   Service was great and staff were very detailed about the meals and just friendly overall. Food was outstanding

   Food was great! i ordered the pasta with the beef ragu which was amazing. We ordered the Spring Vale rose which i had on a previous visit to Pure South and it was just right. A really lovely rose that wasn't really dry. The food is always good and great value for money....this place is my new favourite Southgate restaurant

   It may have been one of the worst meals I have had out in a long time I had the fettuccine carbonara which was so salty it couldn't be eaten. I tried to eat what I could but could even eat half. My friend had the gnocchi it was the complete other end of the scale and was way too sweet. I advised the waitstaff about the fettuccine but was just told they would advise the kitchen. This may have been the worst $150 ever spent

   We had the fish and chips with salad Friday special. Overpriced - the chips were good but salad was more like garnish and the fish was akin to frozen supermarket variety. Very disappointing. My husband’s pizza was ok and the potatoe gnocchi was more like roast potatoes. However, the service was good.

I want to assure you that our fish is flown fresh from East Devonport to Melbourne's Moorabbin Airport, before reaching our kitchen, the same day it is caught from the Bass Strait by Peter, one of our fishermen.    Great food as per usual just some hiccups with the service on this night which is unusual.

   The food and service was the best I’ve had at Southgate. Love to go back to revisit the wine list. Thanks for a great night
