Purple Cafe and Wine Bar - Woodinville
We feature an expansive menu ranging from artisan cheeses, starters, soups, salads, sandwiches and pizzas to pasta and seafood. We take a great deal of pride in utilizing the freshest, local ingredients that change with the seasons.
On the wine side of things our wine list features over 80 glass and 600 bottle selections. Over the years our wine program has been recognized with various accolades that include an "Award of Ultimate Distinction" from Wine Enthusiast Magazine and being named "Best Wine Bar" by Evening Magazine's Best of Western Washington Viewers Poll.
The food is always good and the server attentive. It would be nice to see a creative vegetarian entree on the menu. While a veggie burger, pasta choice and risotto is nice (and those are tasty) , I would like to see a less common vegetarian choice added.
Great food & service!
Perfect location before a concert to meet friends, have some good wine and great food. (Make a Reservation on concert days) . The wine selection is excellent, and the food is paired up nicely with some great options from appetizers to a full course menu. Always enjoy this place.
All I can say... Damn good food and wine. You have to try this place!
Food and service seems to be failing
Excellent place for both leisure and business meals
I found the service was spotty. We are at a wine based restaurant, we ordered a wine sampler flight, with instruction to return for our wine order, the food came 15 min's before someone asked if we wanted wine. For the price, the food was unimaginative, nothing that I couldn't have made at home, and expensive. Twice we ordered items that they had run out of. (Not even having black tea) I would understand if this was a late night table, but this was at 7pm.
The evening was perfect! From our waiter to the food. My birthday celebration was a wonderful experience thanks to Purple Cafe Woodinville! I live in Seattle and it's worth the trip!
We went with another couple - good and service was great.
Our waiter, Dave, was great and we appreciated his service and wine recommendations! We eat here on a regular basis for dinner and Dave helped make the experience more enjoyable than usual.
The service was wonderful, the fried calamari was perfect (although I'm still puzzled that it was served with a soup spoon...???), and the small lobster mac and cheese was merely adequate AND overpriced for what it was.
The 20% service charge was a most unwelcomed surprise for a restaurant in Woodinville. There is no mention of this additional service charge on their website (and the fact that it is retained by the company and not the server and that sales tax is applied to the service charge too) and is hidden in small print on the menu. It is a disservice to both the customer and the server.
Had a lovely lunch at Purple. Great place to eat, especially on the patio when the sun is shining!
I've always enjoyed going to Purple. And this visit was a treat after a stressful work week. We ordered a bruschetta appetizer. It came and amounted to three tiny slices of baguette with sundried tomatoes and cheese for $17. Three pieces seemed odd. Why not an even number -- like four? When the bill came, a 20 percent tip had been pre-added to the bill. Their prices are pretty high, but we knew that. The auto tip was a surprise and I think 20 percent is up to us if we want to add it. But they've taken that choice away.
Love this restaurant! Food and wine were on point! However the parking situation is horrendous! It took some members of my group up to 15 minutes to find parking and then, once we arrived, we found out that Purple didn't renew their contract for the extra lot that they mention on the website, so several people had to pay $10 each to park.
The purple cafe chopped salad was delicious. I would definitely recommend it. Service was great! Autumn was a delight to have as a server.
The worst food I've ever eaten in a restaurant! The burger had NO TASTE at all , the bun was very dry. We had the chicken marsala as well which it was just like 2 chicken fingers . They've cut a lot from the amount of food they used to serve . There is a lot of noise , you can barely hear each other. I'm not recommending this restaurant to nobody! And I'll share this to my friends & family as well!
Food was great- service was great. Only tip was it was unusually dark in the area we were seated. Perhaps for ambience, but several people using phone flashlights to see menu would support bring the lights up just a bit :)
We have been to Purple Cafe many times before, but this time we had to pay for parking, and they sat people with their dogs behind us. We were dining outside, but didn’t appreciate dogs dining with us.
I made reservations with a special request that it was my anniversary. No one acknowledged it. Our server was ok at best. She would ask us our needs then disappear for 15ish min at at time. It was busy, but we came in at 2, so the crowd disappeared quickly. I dont understand why we were left unattended for that time period. When our check arrived, we were told 20% was added for gratuity. I should have the option of what to tip. Especially after that experience. We won't be going back.
Always enjoy the food and ambience at Woodinville location.
name should show under Karen Sanders, not Jeff Griffith (my son, who lives in CA). I found the food to be excellent and would like to come back for wine in the evening.
Purple Cafe never disappoints. I enjoyed a nice lunch catching up with an old colleague.
This was our first time here. Arrived 20 min early for our scheduled reservation and was seated almost immediately. Waitstaff was very prompt and welcoming. Food and wine was delicious. Noise level was a little loud and a group of 4 that got seated next to us was very obnoxiously loud with inappropriate conversation considering there was a table with children nearby but overall our experience was great. Thank you. Definitely will be back and recommend to family and friends.
Not the purple chop chop salad it used to be...dry and not tasty. Pesto pasta awful. Brie great. Too loud to hear each other. Complete disappointment for price of meal.
Had a wonderful dinner with very attentive service. We were going to a concert at the winery next door after and appreciated the prompt service from front desk to paying our check.
Bombdotcom yum yum yum fo sho pure deliciousness!!!
Parking is the worst but the ambiance is worth it!!
Had reservation but were seated outside right by the very busy entrance. It took a really long time to get ice tea served and no one brought napkins and forks until after food was served and we requested them.
Absolutely love this Purple! Such great ambiance and service. I’m always craving their sweet potato fries too!
. Food selection has become almost non existent. prices have gone up. we went the next evening to the Heritage Restaurant next door. the only place to go from now on.
This is one of our favorite restaurants for date night and as usual the food, drinks and atmosphere were amazing.
Have always had a wonderful experience every time we've visited.
Great Woodinville WIne Country location. The lunch combo meal is a deal.... soup/salad/sandwich..pick 2. The flatbread with truffled ricotta and guanciale was outstanding , hope it always stays on the list. Unbelievably deep wine list, something for everybody
Great outside seating. Dogs are welcome to join their owners at outside tables. Service was great. Diverse menu with many choices. Casual, fun atmosphere. Worth a visit!
We were very disappointed in the service we received. We were a group of 4. When we were seated our table was covered with tomato sauce that had not been cleaned up from the previous dinners. After ordering, we waited forever to be served. When we were served everything came at once! Salads, entrees etc. except for one person in our group who only received their salad. We were told the entree was one its way but it soon became obvious the order had never been placed. To top it off, a 20% tip was automatically added to our bill. If the service is good, I definitely feel a 20% tip is warranted but not with the service we received. Disappointing.
We were there for Sunday brunch/lunch. They have indoor/outdoor dining with large open walls to the outside patio. We sat just inside. The waitress was attentive. The food was very good. Our group of four ordered a salad, a sandwich and two Farmer's lunch (meat and cheese plates). We also ordered 2 flights of wine. The whole experience was lovely and yummy.
We had a limited time for lunch due to a theater event involving our granddaughters. Purple was very accommodating allow us to place our order the night before. Our food was available within 10 minutes of our arrival. Everyone agreed that their drink and meal selection was outstanding and a good time was had by all. Our only quibble would be with parking as spaces are limited and overflow parking is in a dusty gravel lot.
This is the third Purple location I've tried, and the food was not inspiring. Bummer! Service was great. I'll stick to the Seattle & Redmond locations.
I love this place....but not that night. Early dinner prior to a concert at CSM on a warm August Friday evening. I think our waitress just came on shift since she seemed confused, uncomfortable and not very friendly. We asked about Specials...none...disappointing; we asked about the shape of a pasta in a dish, not sure why it was important for us to know, but she didn't know the shape. The wine we ordered took a long time to be delivered to our table...were they letting it breathe?...if so, someone should have let us know since we were beginning to wonder if it had been forgotten.
The menu seemed smaller. Again, I love this place but I only get here about once every three to four months and it seems like I see the same things over and over again. I've tried them, they're very good, but I wanted something new and really tasty. Nothing special really stood out on the menu. For an appetizer we ate the Gorgonzola Pear Flatbread, it was good, but, been there, done that (again). We tried the Sweet Corn and Tomato pasta, it was o.k., but really sweet, almost too sweet. I ordered two appetizers for dinner since the Mains menu didn't really appeal to me...or, I've already tried most of them. The Burrata Panzanella Salad was delicious although for $17 I would have like a tad bit more "salad" to go with the big blob of burrata on the plate. The Sauteed Beef Tenderloin bites were the best thing on our table. Very good! Would love to have a larger portion if it were on the Mains menu.
We'll be back again, we will...looking for new items and perhaps a Special or two.
p.s. Wine was good, it's always good at Purple Cafe. You always know the wine list has been highly curated and is trustworthy.
Great food, pretty good service. Wine selection is always a reason to go.
