Wife’s 40th bday celebration. Was an odd night as it was night before mandatory order to close for Coronavirus. Despite that we had an amazing time and absolutely will go back as soon as they reopen.
Not as good as it used to be. Gorgonzola dates are great. French dip has horseradish and comes with BBQ dipping sauce which is a weird combo when you expect a French dip.
Plesantly suprised of the quality of the food. and our server just toped it off with her service
and beautiful disposition. A wonderful experience which made my wife's birthday dinner very special. We drove from Lake Stevens to try our Purple, and we are glad we did. Just. moved to Lake Stevens and we simply cannot find anything of quality in the area...just FAST FOOD FAST FOOD AND MORE FAST FOOD.
Thank You, Paul n Beverly
Great lunch place!
We went to the Purple Cafe to talk and it was perfect for a quite lunch. Other days when I have been there it has been somewhat louder with more customers. Today was not crowded or noisy. The place is good for any occasion, but this time it happened to be just right for our conversation. They have good food and feature great wines. It is always a good choice, especially with friends or business associates.
Good food, very friendly service and accommodating to baby in tow. Nice atmosphere but a tad loud. Definitely recommend.
Great brunch menu 🤗
Great service and food! I hand the hanger steak and it was amazing.
Waiter recommended a dish. I thought sounded great. He put in the wrong order.
My 8 diner companions finished their meals before I got my correct meal.
My dish was comped by waiter/restaurant.
The dish was delicious and fresh once it finally arrived.
It is a delicious destination. Whenever we go to Woodinville, we have to stop
Chopped salad amazing. No extra charge to split a dish. Great interaction with staff.
Very nice experience. We sat at the bar and the server was very friendly, helpful and attentive. Food was excellent and we opted for an appetizer and to share an entree and she had it split into 2 plates. Love when servers add those considerate touches.
Nice location and ambiance. Highly recommend!
It was an amazing experience! Service, food and ambience were all top notch!
great food and service; a modern view of the American cuisine in the middle of the wine tasting locations.
Food was awesome. Our wait staff were very knowledgeable on the wines and food. Purple in Woodinville is always a wonderful experience!!
Good selection of food and the waitress was quite attentive to our needs
The menu selection, food prep and service were all wonderful but it is really loud. My voice doesn’t carry and one of our group has hearing aids and it was really difficult to talk. Busy place and fun but be prepared for it to be loud.
Our server was outstanding, and the meatloaf is excellent!
It was just my birthday weekend, and I decided we needed to make a stop for food and a wine tasting before going to the Wine my fries were perfectly cooked, the dipping sauce flavorful and not too thin, the red wine flight was an excellent paring; and the brownie sundae, birthday compliments of our server, was the perfect compliment and way to finish off our meal. Definitely going back!
Was the day after Valentines (cos let's face it who wants to go to a popular restaurant with loved up couples lol) my 2nd time here & it was as i remember? Great food with a hint of over price-ness , but the food was good :)
Overall a good meal. The duck confit pot pie was amazing. my wife had the lobster mac n'cheese - it was ok. For dessert she got the salted caramels which I enjoyed. They were covered in chocolate which was not indicated on the menu so she could not each them.
We were very disappointed because we made a reservation for a group of 6 and had to wait 45 minutes past our reservation time for our table. We had based our whole day around our lunch reservation so we were disappointed in the poor operation of this business and it was a real inconvenience.
Great food and company. Can depend on this restaurant every time we return.
Nice restaurant with great ambiance. Excellent wine list, especially try the recommenced dessert wines. It's a bit noisy when busy. Food is tasty.
Really nice restaurant in a trendy area of Woodinville. You're surrounded by other wineries and bars for drinks, that it becomes a place to where you could spend the evening without even trying. The food overall was very good and the service was great.
Really Love this place. My wife and I have come here many times over the years. But, admittedly its been awhile. we were very pleased with the small revisions made to the chopped salad and really loved the Dates appetizer. We decided to share the Kobe beef dip and the Grilled Cheese w/tomato soup. lets just say the Kobe dip was our favorite, and it was not due to the beef, it had all to do with the dip.. a red wine Jus.. so good.. very nice very flavorful. my wife enjoyed a lovely glass of Merlot, while I sucked down a pepsi. not a wine guy.. but I support my wife in this indulgence. we made a reservation for noon on Saturday, while maybe not needed, was nice to have. if you go, prepare to suffer through a potential parking ordeal. but just relax, part in the gravel lot behind and enjoy the walk to the restaurant. I luckily had an umbrella, but the rain was not a bother at all. enjoy!!
Purple Cafe is a favorite stop of ours and always delivers...nothing different this past Friday. Hosted two couples, one from Woodway near Edmonds and the Sound and the other from Coeur d'Alene...first time visit for them. We started at our home in Redmond for appetizers and had to delay our arrival...original reservation was 7:30 and as we got caught up in the Lakers home game and tribute to Kobe Bryant found ourselves running late. A phone call and request to push back to 8pm was accommodated and we had a terrific dinner...entrees were terrific, 3 got Filet, 2 Bolognese and 1 a Salad plus and two bottles of Domaine Drouhin Pinot Noir topped it off. I wish I could remember our servers name as she was phenomenal...cordial, attentive, conversational while working hard to care for other tables. Really awesome. See you again.
It took an hour and a half to get our food. The server was nice but it should never take that long for dinner.
Not what it used to be! People are nice, but service is limited. Waitress was nice/pleasant, but she wasn't very attentive; never checked back with us after the food finally arrived. Also, she new it was my wife's birthday and I had asked in the OT reservation if they had a special dessert for such an occasion to present that me when we got there, but no one made an effort to do that. We saw 2 birthday cakes come out of the kitchen, but the best our waitress could come up with was dropping off a couple d. menus. Really?!
As I mentioned, the food and drinks took forever to come out and I hate to say that it wasn't worth the wait. They sat us near the front door and it was cold that night. It was very busy so the front door was constantly opening and closing, that coupled with the high noise level made for an uncomfortable dining experience.
The kicker for me was seeing on the check that they gave themselves a 20% tip ($41 + tax)! That's the sort of thing you expect on large groups (usually 6+), not a 4-top. They explain on the bottom of the check that they're now paying employees insurance, 401Ks, etc., so they're passing those costs onto the customer's. I am all for service people earning a living wage, but this is a new thing and the restaurant should take steps to notify customers about the change ahead of time. There are no notices that I saw. Had I been assessing the tip, she would have earned something closer to 10%. Moreover, I watched the way our wait person worked. Never did she look like she was in the mood to hustle, but why should she if she's guaranteed at least 20% on every table?!
No one in my group much enjoyed the experience. Taken altogether 2 stars is very fair. Needless to say I probably won't return. There are too many other great options to choose from that we don't have to suffer the mediocre establishments. Enjoy that 20%... it's the last one you'll get from me.
This is the first time we haven’t had the best service or meal at Purple. We have enjoyed many fine meals with great service in the past at this location. Although the restaurant wasn’t full and we had a reservation our server was slow to attend to us. She also smelled strongly of cigarettes when she did show up. Our appetizer order was completely forgotten and our meal was warm instead of hot when served. Diners who arrived well after us were served first. The server also did not deliver our food as it was brought by someone else. We will pause our support of this location for awhile. The guaranteed service fee may make some servers lazy because they know we are paying 20% regardless of the service.
Quick seating, great service, great food a little spendy for lunch but all in all well worth it!
Dissspointing birthday dinner. Pasta barely had any sauce. Veg burger was tough like rubber
Good food but expect to pay A LOT! I like going there but then i always walk away telling myself I’ll never return because it’s so friggin expensive! Seriously!! Two ladies having midweek lunch and the bill was $150! Yes we had a glass of wine but for soup salad and a glass of wine?!
Great food. Server was fantastic. Sat upstairs since it was a little warmer. Brunch is the perfect way to start a woodinville day
Even with a reservation there was a long wait and service was slow. Given that this is a wine bar in wine country, servers were inexperienced in serving wine. But this is a long time favorite and perhaps they were unexpectedly busy.
The food was outstanding and pretty tasty. I ordered the steak and fries fritters with extra shrimp it was pretty good. But the fries could have been more hot and used less oil. The volume was also pretty loud in the restaurant, other than that I had a good time and enjoyed the food and service.
Late happy hour. Great service!
What a great find! Due to the nasty weather, it was easy to get a reservation-but I’m sure it’s difficult on a fine day.
Highly recommend. Delicious!
One of our favorite restaurants. Very good food, service and comfortable. However, due to the snow, the restaurant was almost empty and was very quiet and intimate until a big group of very loud people came in and completely changed the atmosphere. It's nothing that the restaurant did wrong, but it put a damper on our evening.
Excellent salads and entrees. Always come here when in town and this trip was special because our server (from Oklahoma) was awesome and very knowledgeable about wined and menu. Definitely made it an extraordinary meal.
