Everyone's food was superb, no exceptions. Service was also excellent.
The tasting menu was well constructed, lots of variety of flavors and textures. Drinks were excellent
Really enjoyed P&Co! Menu was diverse, but not overwhelming. Flavors were delicious and a drink menu was solid. LOVED the crab cavatelli.
We had the tasting menu with pairings, $220 base price. Add initial wine, coffee, tip, other and the bill was $370. The experience took two hours plus, and was delayed slightly by the coffee rebrewing that failed to arrive with our dessert, which prompted the owner-manager(?) to say someone was waiting for our table.
The manager Dave made my evening extra special!!! Brought flowers over to surprise my date and he helped with the vase and sneaking it onto the table. Thank you Dave!
The food is exquisite. I frequent Puritan and Co and even took food out during the pandemic. Their innovation with desserts shouldn’t be missed!!
Puritan and Co should be on your list. You’re missing out otherwise !!!
My wife and I love P&Co. Excellent staff and incredibly food. We had the house made swordfish pastrami, seared halibut, duck breast and a ricotta/corn meal torte with a plum sauce. Yum!
Puritan & Co is our favorite restaurant and is our Anniversary tradition since the first one in 2013. Every year is outstanding and every year we say "we have to come back before the anniversary!" This time was no different, the flavor combinations are other-worldly and the service is the perfect balance of checking in but not overbearing, with significant humor this time (she seriously had the best one-liners!).
Servers were absolutely amazing! Such great recommendations and a great time. The food was amazing and the location was so cute. Favs were the parker rolls, burrata, mushroom egg toast, and crab cavatelli
I've been wanting to eat here since reading about them, but pandemic issues and timing was never quiet right. On a whim, I booked and headed down with a good book. I decided on the tasting menu and it was a perfect complement to the end of the week and a new book. The staff checked on me, but was never too intrusive, respecting my joy of food and reading. I'd recommend this place for small gatherings or individual incursions, as my quick observations around the space indicated they hired a great group of people focused on service for each parties' needs. In my opinion, that's one of the hardest qualities to teach and they have it in spades.
Nice outdoor setting on the sidewalk/street. The drinks were good but a little on the sweet side. The wine by the glass was great.
Average food, no energy and aloof staff. Every other Cambridge and Somerville restaurant beats P&C!
Puritan & Company is consistently one of the best meals I have in the Boston area. Parking sucks.
Everything about my experience was phenomenal. From our amazing server, Hannah, to the lovey bartenders who were very conscious of my dietary restrictions. We ended up getting everything they recommended and the geez, it was delicious! I’ll definitely be back!
Puritan never disappoints. One of the best restaurants in Boston! Interesting menu, excellent wine, and outstanding service.
Great atmosphere and unusual combinations of food - swordfish pastrami?!
Wonderful outdoor seating area, great dishes - just the right portion size
Very good wine list.
The food was wonderfully delicious and wine list was quite nicely done. They were able to accommodate gluten free, dairy free beautifully without subtracting flavor. The flavors of my meal were unexpected and melded beautifully together. The GF dinner rolls were the most delicious I’ve had. The texture and flavor were wonderful. I will absolutely have dinner here again. Well done!
Dinner and drinks were excellent. Our server Davis was amazing! He went above and beyond to accommodate a guest who had dietary limitations. Nice outdoor seating area. Highly recommend!
Have been here at least five times, and every time the entire experience was excellent. A fine New England ambience coupled with inventive and tasty menu and short but thoughtful wine list does the trick for us. Plus the service in these Covid challenged times was still quite good given the shortage of help. A true Cambridge and Boston area gem.
Amazing food, smooth drinks, a delightful dining experience.
Every course was well portioned and delicious. Service was attentive. We sat outside and the seating was good. Will easily come back!
Decided to eat at very comfortable bar even though we had reserved a table. Several unique dishes – swordfish pastrami/crispy fried octopus. Great service team. Great vibes. Leave extra time to park as it's located on Cambridge Street's "restaurant row".
Had dinner last week upon a recommendation: I needed to find a place that was vegan-friendly, had good Covid protocols and near parking. Puritan checked all those boxes.
They had a tofu Caprese salad for my friend, which had abundant fresh tomatoes. I thought the kitchen could have done more with the tofu. I had the crab toast, which was great. For our entrees, she got a risotto that was rich but she really liked it. I had the cod, which was very flavourful and had a beautiful presentation.
We might have stayed for dessert but it was quite warm in the restaurant all evening. That was my one issue with the place. They kept the door open so the staff could go outside to serve the customers who were dining al fresco. But that made for a lot of wasted a/c and the large space not being sufficiently cooled. They did say something about a big fan, which was in the room behind us but too far away to cool us off. The waiter did bring big glasses of ice after I asked for something to cool down.
I'd definitely go back but when I can either dine comfortably outdoors or not worry about needing the a/c inside.
Our first time dining there but for us a wonderful find. The service was very good as was the food. Very fresh and creative. Interesting wine list which the staff is happy to explain. Would definitely return .
On a beautiful summer night we enjoyed our patio seating and delicious dinner! The oysters were outstanding, The burrata sumptuous, and steak and haddock done very well. The sides were also really lovely. We had the cheesecake with fresh blueberries and it was the perfect end to our meal! Thank you for what felt like a real treat!
Excellent service … lovely selection of wines. Well balanced finely made cocktails delicious mains
Amazing quality food at a relatively affordable price point. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and friendliness of service.
Servers are very nice and knowledgeable in the wine list, great recommendations. Hostess initially refused to seat us in a shady area outdoors.
Flavor and presentation of food was excellent.
Meal was great - highly recommend the Steak. Dessert was mediocre but did not detract from otherwise great experience.
The kitchen had a few errors but the manager was very happy to help and fix the issues. Service was terrific and food very goof
Everything was on point! Food, drinks, portions, etc. Service was also incredible - you could really see that everyone worked well as a team.
It's always a pleasure to dine at Puritan and Company anytime I'm in Boston. The Chef's Tasting Menu is a great way to explore different flavors. I could have made an entire meal out of the delicious Parker House rolls! Although each course was delightful, I absolutely loved the seafood risotto. It was an "umami bomb" of scallops with truffle. Of note, the wine list is well curated and provides a great pairing with each dish. Service as always was friendly, knowledgable, and attentive. I highly recommend Puritan and Company, and look forward to returning as soon as possible.
Everything was absolutely delicious and our waiters were wonderful. Our favorite dishes were the crab cavatelli, burrata, and the truffle crab.
Drinks and appetizers were outstanding but my companion and I were both underwhelmed by our main courses. Beautiful space, would definitely come back to sit at the bar for a drink and a snack, but would go elsewhere for dinner.
This restaurant has remained a top choice in Boston for a reason! We had a late reservation so it was on the empty side but the food was creative & delicious and we appreciated the smaller menu. My husband loved his steak and the duck with very good. The decor was also really lovely. The weather was great that night and we really appreciated the windows being open. I can see this spot becoming a favorite of ours!
Excellent selection of wine and creative dishes with great outdoor seating for the pandemic.
Everything was delicious. We had a great experience and will definitely return if we are back in Boston.
We enjoyed celebrating our 21 wedding anniversary @ Puritan. The food was amazing, thx to the chef for adjusting to my desire to avoid cheese. We had a terrific waiter who added to our evening immensely with thoughtful suggestions and the perfect balance of being there at just the right time.
We will be back!
