A MELBOURNE INSTITUTION
Established in 1995, Punch Lane is a Melbourne dining icon and a pioneer amongst its laneway counterparts.
Punch Lane is a cosy and inclusive Wine Bar and restaurant, which prides itself on serving delicious food from a seasonal menu, mouth-watering cheeses from an eclectic selection, matched with exceptional wine and service.
Our kitchen team, headed up by Nuno Gabriel, have created a seasonal menu showcasing local produce. We are currently offering a 2 hour dinner sitting for all early reservations prior to 7pm in our dining space with drinks and bar snacks available from 3pm - 5pm Tuesday to Sunday. Dinner service commences at 5pm Tuesday - Sunday. Lunch from 12pm - 3pm, Tuesday - Friday.
Please note Sunday surcharge of 10% and Public holiday surcharge of 15%

It's time to spoil yourselves this Christmas Day with lunch at Punch Lane. We are offering 2 sittings for a 2 hour period - 12pm & 2.30pm to our Christmas Lunch Chef's tasting menu. The bar will will call last drinks at 4.30pm to allow our staff to escape home to their own Christmas celebrations. Menu to follow - please let us know of any dietary requirements you have when booking Please note beverage purchases will incur a 15% public holiday surcharge on the day.

The food is amazing. The ambience is perfect. The staff are lovely and helpful. I absolutely love this place.

Food, drink & service was great. It’s a comfy place to enjoy a meal & a few drinks, although a little on expensive side.

I've been going to Punch Lane for 15 years. I've always had a great meal with great service. The last two times however I have been disappointed. More with the poor response to relatively minor complaints. Things that could easily been resolved were met with defensiveness and some hostility. $100 for a tough steak is worth saying something about. Unfortunately my relationship with Punch Lane has come to an end

The 2 x $100 steaks 400g each from a company we source some of our specialty cuts from “The Range Vintage Beef Company” these Porterhouse Steaks are from a breed in the style of 'Spanish Galicia Cows". • The 2 x steak where 1 x Blue and 1 x Rare • The blue steak was completely eaten , the rare steak was mostly eaten with some fat left behind and a small amount of meat remaining • The shift manager who you dealt with is a very capable, calm and articulate person , he offered a complimentary dessert which was accepted and $80 off your account towards the 1 x steak. I’m not sure what you are referring to re disappointment the last 2 times. I’m sorry to read of your relationship with us come to an end, especially after 15 yrs, which is significant and your point is not missed.

A truly fantastic evening. All staff were so welcoming and had time to chat with us through the evening. Food was really interesting and tasty. We had Crab Cigars followed by a Snapper Special for two with Portuguese influenced sauce. Delicious. Meal was complemented with some interesting wines .. skin contact Marsanne Rousanne, followed by aged Riesling which had lovely petrol notes, and finished with a quality old Rutherglen. As I said "Wonderful"

An excellent meal. The lamb melted in my mouth and the scallops were perfect. Excellent service.

We've been here three times now and it keeps getting better. Wonderful food and spectacular wine with lovely, lovely service. Highly recommend.
