Purple Cafe and Wine Bar - Bellevue Ratings and Reviews
The food is artisan and the restaurant is unique and brings you to a whole new level of trendy dinning. Their wine list is insane and I like the recommendations they suggest with every dish on the menu. The flights of wine were fun and the meat and cheese were delightful. The service was fantastic and the servers were very knowledgeable with the wine list.
my only compliant: I have to drive 2 hours from canada to seattle to dine at my fave new restaurant. Purple cafe come to canada!
I came here on a date with my boyfriend for Seattle Restaurant Week and was VERY impressed with the food! We loved everything we got! All 3 courses. Delicious!!!!! Zero complaints. Our waiter was friendly and got our orders right, BUT he was definitely slammed. I think they were under staffed? Or unexpectedly busy? Because we waited a long time for our first drinks and appetizer... Then waited 20-30 minutes for the main course and another 20 minutes for desert. Luckily we weren't in any rush but I did not like the long wait between courses. Overall though, we enjoyed our time and will definitely be back!
We came for a group birthday dinner. The service was friendly & fast. The food was very good. What I appreciated most was that we did not feel rushed. Our medium sized party stayed and talked quite a while after we were done dining and did not feel like we were being rushed out or anything.
Love the Seattle Restaurant week offering by Purple. The Risotto with chanterelles was out of this word in the perfect creamy texture. Two of us ordered the prix fixe menu for lunch, with all different choices and split everything like a wonderful tapas treat. Too much food for $18pp for sure.
Went to Purple for an early dinner. It happened to be Seattle Restaurant week and their menu was great. My daughter ordered the mushroom risotto and I ordered the steak and we shared. Both meals were fabulous. The appetizer and the desserts were also wonderful. I also love the extensive list of wines that I can order by the glass.
Server was nice, the food took forever, we were there over 2 hours. I ordered the duck, it was ok, nothing special, undercooked a little, my wife had the Lamb which was really good. We ordered desert and waited another 20 minutes, we were brought some desert wine that we didn't order and waiter came over to us and said it was on him for our food taking so long, which was nice
Met up with some old friends. We wanted a quieter spot so they put us between the wine racks at a 4 person table - PERFECT! We had great conversation and were well attended by our server. Noise level in the main dining room is loud so go for the wine racks. Food was well prepared and excellent. Anything that wasn't right the server made good on it. PArking was fre with the stamp from their garage, but get there early for a spot and have a reservation for your table also.
Dinner for two - Halibut was very good; Duck was too under-cooked although I specifically asked for "well done, no pink" - ate around the edges, took home, completed cooking , and enjoyed next day; duck entree needs a more substantial side than just lentil peas - I was still hungry after dinner. Entree portions were too small for the prices.
The lunch menu portions were very small. The food at Purple is always very good, however, I wish I had just ordered off the regular menu, rather than the much menu.
The noise level in the Bellevue Purple is very high, compared to their wonderful Woodinville location.
So color me disappointed with what should have been one of my favorite restaurants.
I arrived early and the doors were open: however, I was told by the hostess : ‘we open in 10 minutes’. It seems that there should be a place to sit and wait; particularly if the doors are open. The chairs outside were cabled.
The menu is commendable and the food was good.
Had dinner at Purple Bellevue for our 27th wedding anniversary. I had won a $125 gift certificate to Purple as part of a raffle recently, so decided our anniversary would be a good way to use the money. Food was really good. The heirloom tomato salad, which we shared, was fresh and tasty, really loved the basil, kalamata olive spread that was served with it. Our entrees were also very good. Noise level was a little bit of a challenge, as I had a hard time hearing the waiter and my wife and I had to speak louder than normal to communicate. All in all a great meal in a trendy place. We definitely would consider coming back.
It wasn't crowed so that was a good thing. Regardless, noise level is not a good thing. Turkey club tasted like maybe it was bad but could have been what else was on sandwich itself. Tomato soup was just ok. Loved the grilled cheese. Cobb salad was delicious. Would be good to serve with steak knife if you order flank steak to top the salad.
