The food was great, we ordered a bunch of the "starts" and shared them... Our waiter was Greg and he was the best!
In a meal full of incredible foods, the cornbeef cheesesteak was definitely the start among stars. It's one of the top 5 best things I've ever eaten.
Food was delicious, in particular the unlimited parker house rolls (!!!) and duck breast entree; wine was also great, and sommelier was very knowledgeable. Great experience!
Amazing, varied menu offerings, a mature bar staff (they know how to make anything well) and an attentive waitstaff adds up to a magical experience every time I go.
We did not know about Puritan; our daughter, as she often does, gave us a gift certificate to the restaurant. We invited some friends and went to Sunday brunch. It was wonderful. Each of our choices was delicious and plentiful. We would go back in a heartbeat and will recommend to friends.
And we are receiving nothing in return for this review !
The cinnamon roll was very good, and the coffee was average. The best dish was the fish tacos, if you go here for brunch that’s probably the move.
Our server, Sarah (or so we think), was such a gem. We were celebrating some birthdays and had a group of nine folks. Our food was timed impeccably, our energy was always encouraged, and we just had a spectacular time. The food is spectacular.
Ordered duck entree. It was inedible (could not even cut it with a steak knife, it was so tough). Charged full price.
There were only 2 tables including myself. The room temperature was like being inside a refrigerator. Asked if they would at least turn off the rotating blade fan directly in front of me, but the management refused—stating then the kitchen would become too hot. I was in the very front of the restaurant, the kitchen was all the way to the rear.
The waitress said as she handed me the check, “Next time it will be better.” I replied, “There will be no next time.”
Truly delicious meal in a beautiful space! Surprise stunner were the smoked beets! The chocolate coconut dessert may also be the best ending treat I have ever tasted. Experience lived up to the recommendation in the Boston restaurant listings!
Hands down the best pastries I've ever had. If you come for brunch you need to get the pastry basket. Kouign amann and the cinnamon roll are an absolute must. You went be let down.
Visiting from Chicago
Sarah K. was the BEST! She was so pleasant and gave us excellent recommendations. She was extremely knowledgeable and competent. I have not had service like that in a while around Boston. Really exemplar. The food was very delicious as well. I recommend it highly.
Great good and ambience! Creative dishes with interesting flavor combinations. Servers were very attentive and responded quickly to all our requests.
Nothing comparable in Boston. Nice venue, real talents in the kitchen friendly and stylish service.
One of my favorite local hangouts. Very good food, very reasonable portions at prices that compare favorably with other local places of similar quality and a big discount to downtown Boston. Where this place really shines is the service — friendly, attentive, but not cloying — and solid attention to detail (bartender accommodates allergies and special requests and delivers drinks tableside; hostess and servers interplay unobtrusively, but well; the playlist matches the restaurant’s laidback and low key vibe. Great value in their prix fix “Sunday dinner,” but interesting flavors abound. Highly recommend.
My friend and I decided to split a pastry basket, and a side of potatoes and fruit salad. Portions were generous and everything was delicious.
The food at Puritan is outstanding and the service is even better -- attentive, knowledgeable, friendly, there when you need them, more than pleasant.
However, I think the latest tasting menu needs improvement.
We had the tasting menu Saturday night 6/22. While each dish was terrific, there wasn't a lot of flavor variation among them. Every dish was heavily umami, so I didn't get a feeling of delight with a new course.
I was looking for something sweet or acid to give some variation to the delicious monotony. (Even some sorbet between courses would have helped.)
I look forward to more variety on my next visit, which I hope will be soon.
Wonderful wine list. Excellent food. Lovely casual ambiance.
We had the chefs course, beautiful presentation, flavorful and the service was outstanding. Highly recommend!
Not a very extensive wine list (by the glass) but I was guided in the right direction to a French wine after describing my taste — and it was great so no complaints! I had the burrata appetizer and it was fantastic! My main entree was the Alaskan Salmon and it was absolutely perfect. The food took awhile because there was a large private event in the back room. Our server explained this to us and we were totally cool with it and yet she still sent over an appetizer on the house. Not necessary but so much appreciated! Great ambiance.
The service was slow, our order was incorrect and the food was mediocre. After the food came the server paid little attention to us. I have to say, I was hoping for a better experience especially since they are known for their brunch!
The brunch was absolutely fantastic. The portions were very filling and a little on the large side if you want to try their amazing pastries. I highly recommend the kouign amann.
It's my favorite place in Cambridge. Hands down. Menu was great, ambiance was great, the service was great. Puritan and Co is consistently a homerun.
Amazing food, friendly staff. We enjoyed everything from starters through dessert
Chef's table seats at 6p was perfect. Low noise, fast service, excellent wine list with a wide price range, and yummy courses and deserts. Will definitely go back.
It was a solid “date night” location without separating itself from the pack. I was hoping it might be a step or two better than restaurants where I live in Jamaica Plain. It was about the same quality, but a little more expensive, and the service was only ok. The negroni was great though. I would go again for sure, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.
Perfect place for a sunday brunch
Love it !
Food was outstanding, and the portions were bigger than I anticipated. Typically when you order duck, you tend to get skimped. This what not the case with the hash, which was awesome. The rose sangria was exceptional. Bathrooms have a weird setup and the light was broken, but I'm definitely recommending this place for a brunch date.
Bring several people with you so you can split the pastry basket and try a little of everything.
The food and service was amazing! Not a single complaint :)
We had a good time. Food portions were smaller than I was expecting, but service was good and the drinks were great.
An excellent place with a very nice menu. Seafood is really fresh and the Tomahawk was amazing!
Great food, staff, loved all!!
This place was phenomenal. Not only was the dinner that best in every way that I've had as long as I can remember, but the service was amazing and everything was basically perfect
Loved it a month ago not so great this past weekend. Will come back again.
I went here on a date on a Friday and used OpenTable for the res. P&Co did a great job of working with our dietary restrictions (no gluten, no dairy.) Everyone we interacted with knew enough about the items on the menu to recommend dishes that fit or could be changed to fit our needs. We had excellent meal for a good price!
My only regret is that I didn’t eat more. Everything was delicious and the service was fantastic!
A gem of a restaurant! Our servers were attentive to us and passionate about the experience of the tasting menu—they really talked us through each delicious creation. Already looking forward to the next visit.
So glad I finally made it here & can't wait to go back! We did the chef's tasting menu and the quality of food for the price is a wonderful value! Can't recommend enough.
