Amazing brunch - definitely try the pastry basket!
The food was amazing!!! The various food choices were unique and each had amazing flavor. The girls that made deserts and salads were quick, efficient and answered any question we had about the things they were making. Our waiter, Kevin, was also amazing in his knowledge of the menu and his ability to explain all food questions. Chef runs a fabulous kitchen. We were impressed with the amount of work put into each dish. Thank you for a tantalizing treat for our taste buds.
Love this place and our table in particular but on a frigid night it was unfortunately a bit cold by the front window. Also wasn’t crazy about the sole dish...but all other dishes very good and overall a great restaurant with fun vibe for our multigenerational party and attentive waitstaff.
Fabulous meal with great service. Will definitely be back.
Wonderful from start to finish.
Maybe. The food was good but not mind blowing. It's a little over priced for what is it. I had the pork belly hash and my boyfriend had the sourdough griddles cakes. The restaurant was a lot busier and louder than expected.
Overall a very good first time experience. All the food was a grade of “A” except my cavitelli was a B. Will definitely be back!
The restaurant was great!
A great selection of food, from meats to veg; and a wonderful selection of wines and other al. beverages.
Definitely going back.
We both had the lamb.. it was tough and there wasn’t much it it.. The rest of the meal was good.. but it was the worse dinner we had there
The bartender was incredibly rude and off-putting. We asked a few questions about the menu and he gave us some snarky answers. The food was okay, however, I've worked in the service industry and would never treat customers like that.
I'm always impressed by the level of artistry and creativity of the food served at Puritan & Co! I came here with a friend and we got 4 small plates to share. I would recommend doing this to get a sampling of their more creative dishes. We absolutely loved the wild mushrooms, Brussels sprouts, and fried octopus, and the dessert we got was DIVINE (a rich Taza chocolate crémeux). The herb-stuffed burrata was just okay though!
Our second time at Puritan and company did not disappoint. We ordered oysters Barbecue beets and chop salad for appetizers and they were all tasty and delicious . For entree they made me a special vegan dish which was not on the menu but the chef put together few side dishes which had lot of flavor and looked very pretty
The other entrees sirloin steak and gnocchi with scallops also very good . The Neapolitan dessert was not too sweet which was to our liking . The only thing we didn’t like was drinking our martini and straight up margarita out of a water glass instead of martini glass with a very small portion for the price . The service was very warm friendly
Great celebration of the birth of our first grandchild!
Food was good. Portions were small. Service was okay, felt rushed as food came out a little fast. Had a reservation but they couldn't accommodate until 30 minutes after.
Always good. Menu a bit limited but what they do have is good.
Wait staff was first-rate. Friendly, informative and never rushing us. Menu was varied both in food type and portion size. Wine list was extensive and cocktails creative. Last but not least, food was excellent with generous portions.
Overall very good brunch. Great pastries. Lots of space - definitely good for a group of people or family. I did not prefer the music selection which was very 'sports bar' and a little loud and didn't match the decor which had a little bit more of a hipster vibe. Will go here again despite the music.
Loved it ... will keep coming back. The food is terrific with great atmosphere.
Food excellent, particularly interesting orange wine. We will come back next time we’re in Cambridge.
Good food, but the service was intrusive. Server needs to learn how to moderate her approach and learn how to let customers make decisions without interruptions. It's one thing to answer a question, it's another to give a lecture.
Very well done menu, exotic ingredients without going overboard, something for everyone as well.
Stellar service and food!! This was our first time dining at Puritan and Company for brunch. We will definitely be back when we return to Boston.
Creative and delicious food - and amazing dinner rolls!
We couldn't have asked for a better experience dining at the counter watching the food being prepared. The staff was very attentive, friendly and pleasant to chat with. So many delicious options to choose from. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Loved sitting in our corner table for two. Nice waiter and very prompt delivery of dishes by servers. Enjoyed everything from autumn salad to octopus, charred broccoli and lamb ragu orchettie. Think the pasta dish most special and unique but everything so tasty. Loved the buttery Parker rolls and wanted to try sourdough bread and Waiter brought two pieces toasted. Also delicious bread and dont know which one was better. Not too loud. Pretty lighting. Could be new favorite spot. Looking forward to getting there for $1 oyster Tuesdays.
Perfect service and delightful food. Beets were amazing!
It was awesome!
We chose the $75 tasting menu. We were disappointed by the food quality. The salmon crudo was overwhelmed by the avocado. I love avocado, but at this price level I expect to be able to taste the other ingredients. The egg dish was good, the egg cooked to perfection with a really nice yoke. The last two savory dishes (cod and lamb) tasted like uninventive comfort food. Overall, we felt that this was wildly overpriced.
The food was so so. The wait staff however didn't seem to know anything about either the food items or the wine/liquor.
My friend recommended this place couple times so I came here for Sunday brunch. I ordered the pork belly and pablano hash and a biscuit. The pork belly was awesome — the outside was fried to crispy but still juicy inside. Biscuit is great as well, it was hot when I was served. Everything is beyond my expectation and definitely come back for dinner!
Great service and our food (barbecue beets, sirloin, and phyllo-wrapped cod) was all excellent! Really lovely, will come again.
We had a fantastic meal and our waitress was wonderful. We were a party of 6 and 4 of our group arrived late for our reservation. The waitress put us at ease right from the start and gave us excellent service in spite of the delay. Eventually, the hostess had her notify us that they reconfigured the next reservation for our table so we wouldn't have to rush and could relax and enjoy our meal...and we did! Standouts were the desserts which were amazing!
Coming to Puritan and Company is our anniversary tradition, now 7 years in a row. Each time has been phenomenal, and we love how the menu is somewhat similar each time (some items remain, that are awesome, like swordfish pastrami or bluefish pate), but with new items to try. I think the most difficult thing for a restaurant to achieve is consistency, and more than any other restaurant in town, Puritan and Company is just a consistent impressive experience every time, and for this reason it remains our favorite.
Great food. Super service. Cocktails were lethal !
Let me start by saying that we went with a certificate that our kids bought for us after much research. At the end of the evening, the manager came to the table, apologized for the evening and paid four our entire meal in hopes that we will give them another chance, which we probably will.
We went on a Sunday night hoping to get the Prime Rib Sunday special. Well, they didn't have prime rib that day, so they substituted with Rib Eye for that evening, but were out. However, the waitress went in the kitchen and came back and said they could give us Rib Eye after all. The beef turned out to be very good! The sides that came with it, potatoes and vegetables were completely raw and inedible. It also came with a small cheese bread that was good. One manager came to the table and apologized for the potatoes and vegetables being raw and asked what he could do to make it better. At that point we had been eating our beef for a while so we asked if we could just get another one of the cheese breads and guess what? They were all out. We ate meat. That was it! The desserts were OK, nothing to write home about. If they were to be offered to us again we would pass on both. As far as the wine goes, my husband ordered a glass of Shiraz first. The waitress served from a previously opened bottle and the wine tasted like it had gone bad. He then ordered a glass of Cabernet, which was better. Not amazing, but better. I will report next time we go if we go.
Food was beautifully presented. Atmosphere was cool. Wait staff was friendly. Oh how disappointed I was in the service and the Food. Food quality was good. The roll and butter were so good. The beet dish was flavorful. At this point I was ready to give the place a 5 but then came the gnocchi which had little flavor and tasted like potato pancakes. There was no salt near my bar table. The waitress didn’t come back until after my food was fine and didn’t even ask how it was. Wine by the glass was limited. Internet did not work very well. Prices are high and there is a kitchen service charge added to your bill.
We had a wonderful brunch. The pastry selection was incredible with the best pecan roll any of us had ever tasted. The rest of the selections were awesome. Also - we did not get our servers name but she was terrific (dark hair, late 20's - 30ish) and made spot on recommendations. Next time we come to Boston this will be a must visit!
Modern, delicious and "shareable" food. The details are taken into account. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service is impeccable.
I have been before and enjoyed it very much, but this night they were off. It took a long time for the waiter to take our order for drinks, then even longer to get the drink. While we were waiting for drinks, we were handed dessert menus, which were quickly taken away. Being older, I felt a little out of place since the crowd was distinctly on the younger side. The waiter was a little too forward introducing himself and shaking my hand. It just felt weird.
