turkey was cut in cubes and were kind of hard. Well, it didn't really taste fresh and the brussels sprouts were a bit hard as well but the dish was well-seasoned and I did end up eating the whole thing. Server was incredibly kind and attentive
Purple Cafe is always a fun dining experience and this was no exception. I had the bacon-wrapped meatloaf and my date had the salmon and both were very good.
There were a few little nits, however.
- No one asked us for our vaccination proof. This may be because I'd dined there a month ago... but my date had never visited this restaurant.
- It was 49F outside at 8 PM and all of the restaurant doors (including the large garage door) were wide open. The restaurant was COLD. We had to sit next to the gas fireplace to stay comfortable. Other guests kept their coats on. During the summer it was nice to get the fresh air but it was chilly in mid-October.
- Parking in that area is tight -- the lot was full when we arrived at 7:15 pm. Be prepared to park offsite and walk approx. two blocks to the restaurant.
The person that was working the front desk was rather rude; we weren’t aware that all guests had to be vaccinated to eat inside. (We were told King County wasn’t enacting that rule until late October.) Two guests were vaccinated; the third not. She was so rude our daughter went to the car. She agreed to stay and we’d sit outside. When we were seated (and it was quite cool out), our heater wasn’t working. I asked if we could be moved to a table where the heater was working and we were told no.
The saving grace was our waitress was great and our food was good. However, for being a wine bar, to not have mixed drinks was disappointing; their old location did.
Server was fantastic.
Always great service! Try the Tuesday night pasta special for two. Ending with Caramels is a must. Outdoor seating is set up for fall eating with overhead heaters.
I have not been to Purple in years. Found the chopped salad not very good. The wine was great and half off a to-go bottle was nice. They do not have a sign out so it is hard to find.
Wonderful as always. Loud, but love it because we don’t pay attention to others and they don’t pay attention to us. Food was fabulous, service was great! It was a fun night with my Love.
The food and service was very good. The only questionable thing is vaccine card checking- anyone could print out a card so it really doesn’t do any good. They’d be better served by separating people - wear masks and clean….
We enjoyed it very much!
The baked Brie, calamari, and crab cakes were great and the server was very attentive.
Like always, delicious food. Happy we were able to sit outside and stay covered and warm still.
Great food and a fantastic wine list. Outdoor seating is available.
Unimpressive menu and food.
The food was Mediocre but it was very expensive. Dry chicken and the wine for being a wine bar was not good. We sat outside and it was very noisy. The wait staff did the best they could but not one seemed very happy. Sad times.
