Purlieu
Lovely neighborhood find
We really enjoyed the food and the service was great. Our only comment is that it was extremely noisy,
You could not carry on a conversation with your date.
Once again excellent in every way. So happy it's doing so well
Our daughters birthday dinner was excellent. Shared a few starters and 3 of the fellow diners enjoyed one of the pastas. Large portions. Mussels and fries were excellent.
Welcome addition to the deep SW of Calgary. Our 2nd visit in the past 3 weeks. Keep up the great work! See you again soon.
This was our first time trying Purlieu. We shared a variety of appetizers and salads and had the burger for a main dish. I love a good burger and this is definitely one of the best in the city. Great little neighbourhood gem!
I have been to this restaurant twice since the opening. I love the decor, and the general feel of the restaurant. I ordered small plates the first time and I have to say the muscles, and the white bean hummus are a MUST! The second time I went there I had the lamb. I'm not usually a but lamb fan, but I was sharing with my husband. It was also fantastic. Great date location or with a small group of friends. Lots of parking after 5pm, which is kind of nice compared to looking for parking at a downtown restaurant.
I loved this restaurant! Food was excellent. Service was very good. We tried an appetizer, 2 entrees, and a dessert - all really good. I gave it 4/5 for ambience- definitely it was fairly loud. This doesn't bother me at all but my husband found it louder than he likes. Overall, I loved it and definitely will be back.
Excellent presentation. Food was outstanding. We both had the mussels in curry broth. Can’t wait to go back.
Great little restaurant tucked away in Oakridge. Loved the mussels and fries, and calamari appetizers. The cod was cooked perfectly! Waiter did a great job without being intrusive. Definitely going back!
Only negative is that the windows look out over the parking lot and a nail salon. The shelving at the front does a great job of camouflaging some of it while still letting in lots of light. Perhaps something similar on the other set of windows would help?
Read about it in the Calgary Herald and was blown away. It’s a downtown restaurant without the price and parking of downtown. The Calamari and Crème Brûlée were a HIT, and the price point was fair. Hidden gem in Oakridge, for sure!
The restaurant small as it is was full. Every table was occupied but they had only one gal working serving.
I was so glad to find this new restaurant In the neighbourhood! This small place was a true gem. With a packed house for a Tuesday in the middle of the summer, it was worth it! The menu had a good selection of small plates and mains, tiny bit if Asian fusion, Italian and French inspired dishes beautifully plated and with delicious flavours, sauces and textures. The soup of the moment, a tomato bisque was awesome! The duck confit steamed buns were delicious “taco” shaped bites. The Canalinini (first I had heard of it) broccollini crossed with cauliflower with a delicious chick pea and spicy aioli was also surprisingly bold in flavour. The chocolate beet cake did not disappoint with peanut butter icing and creme brûlée crusted fresh banana. It was a true delight for a birthday dinner outside of the core. I will be back for date night with hubby, and they also serve lunch and brunch on weekends.
Great Restaurant, love having it on our neighborhood and walking to this great little Bistro! Beautiful little room, but a bit on the expensive side with downtown pricing.
A wonderful addition to the Oakridge area! Thank you for adding a little zing into the culinary scene in this neck of the woods. Superb service - knowledgeable and efficient staff. Great ambiance. Had a slight hiccup with the main dish, but the server rectified the situation very effectively. The Humbolt calamari and white bean hummus are must-try starters. Will be back!
Love the neighborhood vibe of the restaurant, great service & really good food. The kale Caesar salad, meatballs, soups, bread, burger, fries, pastas & creme brûlée are delicious.
Tremendous cozy addition to the neighbourhood with a tasty and eclectic menu! Enjoyed the Kale Caesar salad and Calamari (shared), followed by the delicious and perfectly cooked wild cod. Staff were attentive, friendly and offered details and advice on the menu. Will definitely return and recommend to friends.
Great food, Price's are good for Calgary. Cute and unique.
