Have always had a wonderful experience every time we've visited.
Great Woodinville WIne Country location. The lunch combo meal is a deal.... soup/salad/sandwich..pick 2. The flatbread with truffled ricotta and guanciale was outstanding , hope it always stays on the list. Unbelievably deep wine list, something for everybody
Great outside seating. Dogs are welcome to join their owners at outside tables. Service was great. Diverse menu with many choices. Casual, fun atmosphere. Worth a visit!
We were very disappointed in the service we received. We were a group of 4. When we were seated our table was covered with tomato sauce that had not been cleaned up from the previous dinners. After ordering, we waited forever to be served. When we were served everything came at once! Salads, entrees etc. except for one person in our group who only received their salad. We were told the entree was one its way but it soon became obvious the order had never been placed. To top it off, a 20% tip was automatically added to our bill. If the service is good, I definitely feel a 20% tip is warranted but not with the service we received. Disappointing.
We were there for Sunday brunch/lunch. They have indoor/outdoor dining with large open walls to the outside patio. We sat just inside. The waitress was attentive. The food was very good. Our group of four ordered a salad, a sandwich and two Farmer's lunch (meat and cheese plates). We also ordered 2 flights of wine. The whole experience was lovely and yummy.
We had a limited time for lunch due to a theater event involving our granddaughters. Purple was very accommodating allow us to place our order the night before. Our food was available within 10 minutes of our arrival. Everyone agreed that their drink and meal selection was outstanding and a good time was had by all. Our only quibble would be with parking as spaces are limited and overflow parking is in a dusty gravel lot.
This is the third Purple location I've tried, and the food was not inspiring. Bummer! Service was great. I'll stick to the Seattle & Redmond locations.
I love this place....but not that night. Early dinner prior to a concert at CSM on a warm August Friday evening. I think our waitress just came on shift since she seemed confused, uncomfortable and not very friendly. We asked about Specials...none...disappointing; we asked about the shape of a pasta in a dish, not sure why it was important for us to know, but she didn't know the shape. The wine we ordered took a long time to be delivered to our table...were they letting it breathe?...if so, someone should have let us know since we were beginning to wonder if it had been forgotten.
The menu seemed smaller. Again, I love this place but I only get here about once every three to four months and it seems like I see the same things over and over again. I've tried them, they're very good, but I wanted something new and really tasty. Nothing special really stood out on the menu. For an appetizer we ate the Gorgonzola Pear Flatbread, it was good, but, been there, done that (again). We tried the Sweet Corn and Tomato pasta, it was o.k., but really sweet, almost too sweet. I ordered two appetizers for dinner since the Mains menu didn't really appeal to me...or, I've already tried most of them. The Burrata Panzanella Salad was delicious although for $17 I would have like a tad bit more "salad" to go with the big blob of burrata on the plate. The Sauteed Beef Tenderloin bites were the best thing on our table. Very good! Would love to have a larger portion if it were on the Mains menu.
We'll be back again, we will...looking for new items and perhaps a Special or two.
p.s. Wine was good, it's always good at Purple Cafe. You always know the wine list has been highly curated and is trustworthy.
Great food, pretty good service. Wine selection is always a reason to go.
Love the food & service at the Purple! Very creative, varied choices featuring local favorites. Wonderful salads! I can't say I've ever had a bad meal there. The service is prompt, efficient & very friendly. A bit on the noisy side but not much they can do about it.
We met my cousin for brunch at the Purple in Woodinville. I was glad they had a sign for extra parking as you left the very full parking lot.
The space is fun, a bit of an industrial feel. The food is good and there are enough choices. We had the lobster mac and cheese and the eggs benny over crab cakes. I thought the crab cakes were a bit over cooked and didn't taste of much crab. The lobster mac and cheese was very good and not dry.
Service is Ok. Not stellar, but good enough. We have also eaten at the Purple in Bellevue and the one downtown and find you always get good food and their wine list is better than most.
Great food and good service but the noise level was so high that it was very difficult to talk with the friends we met there for dinner.
Wonderful birthday brunch. The food as always was perfect.
Love the wine flights! Food was a bit late but the manager made it all better with free dessert.
We were treated so kindly by Monica she was super sweet our waitress was quick with service and very knowledgeable. The food was fantastic!
We had a wonderful time at the Purple cafe, the food was really good, and the staff were amazing.
Very disappointing anniversary dinner experience. Booked noting this was for anniversary. No mention or acknowledgement. Crowded, loud, lacked atmosphere. Food was not worth the price.
It just was not their night for service. Made mistakes in our order and then gave us the wrong food from our leftovers to take home.
I would love to see more vegan options on the menu being so close to amazing farms.
Service was slow & confused. They forgot about our order of Sourdough bread, it finally came after about 40minutes. Had to be on a constant lookout for our server. I tried their new pasta offering Sweetcorn & tomatoes . It was awfully bland & boring. Had to return it. Got my usual Basil pesto pasta which has been altered. Didn't like this new version one bit. But decided not to send it back. My husband's favorite is the Chicken Marsala. When it arrived he was truly disappointed to see the size of the chicken breast. It was a very small piece for a main course entrée of $26. Portion size has visibly shrunk while prices keep increasing. Taste & flavors have also not been maintained. Great service deserves 20% gratuity. However on this particular evening service was subpar. But the customer doesn't have a choice because the 20% gratuity is added to your bill. I guess i will have to give this place a miss in the future.
Late Sunday brunch for party of five. Initial service was quick but food an inordinate amount of time considering the dining room was thinning out. Basic breakfast of eggs, bacon potatos and toast was fine though the potatoes were more crisp than crisp/tender. Corned beef hash was ok but lacked much corned beef. Crab cakes benedict was overwhelmed by lemon in the cakes and there was no hint of any lump crabmeat. Biscuit and chorizo gravy was marred by a biscuit that was rock hard through the whole bottom half - as in could not make a dent with either fork or knife. We asked for a replacement biscuit since the plate already had an abundance of gravy. 15 minutes later we got an entirely new order. Fine, but would have preferred a two minute wait for just the biscuit now that everyone else was done. Service after food arrived was minimal. We were charged an automatic 20% service fee which I don't usually expect for a party of five. Food overall was meh and definitely not worth the price.
Been here many times, food and service were good. Just a little surprised that they now add 20% gratuity to your bill automatically. We were only a party of 2 so not a large group. I probably would have given 20% but it should be my choice, not an automatic add on. It also appears that the tax is added to the total including the gratuity so you are getting taxed on the tip.
I used to be a regular customer of Purple in Woodinville. Now that the area has turned into a tourist destination, I rarely dine there. Had friends from out of town, and I made reservations. The happy hour red wine was very nice. Friends enjoyed their beef-dip sandwiches. I ordered the New York steak with fries. The fries were terrific. The steak was so tough, even a steak knife couldn't cut it.
The fries were terrific. The service was outstanding. The rest...well, I won't be going back.
Busy as it was a concert night. Waitress was prompt and interactive. Good food
Service was good, nothing extraordinary. Was surprised to see a 20% service charge automatically added to our check. We were a party of 5, so did not expect an automatic gratuity charge (which is also taxed). Not a fan of this change
Food was good but the price is a bit high for the flatbread.
Great to be able to bring Miles the dog! The carmenere wine Purple carried was fab! The food was very good. Only request would be more gluten free options
Great food and wine. I don’t care for the mandatory 20% service charge though. Overall very enjoyable though.
The food was amazing! I had lobster mac and cheese and my girlfriend got the basil pesto with shrimp. The wine was delicious as well! The service was excellent! Our server, Aaron, was the perfect amount of attentive, offering great suggestions on the wine and entrees, and finding the right balance between making sure we had everything we needed but not overbearing to where we couldn't enjoy our conversation. Probably most impressively, though we got there an hour before they closed and left about 45 minutes after closing, we never felt rushed or like they were forcing us out. Definitely recommend this place!
The food and atmosphere were excellent, as always. It did seem that the portion sizes were smaller but the prices the same.
It is always so nice to dine outside and the service was great. Woodinville is such a nice area and this location is really great.
Thanks Purple Cafe for a very enjoyable lunch with excellent food and a great selection of menu items to select from.
Our server was spot on and timely which enabled us to enjoy the meal without feeling rushed as we were enjoying a Bon Vivant Wine Tour and wished to get back out to the wineries.
We are frequent visitors and really enjoy this restaurant!
I had the lobster mac and cheese. Several pieces of lobster shell were in it. My husband had steak and fries. The fries were burnt. For mac and cheese at $40 a bowl and stake at $45 I think, I expect more. The waiter did have the chef cook me up a mac and cheese to go,but for the price of the bill$128- I expect only perfection. The wine was good
Purple is a perfect place to get together with friends or celebrate a special occasion! They were very accommodating of our large group of 9, they allowed us to do separate checks and the servers were very attentive. The food was great and everyone appreciated the options to order small plates/ appetizers and/or large entrees. The wine flights were great as well!
Bothered (again) by the horrendous noise level with people literally screaming and laughing way above normal....even at 4:30 !!
Food is good, tho pricey, didn’t appreciate the 20 percent automatic service fee added whether it was good service or not so that the restaurateur doesnt Have to shell it out of its own proceeds. There are MANY other places to eat for great food, quieter environ & friendly service.
Sorry, just our (3) collective views.
Purple is always a favorite. We usually go for dinner so I wasn’t sure what to expect at 2pm on a Saturday. The menu was mostly a combination of brunch and sandwiches. We all enjoyed our choices. I’m always happy to recommend Purple.
This was my first time to the Purple Café. Wow, what a hidden gem! The waitstaff was very friendly and the food was phenomenal. I will definitely return!
I Have been here on multiple occasions and had always had a great meal until this recent visit. I got the filet mignon and it was over cooked/ seemed like it sat under a heat table for awhile. Makes me hesitant to go back for the amount of money I spent.
Our waitress was awesome.
It took quite awhile to get our food.
Another woman came to the table at one point to say the food would be there soon.
Food wasn't as good as usual.
Were with great friends so we had a nice time.
The Wednesday night fried chicken did not disappoint.
