Food and service were outstanding. Main dishes of mushrooms and scallops.
Had a great experience - asked them to have glasses of Prosecco brought to table right as we were seated and they accommodated that request. Food was amazing and drinks were also on point. Had a great time!
Excellent food! The ambiance was inviting and ther service was awesome! I will be back for sure!
The food was amazing! The service was lacking. We had to wait a while to get our drink order taken and then even longer for our first course. It didn’t help that we went to the restaurant hungry. But I expected for a restaurant for this Caliber to have prompt service, we went on a Tuesday. The ambiance was set up very nicely, the moment you walk in to the restaurant you know that they spent their money wisely on the decor. Overall, we went there for our anniversary... I would go back for special occasions or for drinks while in DC. The place is def worth a visit, take it from a Punjabi & Foodie.
Absolutely amazing on every level! Food was incredible, ambiance impeccable and service extraordinary! Can’t wait to go back - especially for the Sea Bass and chicken tika sampler ha!
Had a great dinner to celebrate a birthday. The service was excellent and was was the food.
Our meal was awesome, largely due to the recommendations that our server made.
Beautiful food, beautiful atmosphere, even the staff were gorgeous! A truly special experience.
Everything was excellent!!!
Once I would.do not charge for rice that is unheard of in an Indian restaurant- for an expensive restaurant its too tacky. the goat biryani was good the rest oknot spicy enough fairly bland.
The food is amazing! I just recommend not sitting close to the door if you opt for bar seating (it can get very loud especially from one of the bartenders).
I love this restaurant. It is beautiful, the food is not just delicious but presented so amazingly and the service is terrific.
The food was outstanding. We love Indian food, and this was probably the best Indian food we have ever had in this area. The scallops were superb ! The paneer was also superb. The service was excellent, and the wife of the owner even came over to us to ask how we liked everything. We would definitely go back for a special occasion. The prices were a bit steep for our budget to go on a regular basis. We also appreciated the fact that the Metro Center stop on the metro was a short walk from the restaurant. Since we come in from Maryland to D.C., that is a plus for us.
My only comments are these: there need to be more wines that are not so expensive as the prices are really on the very high end except for one in each category. I had to drink a sweet wine even though I prefer dry because it was the only reasonably priced white wine that was offered. And the other comment is similar: charging $4 extra for a half cup of white rice does not go along with the perception of quality as even cheap Indian restaurants serve white rice with a meal at no extra charge.
I have a lot of experience when it comes to Indian cuisine, and Punjab Grill was the best Indian food so far. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Gorgeous interior. Delicious food. It was a lovely family lunch.
Great food, great ambiance
Absolutely amazing service and delicious food. It was only my second time going but I was just as impressed as the first time. Very few restaurants are comparable, honestly. I don't write reviews (this is my first one ever) but really felt the need to share my experience with others.
Very good food and very conscientious service. But Rasika and Bindaas have better food.
If they are not veg as veg did not have much variety
The perfect place with the perfect ambiance, staff, and people.
A culinary delight! Yet another amazing meal at Punjab Grill! This time the lamb shank and the sea bass. Thank you, Chef J, for coming to the table and accommodating a diet!
Amazing food and service. Will be going many time again!
Wow! What a wonderful experience! Beautiful space, delicious food, excellent service. A very special night out!
Beautiful space. The good was sumptuous. The service and attention were outstanding. My only complaint is that with this type of Investment ( a restaurant built from the ground up) it would seem there would be better nose mufflers. We were in the front part of the restaurant and it was taxing to fight the voices of the party sitting behind our booth. My friends and I had to talk with raised voices throughout the meal, which dampened the experience. I also could have done without the techno music. I understand it’s supposed to make customers eat more. But at times, I felt like I was at a disco. At a minimum, lower the music.
Except for these two distractions, I can’t say enough about Punjab Grill. It was an exquisite experience.
Wonderful dinner. Each dish was incredible. We were celebrating a special occasion and the restaurant made every effort to help us celebrate. Will be back very soon!
Long wait for a drink at the bar while waiting for our table. Acoustics in both the bar and dining room were poor. Food was good but not as exciting as we had hoped from reviews. It did not feel like a fine dining experience.
When you first walk into Punjab Grill, you are greeted with the pleasant aromas of sandalwood and spices and the incredible decor. My mom and I came to treat ourselves and wow did this place deliver. Amazing service.
We ordered three appetizers, each bursting with flavor. The chutney sampler should not be missed. We also had the Gol Gabba and Burrata Jaam.
We shared the chicken tikka sampler and it was amazing. The salted caramel paneer cheesecake was incredible as well. They had accidentally sent us the wrong appetizer and not only did we get to keep it (it was so good), but they surprised us with an extra free dessert at the end. Their take on an ice cream sandwich, buttery moist cookies with mango sorbet in between and an incredible turmeric sauce. 10/10 one of the best dining experiences of my life!
Amazing food - as good as fine Indian dining gets. A great bar and excellent overall ambience. On the pricey side...for a party of six, gratuity of 22% included - I am not sure how they arrived at 22%!!! Also, $50 per person charge if reservation cancelled less than 24 hours = read the fine print.
Outstanding and very unique menu that goes above and beyond traditional Indian fare. If you want to venture out and push the envelope a bit this is worth a try!
This restaurant is fantastic with amazing food. We had a spectacular experience for lunch.
Food was really good. All five of us enjoyed everything. Service is poor to good. Very hard to understand some of the staff. Felt rushed by staff. Waiter was too abrupt.
We had an unbelievable experience. Waiters (plurals) and staff were impeccable and attentive. The sommelier paired a complimentary glass of wine with one of our dishes. We also ordered a bottle of wine with our meal. The food was absolutely delicious. We got seabass and also the scallops with caviar. Will definitely come back when I visit DC again.
delicious food presented artfully. gorgeous restaurant surroundings. meticulously crafted cocktails and a nice wine list by the glass. take people here if you want to give them a wow factor!
Great restaurant. Enjoyed it with out of town friends. One of the best Indian restaurants in DC.
I highly recommend this restaurant. Food and service were great.
An outstanding good and venue experience. We enjoyed every bit of it.
It was very good.
I had the dishes and they were all quite tasty.
Great ambiance and service.
Best Indian cuisine in DC and the service is always impeccable.
