We got the chef’s five course tasting menu and the wine pairing that goes with it and WOW, what an amazing experience. The food was incredible, the service was perfect. No complaints.
I was concerned when we arrived because we were celebrating a special evening with my daughter. The atmosphere wasn’t ‘fancy’ but at 9 pm all their tables were still full. I had no need to worry, dinner was incredible. Everyone was very happy with their dishes but the grilled halibut in a bowl of clam chowder is not to be missed! Thank you for a wonderful evening
Spectacular restaurant, our first time dining for our anniversary and we were treated wonderfully! Service was A+, food was incredible and the ambience was enchanting. We were very impressed and had a lovely evening. Highly recommend.
Great to be back at this tried and true spot - great food, drink and ambience!
Food was spot on. Excellent service and ambiance. Will be back
Very good staff. Lively atmosphere. Comfortable tables. Feeling of privacy amidst a busy restaurant. Excellent food and drink, from cocktails to dessert!
Every item on the menu seems to be prepared beautifully, with interesting combinations, like the yummy squash puree with the burrata cheese starter. My dining companions were exuberant about the steak and halibut selections. My honeynut risotto was delicate and flavorful, with fried sage and candied pistachios. The desserts were utterly amazing. The wine list by the glass is small but distinguished. Wine by the bottle list is vast and interesting. We will be back.
This was our second time going to Puritan, and our first time getting the chef's tasting menu. Everything was delicious and our server was great! Can't wait to go back again.
The food was fantastic. The heaters outside kept us warm to a point, but good enough for November in Cambridge!
Birthday…. They forgot
We had an absolutely incredible experience. Our family doesn’t get to see each other enough and we were celebrating a ton of special occasions. The food was perfect but David is the one who really created the memories. From fun and creative wine recommendations to making sure everyone had fun the meal wouldn’t have been what it was without him.
Excellent service; they helped make our anniversary special. The food and drink exceeded expectations as well.
A bit of a rough start after we were promptly seated. Had to ask for a server and the manager, David, couldn’t have been more humble in taking care of us himself. We were also given the wrong wine list. I swear that David was so embarrassed. But he made it all the better with him personality and charm. The food was fantastic, and the atmosphere was really nice, simple yet remarkable and clean. Josh made one heck of a Sazerac behind the bar. I would come back or recommend in a heartbeat.
The server was super lovely and accommodating - it couldn’t have been better. Food also as usual fab! Thank you!!!
The five course chef's special was mediocre unfortunately. The final savory dish was a duck breast that was chewy and lacking in flavor. I would likely give this restaurant another chance, but I was disappointed this visit.
Beautiful space and fantastic meal. P&Co never disappoints. I’ve been many times and will continue to go back to try the latest gustatory sensation.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Puritan & Company and we are very pleased our dining experience. The meal presentation, quality of ingredients and service were all exceptional. We highly recommend the Octopus appetizer (sweet & sour grapes, black sesame, orange, herb salad & a cilantro based sauce). It was fantastic...easily the best preparation we have had with octopus. I ordered the Pan-roasted halibut (swiss chard, clam chowder, bacon lardons ) It was served sauted on the clam chowder - delicious! My wife enjoyed the Seared Scallops and they were superb. Our wait person (Mark) was knowledgeable and attentive - his recommendations were spot-on. You will not be disappointed - it was a great evening.
Wonderful meal and a good job of making outdoor seating work in October. I had the pan-roasted halibut, which was superb. We shared some desserts, all of which were outstanding.
The food, atmosphere, and service was great! However, our server assumed our genders and called us "ladies" throughout the meal which is really surprising for Cambridge in 2021. My friend, whose birthday we were celebrating, is non-binary. We corrected our server 3 times and they never corrected and even tried to make a point (?) by using our names on our credit cards when returning them which was awkward and uncomfortable. I wish my friend did not have to deal with this discomfort and being mis-gendered on their birthday. It made me sad. Puritan and Co., do better.
The best! I love this place. Pork chop was so yummy and their cocktails are fabulous!
Outdoor seating (by choice) to safely celebrate our anniversary. Cold night. Heat lamps were not quite strong enough to make it warm and toasty, so I was glad that we came prepared with scarfs, hats and warm coats. We chose the tasting + wine. Wine came delayed a couple of times, but serving staff was really nice about it and seemed to be doing their best. Somewhat expected an extra course as compensation, but was never offered. Surprised by some of the choices in the tasting, but enjoyed it. Tuna crudo was lights out - one of the best bites I have had in a long time. The pasta course looked amazing but tasted a touch watery. Scallops were our second favorite course. A touch too salty for me, but that didn’t stop me from cleaning my plate. Pairings were excellent - when timed properly. Overall, enjoyed our meal and would return to explore more of the menu.
Amazing food, beginning to end. Charcuterie board was eclectic and generous, and Parker house rolls were out of this work. The pork chop and steak were perfectly cooked, and the gratin was incredible. The best part was the tres leches carrot cake at the end!
Great meal, everything was outstanding. Excellent cocktails and food. Our waiter Dave was very good as well. Puritan & Company is always on point!
Food was underwhelming. I got the scallops and they were small, cold, and overpriced. The steak was average. Atmosphere and wait staff were nice.
Everything was delicious! Scallop ceviche was my fave. And for beverages, we were so crushed to learn that the cherry and black pepper hard cider we were enjoying was out of production. Made it that much more special!
Excellent food and service. Very attentive wait staff.
Another great dining experience at Puritan and Company! The ever evolving tasting menu is the way to go, featuring a variety of flavors built on quality, well sourced ingredients. Oh, and the Parker House Roll with cultured butter and a glass of wine could be good enough for a stand alone meal! The wine list is really well curated and offers a variety of old world as well as some natural focused domestic producers. Service was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable.
Everything we had was delicious. Wish we had gotten buratta for everyone at the table. For sure would return if ever in Cambridge again.
In a relaxing, warm, modern space where staff is well trained and kind, it is the perfect set up to enjoy the deliciousness of everything from drinks to dessert.
Food was excellent, service was minimal and lacking for this price point of restaurant. After we received our food, our server didn't return until we asked for the check. Ambiance is okay - a little too noisy for my personal taste.
The server was distracted. The drinks took way too long to arrive, even though all the tables weren't full. The kitchen must have been understaffed, because it took forever for the food to arrive. Three of the four entrees arrived cold! The manager was wandering around helping clean tables, but must have been oblivious to the overall service situation. No one came to apologize for the delays before or after the food arrived. The appetizers were great. The food was creative. BUT THE FOOD WAS COLD AND ARRIVED WAY TOO LATE!!!! Our party of four had six total drinks and no dessert; but the bill was over $300.00. P.S. there is an automatic 5% kitchen fee added to the bill. I am all for the back of the house getting paid, but include that in your menu pricing. The online menu does not reflect this, so expect your bill to be 5% higher. Our meal took over TWO hours, for whatever reason, but we weren't dallying. We eat in similar restaurants two to four times a month. Even by pandemic standards this evening was unacceptable, but worst of all the staff didn't seem to notice or care. I don't know which is worse?
Amazing service and amazing food
Everyone's food was superb, no exceptions. Service was also excellent.
The tasting menu was well constructed, lots of variety of flavors and textures. Drinks were excellent
Really enjoyed P&Co! Menu was diverse, but not overwhelming. Flavors were delicious and a drink menu was solid. LOVED the crab cavatelli.
We had the tasting menu with pairings, $220 base price. Add initial wine, coffee, tip, other and the bill was $370. The experience took two hours plus, and was delayed slightly by the coffee rebrewing that failed to arrive with our dessert, which prompted the owner-manager(?) to say someone was waiting for our table.
The manager Dave made my evening extra special!!! Brought flowers over to surprise my date and he helped with the vase and sneaking it onto the table. Thank you Dave!
The food is exquisite. I frequent Puritan and Co and even took food out during the pandemic. Their innovation with desserts shouldn’t be missed!!
Puritan and Co should be on your list. You’re missing out otherwise !!!
My wife and I love P&Co. Excellent staff and incredibly food. We had the house made swordfish pastrami, seared halibut, duck breast and a ricotta/corn meal torte with a plum sauce. Yum!
Puritan & Co is our favorite restaurant and is our Anniversary tradition since the first one in 2013. Every year is outstanding and every year we say "we have to come back before the anniversary!" This time was no different, the flavor combinations are other-worldly and the service is the perfect balance of checking in but not overbearing, with significant humor this time (she seriously had the best one-liners!).
