We have not visited in a while and were very pleased that the quality of the food and service has not changed; it was excellent.

Overall, we had a good night out, but that was mostly due to our company and a lovely server. The food was just okay for the cost both in taste and portion, and I think we ended up paying more than necessary for drinks with the upsell to a bottle of wine vs. by the glass in terms of what we got for what we paid. Service and ambiance were great, I just think that the prices are a bit overconfident for what is delivered. This is our second time there, and I recall feeling similarly last time.

The food is amazing and always delivers. The waitress was so funny and was top notch. The hostess would not honor our request for another table that didn’t even get filled while we were dining there. Also every single chair was wobbly. They need to invest in some new chairs. We all felt like we were going to break them.

Great service, but terrible value. Entire menu is very, very expensive. The food is nothing special. Ordered 16 or 18 oz. steak for two with potatoes and rapini. I tasted some fake hickory flavor in my mouth for the entire next day, and the potatoes weren't even cooked all the way through - they had that toughness of an undercooked potato. For $75, I definitely expect more. I will probably not be going back.

One of the few places in Boston that still prepares Brussels sprouts with finesse and respect instead of deep frying my fave vegetable to death. Sure they serve a lot of hearty meat and seafood here (I have enjoyed the lamb t-bone before), but their vegetarian offerings are reliably delicious, expertly cooked, creative, and filling. Always with an important contrast of crunchy and creamy! You'll find Brussels sprouts *perfectly* charred, with a tasty spice mix and a smear of soft cheese. (It's tempting to order a second order of Brussels to go, so I can enjoy later.) The roasted cauliflower side with gremolata is toothsome right now, perfectly charred, never mushy / accidentally steamed in an overcrowded pan. {Chef fingertip kiss} The sunchoke bisque with crab was sooooo smooth and creamy with nutty sunchoke flavor! Me vegetarian partner was pleasantly surprised by the flavor and textures and tasty cheese in the best cavatelli. My only criticism is that I there was too much thick dressing on the salad (though every perfect leaf was a work of art tbh). Love this place for a romantic and delicious flexitarian-friendly dinner of large and small plates. Bonus: excellent cocktails and a diversity of beer and wines, including sherry and related styled from Jura and around the world. Ugh love this place so much.

The service and servers were excellent and super nice. The ambience and space was great (low key and quaint). The taste and smells of the food was awesome. There was one thing that could have been better. We had the grilled duck and it was the first time we had duck cooked medium/medium well. Our stomachs weren't used to it cooked that way (and felt slightly off after) so a heads up about that would be good next time. Would still go again. Overall still a great place.

Wonderful brunch. Hard to decide. Too many good things. We have had the duck confit hash, the blueberry pancakes, the quiche and the clothbound scramble. All good. Nice wine list plus bloody marys and mimosas. Friendly and prompt service.

The food was amazing! And it was so nice of our waitress to bring a pastry with a candle in it for my Dad’s birthday. He was so surprised and happy! My only complaint is that it was so loud in there for brunch. The music was up really high. Other than that, it was amazing.

My wife and I enjoyed a great meal this past Saturday night. This place has been on my list for awhile and it didn’t disappoint at all. In fact, probably one of the 10 best restaurant meals I’ve ever had.

We opted for the 6 course tasting menu, which was delicious and reasonably priced. Every course was excellent, but standouts included a homemade cavatappi pasta, roasted cod and a mushroom/duck/egg course that was unlike anything I’ve had before. The dessert was a really interesting flan riff that my wife liked and she almost always goes for chocolate desserts. The service was terrific — our server had only been working there 3 weeks but he knew the menu really well and made helpful recommendations on wine. The vibe was cool and there was good energy but it was quiet enough to hear each other talk.

I’d go back for sure and have already recommended Puritan to a few people.

First, we went here with an Open Table $25 dining reward. It did not work. The restaurant said this happens about 25% of the time. They took 2 glasses of wine off the bill to compensate us which they did not have to do. Get your act together, Open Table, and make sure your gimmicks work. This could have left a bad taste in our mouth that we might have transferred onto the restaurant.

That being said, we loved this restaurant and had a wonderful time. It’s an upbeat, energetic, casual restaurant with amazing food and I wish I lived around the corner so I could walk here once a week. We had the burrata with citrus and the Brussels sprouts for appetizers and the duck breast and the pasta with lamb sugo for mains. The desserts were rose cheesecake and banoffee flan. Everything was fantastic and highly recommended. The ingredients are top notch and the techniques are precise and interesting. Kudos to the pastry chef for really unusual and delicious desserts.

The pastry basket was amazing. Best cinnamon rolls I've ever had! The Boston Creme pastry was delicious as well. My burger was tasty with a perfectly cooked egg and the toast was buttery and crispy.

Great restaurant with fun but classic food. Not great options if you have common allergies, however they work to accomodate! Just end up having a lot of ingredients left out of most dishes.

I was so happy to have booked the Puritan for our dinner - everybody was so pleased with their meal and very sad they wouldn’t be able to come back soon since they’re from out of town!
If you need a suggestion, you can’t really go wrong with anything but the beets were to die for!!!

Really loved it, it was a peak experience! Not inexpensive but we kind of splurged as we are likely to have my son's rehearsal dinner there, so wanted to check it out further. Very nice, we really liked the staff, who appeared to relate very well to each other. Also we noticed on check that there is a 'tax' for kitchen staff--interesting idea and we didn't mind.

Scallop gnocchi was good. Dark ale was great. Great service. Friendly, enthusiastic. The server provided helpful descriptions, suggestions. Downside: seating feels cramped

We had an amazing dinner here for NYE. Their fixed menu was outstanding and the wait staff was helpful. They had something for everyone and all food restrictions were accounted for. This cute place had a range of patrons from some in hoodies and jeans to suits. The cocktails were good and they seemed to have a good selection of wine. Great for family or dates. I really enjoyed dining here and have already recommended it to friends.

This place is beautiful, and I had an amazing first experience here not long after they opened. Unfortunately my recent experience fell short. I made a reservation for a 30th Birthday dinner on Sunday the 29th, and the place was not busy which was nice. Surprisingly with a slow night, the service was very slow, my pork chop was over cooked and dry, and did not live up to my previous experience. For a moderate to high price establishment I expect more out of service and quality of food. Desert was definitely the best presentation out of the entire meal, and was very tasty but just took forever to come out. Hopefully you work out your kinks as this place has a lot of potential.

My girlfriend and I chose Puritan we wanted a place with options for everyone, and a calmer quieter atmosphere even on the weekend so that everyone could talk and hear each other. As expected, Puritan & Co delivered. The food was so tasty, anyone who didn't finish every last bite regretted it. Our server was outstanding, ensuring everyone had a wonderful experience. I'd recommend Puritan & Co for anyone who wants to sit down for a delicious dinner or a sophisticated drink in a welcoming and warm atmosphere.

As usual, Puritan was the perfect place to gather with friends. Peter and the management team run a tight ship and the kitchen is superb including handling gluten allergies (GF fryer included). The food is superb as usual -- interesting and new takes on New England and American cuisine. We are and will continue to be regulars at this excellent restaurant.

The food and service were amazing. When we weren’t sure which wine we wanted, our server brought us a couple to taste. A very classy touch! Everything we had was delicious. The lobster toast, however, left something to be desired, but it was still yummy. We are excited to return soon.
