Had a much better experience last year and was hoping for the same on this visit. Unfortunately, the food was average and the construction on the 2nd level was loud and disrupting, especially on a Saturday night!

The service was excellent.

Purple is one of our favourite places to have lunch before a play or a visit to the Seattle Art Museum. Our last visit was unusual because it was not as good. My Berkshire Stew was great but my wife’s Crab Roll should have been named a Celery Roll due to the lack of crab. The place was packed with the lunch crowd but even then our service was unusually slow. Still a great place to eat inspite of a disappointing g visit.

Purple was great, I really appreciated the wine list being so diverse and affordable. They have a lovely Cote du Rhône selection which can be rare to find where I live in California so it was greatly appreciated. Also having the wine director there to do wine service was a nice touch.

I usually order the lobster mac and cheese but this time, I tried the purple chop and a sandwich and it was so good. My friends loved their food and we celebrated two birthdays. I definitely recommend this place for any occasions.

Purple has a lot of menu from light bites such as olives to a full meal. I tried a flight of Spanish white wines. They were all delicious and went well with a chicken salad. My daughter liked her lobster Mac and cheese. Server was very friendly. Fun night!

Overall, it was ok. I did not think it was worth the money. When we asked for one dish to be reheated, we were told no. Not exactly customer friendly.

Made a reservation through OpenTable. Showed up to no reservation in PURPLE system. Hostess said she had no res. and showed me her screen. She was abrupt and had no time for me in resolving. She brushed past me to seat other guests. When she came back instead of going around me as she easily could have to her station, she asked me to move aside. As the person I was waiting for hadn't arrived yet I called The Capital Grille (across the street) and they quickly, politely and efficiently took my reservation. When hostess heard my call she THEN said, "We can seat you upstairs." This now AFTER THE FACT and only when she heard me on the phone with another restaurant. She could have offered the solution of a table upstairs at the beginning not after my call to another restaurant. I even showed her my OpenTable confirmation. Will NOT go to Purple in the future! SERVICE is as important as food and ambiance in dining out!

Almost all the food we ate was salty. We had chicken, calamari and halibut. Way to much salt on all of the items. Almost all of the calamari was returned uneaten. We ate about half the chicken but very salty. The waiter was great and gave us good service. He brought us a free desert for all the issues we had. I wouldn't recommend going there for the price of the meals, I would expect them to not be salty.

Good downtown location for pre or post theater, our waiter was very friendly however we had to wait a long time to get our food and then
to pay our bill. The food was not what I expected and the wine is overpriced. I will try another restaurant the next time we go to the theater.

Had a great time, thanks to the waitress. Her recommendations were on point, for both food and drinks (wine). Was however severely disappointed with the quality of service received when we came in (hostess stand).

Will return back whenever am in Seattle, just for the ambiance and food.

Positive experience. The place is beautiful and classy. I love the wine tower!! Our waitress was awesome, but I would’ve liked a little more attention at the beginning of the night. The hostess was awesome. I said we were celebrating a special occasion on my reservation and she asked us about it and I thought that was nice and attentive. I really liked my meal, my friends were a little pickier and didn’t like it as much. My friend said the gluten free pasta wasn’t very flavorful. But overall we had a wonderful time and I think we would come back. It was fun and I like the energy of the place a lot. It cool, clean, classy, and fun. They have lots of tables too!

We had :30 reservations before a 7:30 show. Due to weather we were runnimg quite late so we called and notified the front desk. We arrived about 5:55 and the place was packed on a Thursday night. We were seated right away and told our waiter we had a show to catch and he said if we made quick decisions he would make it happen and he did. A couple of us ordered from the Restaurant week menu and a couple from the regular menu. The food was all very good with kudos for the calamari and the lamb burger. We were out by 7:15 so we were pretty happy with how it went. Next time we will arrive on time so we can linger. All in all a very good experience

I'd made a reservation for dinner as I was taking a friend to the Opera. The first annoyance for me occured when the hostess says to me: "wow, you're dressed up!". I wasn't. I was dressed the way I dressed daily. I told my friend when she arrived. My friend remarked: "guess they're not accustomed to seeing a black woman so well put together, what an ignorant girl." That hostess who seated me made me very uncomfortable.

Water: I'd forgotten my reading glasses so couldn't see the menu. From the onset our waiter seemed rushed and annoyed. I say to him "I don't have my reading glasses, so I'll just take the first red wine on list". It was as if I was speaking Klingon, he asks me to confirm the wine name. I say again, I don't have my reading glasses, I can barely see anything". My friend then asks which of the white wines would be the sweetest. He didn't seem to know,. I then ask him what the driest red would be. He didn't seem to know and directed me to the white. My friend says. "no, no, no.. she doesn't drink white.. girl just stick with what you ordered". He goes to get our wines.

When he returns he tells us if we want to get out at 7pm we need to order now, the kitchen is busy. I was awkward. I didn't even realize it was Seattle Restaurant week until we sat down, had I known that NO WAY would I have come. My friend helped me select an entree from the small menu since I couldn't see and we were being rushed. I asked for a small salad, it was quite off-putting how the waiter says to me "thats not on that menu you have to pay extra".. I say to him "I can afford it". I was appalled. When he comes to pick up our checks he glares at me and says "you didn't sign your check". I say, yes, I did. He says "no, you didn't". It was my (white) friend who didn't sign her check as she signed the wrong receipt. Seriously dude? You instantly assume the black chick didn't sign her check and call her out on it rudely? WTF? NEVER EVER AGAIN will I set foot in Purple.
