Great food and incredibly gracious and accommodating staff. Thank you!
Puritan and Co was a bit on the pricey side, but the food was incredible. Three friends and I were celebrating graduation and ordered a bunch of starters and an entree to share, and each dish was better than the last.
I've heard great things about their tasting menu, too.
While not every dish we got was a hit (the scallop crudo in particular was not great- had no flavor other than fishy oiliness) the presentations were pretty and the portion sizes reasonable. The Swordfish pastrami was a lot of fun and we really liked the pesto burrata. The sticky toffee pudding was also delicious.
We didn't feel rushed or abandoned, and the noise level was better than most places. It was nice to be able to sit and chat without screaming in each other's ears.
We had the 6 course tasting menu with the 6 matching wines. Everything was imaginative and excellent (the portions were a bit too big, but that's better than too small). The waiter gave a detailed description of each wine as he served it.
Had a great time and interesting menu that was not extensive but very well executed. Good service and friendly moderately formal service which suites the style of this restaurant very well. You can tell the staff enjoy what they are doing and care about their customers. Overall a strong 4/5.
Food was ok, but very salty. Sommelier took 15 minutes to get us to a good option - seemed to upsell higher priced wines. The place charges a 3% kitchen staff fee, which is absolutely absurd. If you want to pay the kitchen staff more, don't pass that on to the customers, pay them more! Valet said it was $10 but restaurant charger me $13. Overall, very disappointed.
Delicious meal, attentive but not intrusive service, pleasant atmosphere.
Enjoyed the delicious well thought out creative offerings beautifully presented. All 4 thoroughly
enjoyed each of our 8 dishes including Swordfish Pastrami, Cavatelli, Cod....the only drawback was the very low lit setting (we were a table away from the window at 6pm). Perhaps we were all too photo kinetic but we all were ready to go home to crash & missed out on the dessert offerings. Perhaps bump up the watts?
Staff very knowledgeable-especially the gentleman describing the wines. They also, very thoughtfully, upgraded us to a cozy table for two when the reservation app on my phone only allowed for counter seating. That said, the counter did fill up very quickly with what appeared to be happy counter dwellers when there were still tables available.
Food was delicious and creative--lamb and spring peas in some carrot puree--not something I've had at every other restaurant. It was a bit pricey, though--$30 for entrees. We thought this a bit high for Cambridge Street in Cambridge, MA. We'd go back again sometime, though. Harvard Square has become so full of corporate chains--Cambridge Street, Inman Square and Kendall Square are much more interesting now.
Puritan and Company was wonderful. Food was delicious and the service was great. I was there for an anniversary and it was exactly what we were looking for. Overall solid dining experience, 10/10 would recommend.
We had the tasting menu which they tailored to our food restrictions. Every dish was presented beautifully and after 6 courses, we were more than satiated. Service was attentive. Restaurant has a casual vibe but very comfortable, quiet.
We had a wonderful experience at Puritan & Company. The wine list is hand-crafted and truly amazing—- top-quality wines from all over the world, with a focus on American wines from April to September. Lots of great selections from all over California and the West Coast. We had pastas at our table, and they were top notch. The sunflower pesto strozzapretti and the carrot cavatelli with lamb Raghu were both original and lush. It’s nice to find a kitchen that wants to take something that is so often pedestrian (like pasta) and transform it into something unique. The mushroom pate as a starter was also a winner. The place really fills up starting at 6:30 or so—- it pays to be early. We didn’t sit at the counter, but that looked like fun. Puritan is good value for money and a nice night out.
We did the tasting menu. Delicious! Really enjoyed every dish. Great ambiance. Certainly would recommend.
Our go to restaurant for special occasions
Great food and service! Highly recommend it to all :-)
Great dishes. Cocktails were wonderful. Overall very interesting and creative dishes. Definitely will be back. Very laid back atmosphere and friendly. Everyone helps each other to serve customers. I like the vibe
Great brunch - everything we ordered was fantastic! Highly recommend the pastries.
Food was really good except for the salad that was super bland (they take out of the check). The restaurant's service has its fault but they always fixed them. The only thing I did not like was the tables, the booth is uncomfortable.
Great meal. Excellent portions, not too large or too small.
Excellent food, if overpriced. We went on a holiday when they had a prefixed brunch menu. The choices were excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite. $50/pp not including any beverage for a 3 course brunch was a little steep.
Our server stressed us out on Easter Sunday brunch. He had a strange demeanor and did not make us feel welcome. I don’t think I will be returning- which stinks because the food and rose sangria was so good! Bad service sticks with you!
We had a great Easter brunch. The food was wonderful.
Puritan & Co was super accommodating for our group as it increased from the reservation. They seated us immediately and found a way to keep us together over the course of the evening. Their Dine Out Boston menus was excellent all around, the dishes were hearty but fresh, and there was a variety of drink options. So glad that we finally had the opportunity to try this local gem!
Great service, still wish the stuff is an open table because open table is awful
Truly poor service.
Great overall experience from service to food.
Delightful, as always! Good coffee and great brunch fare (pastry basket!!!).
Best pastries in town, Sunday Brunch not to be missed. Everything else is also delicious, dinner and brunch but the incredible pastries deserve a big shout out! They are always spectacular...
Counter seating was great. Ryan was especially great and gave us a lot of great details about the food, we really enjoyed our time!
Terrific experience. Will definitely be back
The food was cooked perfectly amd wine pairing for dine out Boston was a steal!
We had a good time celebrating my 40th birthday! $1 Oysters on Tuesday were awesome and Great Cocktails!
Great service, food, and location. I made a reservation a few days before, because we had a family member visiting from the UK, and wanted a nice Sunday brunch. We arrived on time, and were promptly seated. The service was excellent -- attentive without hovering, relaxed and friendly, all despite the restaurant being quite busy. The good was excellent as always -- the cinnamon buns are highly recommended. This was the first time we've been seated at the front of the restaurant, which was very nice -- good people watching.
Food was above average, but also too greasy/buttery/heavy, and the kitchen was excruciatingly slow. They were working very hard, but it didn't seem like they had a good system in place. For how simple the food was, it should have come out a lot faster (less than 45 minutes).
My mother and I were in on a Friday night and had the best time! Great table up front perfect for people watching. The food was delicious from start to finish and we remarked on how attentive the whole staff was. Not just our lovely server Gray, but everyone who worked there! We felt very well taken care of. This was not out first time in to dine and it won’t be the last! Thanks Puritan! Keep doin what you’re doin
Very nice food.
We always come to Puritan & Co for our anniversary, it's now our tradition starting with the first year. We'd heard about their brunch and kept saying we wanted to try it, so we finally made it happen. Unfortunately it wasn't nearly as outstanding as the dinner service (which is still among the absolute best in Boston), which kind of surprised us. The food was just OK, kind of bland actually, and the service felt kind of rushed. The seating is very tight, so I guess we've been spoiled with the anniversary dinners, and it's difficult to hear conversation in that setting. We still without a doubt love them for dinner, but the brunch was a miss for us.
Delish!! Hard to talk at the bar seating area
Puritan never disappoints! It's become our go-to place for Sunday brunch. (I'm guessing dinner is wonderful, too!)
This is my second time at this restaurant. It is a great addition to Cambridge. Space is really well laid out. Tables are not jammed together. The decor is fun with touches such as old file folders to house the menu. The food is delicious and always different whenever you come.
