The service was amazing as was the Brie appetizer but the steak frites were terrible. Steak was not a good cut (sawing it with a butter knife was unsuccessful), undercooked (twice) and lacked flavor. Tried to redeem the experience with bread pudding but they were out. Also out of my choice of vodka. If I didn’t love the ambiance and continued great service I probably would not go back. Next time we’ll keep it to drinks and appetizers.

We had a lovely meal and our waiter was great!
Had very loud people sitting next to us which wasn’t pleasant. Seating was too close for us to hear each other and have conversation. Otherwise it was good, we loved the food!

The food was delicious, especially the chicken liver mouse - it was like Thanksgiving on toast! Staff were very friendly and attentive. It's a great special occasion spot ($$$). We were seated next to a big and very loud group, but the whole restaurant is fairly loud, so *shrug*

We’ve been to Purple Cafe a few times now, and are never disappointed. We had our Valentine’s Day dinner there and it was another great experience. The service is great, the food was very good and they were accommodating for our plans after dinner.

I have an issue with wait staff that take peoples plate before everyone at the table is done. I find it unacceptable that management doesn't eduacate staff on etiquette.

It is always a pressure going to Purple. The staff is increasingly professional and very accommodating. I started a food blog and asked for the menu so I could take a picture and the waiter gave me a menu to take home with notes on that I had order plus the wine pairings. Excellent time.

Food was amazing!!!! Had three flights of wines. Out of 9 only 1 was good. Little disappointing. Service was great but food came out too slow for us.

We had an amazing dinner at Purple for my boyfriends birthday. We ordered the Dungeness crab cakes as an appetizer and then the duck two ways and the lobster Mac and cheese for mains with a glass each of the suggested paired wine. For dessert we shared a bread pudding and our server brought us complimentary house made sea salt caramels. The portions were generous and the food was rich and flavorful. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a high class dining experience in the Seattle area.

The food was OK. Overpriced. 20% tip is added automatically. The service was slow. I was not impressed.

Great atmosphere, most of the food was good. Get the baked brie! Our server was awesome, helped us with all of our wine selections. Would recommend to a friend for sure!

The waiter took forever... didn’t really check up on us. I even put a special request that we are coming for a birthday dinner and no one acknowledged that. The restaurant is really nice in terms of atmosphere. However, food was average.

The restaurant ambience is lovely however the food and service are subpar. Took about 20 mins for drinks and service was inattentive. PLEASE NOTE the 20% gratuity applied to your bill automatically. Wish this website had listed that. The quality of service was not worth the 20%.

Our appetizer and my main dish were both served cool (ie no longer warm/hot). It was a busy evening, but I would expect there could be better kitchen/waiter timing.

Overall it was very good with the only drawback being the noise level which was high. The service was friendly & expert, the kale caesar salad and pasta dishes were delicious, and the wine wonderful. The noise level however was unpleasantly too high.

Food is well-prepare and presented. Wait staff is efficient and friendly. Desserts are in small portions so you don't feel too full. It's just a block from the 5th Avenue Theater and we were out the door in plenty of time to make curtain.

The appetizers and paired wines we’re really good. The main dishes however, which were lobster Mac and Cheese and the Spicy Shrimp Aribatta were not good. The lobster was fishy tasting and the shrimp dish was basically just shrimp, noodles, and sauce. It’s was also too expensive for pasta dishes especially considering the quality.

There was a huge puddle at me feet. I believe water was seeping in from all of the rain. I didn’t notice the water and pit my backpack under the table. It was soaked through! Server didn’t care and further, when I mentioned other customers would be affected he could have cared less. He did take time top point put that his 20% tip was included so I had no recourse there either. Really?

We were going to an 8pm show at Benaroya. Our waitress was wonderful despite being slammed busy! She made sure we received our order in time to enjoy the food and make it to the show on time. The only negative was the medium rare hanger steak was medium well done. She gratuitously took it off the bill.

Normally a big fan of Purple, however this time everything was overcooked. The steaks were cooked past the level requested and the scallops were overdone as well. The bottle of wine and martini also took 20-25 minutes to arrive after ordering. Just not the tasty food, drinks and service I've come to enjoy here.

We went before a concert. They were very good about asking about timing and if we were going. However, service was very slow. (We overheard them say they were overbooked by 10 reservations.) We finished eating we had plenty of time to order dessert, but we sat at our table with all of our finished plates until we had to plead for the check. Someone gave us caramels to go, but I would have much rather had the bread pudding and good service.

Enjoyed our first visit to a Purple. Made rez on a Sunday prior to Sarah McLachlan concert at Benaroya. Rez was early enough soas not to feel rushed. Glad to have the time to restfully peruse the lengthy wine list. Not many there when we were seated, but full when we departed for the show. Drinks, appetizer, entrees, wine were great. Had the date appetizer for dessert, as suggested by our server - a good idea. Server was very pleasant, informed, offered recommendations when asked... she worked really hard. Had a very nice time. Will come again!

They need to fix there billing service. Charge 20% service charge tax you on it then also add it in the total and tax you again on it ! Is that legal? Manager said he knew it was a problem. Still have not fixed it. Do they want to?

Our server was especially thoughtful of our need to have time for conversation when I told her that my companion has just moved here from Boston, and that we had been friends for more than 60 years.
