There for a date and they put us *right* next to the front door. We had to leave our jackets on because the cold kept blowing in every time the door opened. And our table was literally 6 inches from the one next to us. I was closer to the guy next to us than I was to my date. Very awkward. Not impressed.
Food and wine bar. Exceptional list of wines, food...not so great. Everything was over cooked and dry. I ordered the braised shortrib paired with the recommended wine. The shortrib was too lean lending to it's stringiness and dryness. The wine paired well with the sauce on the plate.
My date had the seafood stew. Good amount of seafood wetted with a small amount of stew. The seafood again was overcooked and tough. My date really liked the stew's flavor though.
Service was good and the restaurant was beautiful. For a place named purple, there weren't any purple menu items.
One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Great service, delicious unpretentious food, impeccable wine pairing and quite possibly the best apricot baked brie I’ve ever tasted.
Enjoyed some of the entrees but service problems spoiled the meal. I received the wrong entree so the waiter offered to replace it or send it in addition to the entree they delivered, but we had waited so long that I declined and took the plate they brought. After the server left, I realized the entree was barely warm.
When they delivered the entrees, I ordered another glass of wine. It was delivered as we finished our meal, with no apology for the slow service.
I would not return to this restaurant because the service (and some of the food) did not match the atmosphere or prices charged.
Seafood stew was a very small portion for $29 and the mussels were bad. Wait staff was helpful and brought me replacements but not impressed with Purple. Used to dine at Purple when they had a Kirkland location and it never disappointed.
We went for a girls night dinner celebrating a friends birthday. The service was incredible, C.T. went above and beyond making our experience fantastic. The wine pairings were amazing and we will definitely be back.
Thank you for one of the best meals in a very long time.
Not a place for quiet fine dining. The noise level was higher than that which we heard just before the opening of Mama Mia at the 5th Avenue with a full audience. I can't recall having been in such a loud and noisey restaurant. When trying to order wine and a meal with the waiter, I had to raise my voice and speak the same request multiple times. Unbelievable. I'm a fan of Bolognese so ordered that for my entree. I've never had Bolognese which wasn't made with a tomato base and Purple's Bolognese is very different with a flavor I was unable to identify. I didn't care for it. We have never paid $12.50 for a glass of wine but being my birthday, why not. The Pinot Grigio was so-so, as I've had better. The bill came to $95 before tip. Given the experience we endured at Purple, I should have reserved a table at Il Terrazo Carmine where for a similar price, we could have enjoyed a quiet, fine dining experience like the many we have enjoyed at Carmines before. Purple is a place for the 20's, 30's and maybe 40's generation, not for seniors desiring an enjoyable dining experience where one can actually hold a conversation with one's bride.
Server was fantastic. Went above and beyond. Best dining experience.
Purple is one of my favorite restaurants in all of Seattle! Boasting a stunning view and wine collection, this restaurant is perfect for a date, special occasion, or just a beautiful dinner. Top notch service, food, wine, and atmosphere. Can't say enough good things!
Dinner was great. Loved our crab cake appetizer. A perfect evening.
We had a very good pre Hamilton dinner here:) Good service, good food and the prices did not make me want to cry. Amazing selection of wine by the glass. I had the lamb burger and it was fantastic. The restaurant should pay a little more attention to the bathroom facilities, it was not gross, but it was not supper clean and there is some shelving falling down in the Men's room. Also I noticed boxes of wine stacked on the really cool wine staircase/cellar centerpiece of the restaurant, which seems a little tacky for a restaurant in the high rent district.
Simply an awesome dinner before a show. Creative Calamari, wonderful Cauliflower and the Veggie Burger was delightful. Then we had to do the Apple Crisp, the best ever. Our server was completely engaged with us with top-notch service. A great value!
Food and service were both outstanding. Our waiter even gave us several recommendations for where to go next since we were visiting from Out of town. We will definitely be back next time we are in Seattle!
Good food choices
Way overpriced!!!!!! For what we received it was too dark could not see the cost menu print very small
This is a great restaurant for a random fancy treat. However, there are much better food options in Seattle for how much money you would spend here. Wine selection is spectacular and the ambiance is amazing with great service.
Wonderful evening out! Of the several Purple locations around the area, this one stands above the rest!
The food was amazing, the staff was very helpful in finding us the perfect wine, and the service was outstanding. This was our Valentine's and vacation dinner, and I can say it was the perfect choice. If you get the chance, go.
Great place to have a unique experience and great service.
