Stellar service and food!! This was our first time dining at Puritan and Company for brunch. We will definitely be back when we return to Boston.
We couldn't have asked for a better experience dining at the counter watching the food being prepared. The staff was very attentive, friendly and pleasant to chat with. So many delicious options to choose from. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Perfect service and delightful food. Beets were amazing!
It was awesome!
We chose the $75 tasting menu. We were disappointed by the food quality. The salmon crudo was overwhelmed by the avocado. I love avocado, but at this price level I expect to be able to taste the other ingredients. The egg dish was good, the egg cooked to perfection with a really nice yoke. The last two savory dishes (cod and lamb) tasted like uninventive comfort food. Overall, we felt that this was wildly overpriced.
The food was so so. The wait staff however didn't seem to know anything about either the food items or the wine/liquor.
My friend recommended this place couple times so I came here for Sunday brunch. I ordered the pork belly and pablano hash and a biscuit. The pork belly was awesome — the outside was fried to crispy but still juicy inside. Biscuit is great as well, it was hot when I was served. Everything is beyond my expectation and definitely come back for dinner!
Great service and our food (barbecue beets, sirloin, and phyllo-wrapped cod) was all excellent! Really lovely, will come again.
We had a fantastic meal and our waitress was wonderful. We were a party of 6 and 4 of our group arrived late for our reservation. The waitress put us at ease right from the start and gave us excellent service in spite of the delay. Eventually, the hostess had her notify us that they reconfigured the next reservation for our table so we wouldn't have to rush and could relax and enjoy our meal...and we did! Standouts were the desserts which were amazing!
Coming to Puritan and Company is our anniversary tradition, now 7 years in a row. Each time has been phenomenal, and we love how the menu is somewhat similar each time (some items remain, that are awesome, like swordfish pastrami or bluefish pate), but with new items to try. I think the most difficult thing for a restaurant to achieve is consistency, and more than any other restaurant in town, Puritan and Company is just a consistent impressive experience every time, and for this reason it remains our favorite.
Great food. Super service. Cocktails were lethal !
Let me start by saying that we went with a certificate that our kids bought for us after much research. At the end of the evening, the manager came to the table, apologized for the evening and paid four our entire meal in hopes that we will give them another chance, which we probably will.
We went on a Sunday night hoping to get the Prime Rib Sunday special. Well, they didn't have prime rib that day, so they substituted with Rib Eye for that evening, but were out. However, the waitress went in the kitchen and came back and said they could give us Rib Eye after all. The beef turned out to be very good! The sides that came with it, potatoes and vegetables were completely raw and inedible. It also came with a small cheese bread that was good. One manager came to the table and apologized for the potatoes and vegetables being raw and asked what he could do to make it better. At that point we had been eating our beef for a while so we asked if we could just get another one of the cheese breads and guess what? They were all out. We ate meat. That was it! The desserts were OK, nothing to write home about. If they were to be offered to us again we would pass on both. As far as the wine goes, my husband ordered a glass of Shiraz first. The waitress served from a previously opened bottle and the wine tasted like it had gone bad. He then ordered a glass of Cabernet, which was better. Not amazing, but better. I will report next time we go if we go.
Food was beautifully presented. Atmosphere was cool. Wait staff was friendly. Oh how disappointed I was in the service and the Food. Food quality was good. The roll and butter were so good. The beet dish was flavorful. At this point I was ready to give the place a 5 but then came the gnocchi which had little flavor and tasted like potato pancakes. There was no salt near my bar table. The waitress didn’t come back until after my food was fine and didn’t even ask how it was. Wine by the glass was limited. Internet did not work very well. Prices are high and there is a kitchen service charge added to your bill.
We had a wonderful brunch. The pastry selection was incredible with the best pecan roll any of us had ever tasted. The rest of the selections were awesome. Also - we did not get our servers name but she was terrific (dark hair, late 20's - 30ish) and made spot on recommendations. Next time we come to Boston this will be a must visit!
Modern, delicious and "shareable" food. The details are taken into account. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service is impeccable.
I have been before and enjoyed it very much, but this night they were off. It took a long time for the waiter to take our order for drinks, then even longer to get the drink. While we were waiting for drinks, we were handed dessert menus, which were quickly taken away. Being older, I felt a little out of place since the crowd was distinctly on the younger side. The waiter was a little too forward introducing himself and shaking my hand. It just felt weird.
Service was phenomenal. We had indicated on OpenTable that we were celebrating an anniversary and we're greeted with two complementary glasses of Prosecco. Food was delivered to the table very promptly and staff regularly attended to our every need.
We will definitely return!
Great, varied menu right through to dessert and exceptional service for our party of eight.
Loved our experience and the tasting menu.
We met friends we hadn’t seen in 2 years there and the service was excellent. Greg our waiter recognized we had a lot of catching up to do so he was very patient and struck the right balance in stopping by to get our order and letting us catch up. The food was outstanding but the prices were high. It was quite noisy with all of the tables full, but I am in my mid 50’s so I am probably more sensitive to noisy restaurants than others. Would definitely recommend it for a special occasion.
I’m not an easy critic, but I would describe this as one of the best meals I’ve had in several years. Each item was complex, elegant and delicious. I will dream about the Lobster Toast. Run, don’t walk to Puritan.
We love the food at puritan. Excellent vegetable options which are sometimes hard to find. All the food is good, from salads to meat.
One of my favorites, Puritan always provides creative and delicious food in a friendly and comfortable setting. The service is attentive and helpful. Always enjoyable!
Great menu, interesting wine line and an exception dining experience! Would dine here again 👍🏻
The appetizers were awesome and refreshing, the main courses were good but not at the same level as the appetizers.
They did a wonderful job with being creative with the menu.
Always good food and good service.
This was a great dining experience. One dollar oyster special on and then a nice dinner!
The six course tasting menu was a lot of fun and considering it was 6 courses, pretty reasonably priced at 75 dollars per person.
We were fortunate to have had a gift card to this spectacular restaurant! My husband and I both had the rib eye steak...seasoned to perfection. Broccoli Rabe and fingerling potatoes were included. Of course the fabulous rolls are always a hit and they are not skimpy on the butter as a lot of restaurants are! Our waitress Emily suggested wine and it was perfect with our meal. Everyone of the staff is so friendly and professional! Puritan is one of our favorite restaurants ever!!!
Food was unique, well presented and very good! Excellent cocktails and wonderful advice provided on wine pairings. Serving sizes are moderate, not too small. Seating is crowded but it's a casual, comfortable ambience. Would definitely go again and would highly recommend.
The cod wrapped in Phyllo was fantastic. My friend who ordered the Pork chop said it was the best pork chop of his life. Our wives both gave high marks to the Halibut. Oh and the blue fish toast was very good as a starter.
We were here for our anniversary, and enjoyed the food and service very much. We started with oysters and the barbecued beets. The beets were unusual in a good way, with the savory sauce balancing the sweetness of the beets. We shared 2 pasta dishes as entrees: the spinach cavatelli and potato gnocchi. Both were delicately spiced, and the gnocchi had a nice balance of lobster and leeks. We joyed both but would choose the gnocchi over the cavatelli if getting only one. We would come here again next time in Cambridge.
Nice dining experience with good food and nice service
It was a date
Terrific food and brilliant service. The small plates were exceptional and made sharing across our group a lot of fun. The mains were terrific (really loved the duck), the wine exceptional, and the dessert was unique and exciting. I can't wait to go back.
The brunch was disappointing and perhaps it was because it was Labor Day Weekend and valued chefs were out.
We have very much enjoyed dinner here.
This was my second time at Puritan & Co, and it was even better than the first. Of course the food was delicious, but the ambience that the staff create was really amazing. Thanks so much for a wonderful evening.
Great food! Wonderful menu and many options. The dessert was divine!
Food was excellent and innovative. Unfortunately the service was too slow. I feel like I should have rung ahead to say that this was a business dinner in the hope that service could have been quicker and more responsive.
