This place is wonderful! It was super fun!! We had went for a work holiday party, the food was delicious and the games were a lot of fun. All of the staff were attentive and kind. We will definitely be going back.
Love this concept! We went for our work holiday outing and had a great time!
Family in town for Thanksgiving. Service was great and enjoyed the eclectic fun the space had to offer.
Cool idea for a unique experience. Wait service was very poor, menu items weren’t available and it was only 12:00. Would benefit from some overall improvements to make it worth people’s money.
A fun place to eat and play. So many options on things to do you won't be bored.
On Nov 13, 2019, a group of 7 friends and I attended dinner for my partner’s birthday. I had also brought in a cake from Gourmandise bakery. We enjoyed our drinks, food, and the entertainment available; as well as thought that Punch Bowl Social was a great addition to Gateway and Salt Lake City. As we finished our meal, I had informed our server that we were ready for the cake. The server then took our cake from the table, and proceeded to the kitchen. We weren’t sure how the server was going to deliver the cake, so we sat at the table confused. After some time, the server, and other servers, returned to our table with 8 small plates of cake; we sang happy birthday over a slice of cake with a candle, rather than the whole cake! We enjoyed the cake, and I had asked for the remaining cake to please be returned to the table, with several to-go boxes to share with our guests; this large sheet cake was intended to serve 22 people, and given the quality expected from Gourmandise, the $60 cake did not disappoint. However, the service which pursued did. We waited at the table for the server to return with the cake, and two separate times she visited the table asking “have they not returned with your cake? Let me go check on it.” Eventually servers, returned with 7 small to-go boxes of cake. Shocked, I asked, where is the rest of the cake?! Where is the cake box?! The cake comes with a personalized greeting written on a bar of chocolate with frosting. Where was this bar?! Upset, I asked if I could speak to the manager. I was introduced to Steven Brown, General Manager of the SLC location, and I explained to him the details mentioned above. Steven apologized and said he would follow up. Steven eventually sent me a picture of the cake box, with lines drawn by a finger showing that 12 pieces of cake were served. After I called him out on the embarrassing response for a manager, he offered to return the amount charged for our dinner. I have yet to be refunded!
Great for a double or group date! The appetizers were absolutely amazing and the entrees were pretty good on average! A little pricy, but that’s to be expected at a place where you may stay a few hours longer than your meal while still taking up table space and server’s time.
Good food and fun scene. Server was quick and responsive, offered good options. I had the mac n cheese with green chorizo and it was awesomely rich and creamy. Wife had tacos, good but smaller portion for price. Kinda pricey for what you get so value not great but overall a cool spot for any occasion. All food and drink was great.
It was a cool environment and fun to do something different not just wat and leave
This is such a fun new place! I don't have a single complaint except that our food arrived before we could really get into our game of Battleship! I am excited to go back and check out the mini bowling and private karaoke.
The menu is diverse and delicious. We had the crab rangoon dip, rosemary fries, poblano mac and cheese and the chicken and waffles. Everything was perfect!
Great atmosphere and the food was over the top delicious!!
So much fun. Played games at our reserved table most of the night and the people were incredibly nice. There was a private event going on so bowling and karaoke were blocked off. Will have to go back to try those out. They looked like a lot of fun.
New, clean.... pretty dead in gateway these days.... but this place could spur some fun night life back... we ate before a concert at The Depot ... which was a 2 minute walk.... very casual... perfect! Bummer they DONT validate for parking in underground parking at gateway... that’s not good! Cost is about $7 to park.... nobody parks there any more as most of gateway is a ghost town....
Wings, chili, tacos... and crab dip, chicken salad... all tasty and decent value.... pretty good beer selection... $10-12 special cocktails.... beers 4-7
The unique games options seems great idea for small groups of adults! Not a place for kids.... must be 21 to enter ... they don’t have but a few sports TVs btw.... which is cool...
Prices are a bit high but the food quality seemed great. Would like to see some vegan options on the menu.
Service was kind of slow and the waitress didn’t know the menu (there are indeed beans in the chili and there is a difference between a Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi)
Also, when opening a new location in a new city/state, it might be a good idea for the waitress not to dis the city and state your customers love. Just sayin’
First off Sophie was awesome! The food was delicious. Love the atmosphere and layout. We'll be back!
Food was great, beer was super pricey even for a bar and sizes were so limited.
Food was wonderful! Service was good in the dining area.
However an issue I had was that they close certain games before the bar or establishment is said to close. I have issue with a business not operating because they want to start closing before the listed time.
We made it down to Gateway to check out the new bowling/bar/game-ish place. It was pretty busy with lots of hipsters and LOTS of people working there. Honestly I think the ratio was about one worker for every 3 people. But whatever. Service was very good, and attentive. Complaint number one was that there was a Utah football game and they didn't have the channel for it so it was not on. Seriously?
Since our main purpose was to try the food I have to say it was ok but not great. Lots of people have said positive things, but the only thing I can figure is maybe they're comparing it to other bars. My main complaint is that the food was never hot. Our nachos seemed like they must have been sitting under a heat lamp for a half hour. My tacos were also just luke-warm. My wife's burger was better.
I get that this is mostly supposed to be a bar, but SLC has some bars with GREAT food (like Whisky Street or White Horse) so if these guys want to play with the big boys they need to step up their game.
The food was delicious, innovative, and filling. We enjoyed the green chorizo fries, brisket chili and coffee & doughnuts. The servers were all very nice. We went right after the free Kanye concert at the Gateway, so it was packed full, and I think they were a bit overwhelmed. They use a server team approach, so numerous people asked us how we were doing and kept checking on us. But then they’d get busy and it would take forever to get things. I think if we were there on a regular day, the service would have been better. But in the end, the food was great and the atmosphere was fun, so we’ll be back.
The servers were great! The bar tending left a lot to be desired. The food was mostly good, but for the cost it wasn’t a good value. The food and drinks were much too expensive for what they were. And for as much as it all costs, they could at least validate parking.
This place is so cute! The cutest atmosphere and fun vibes. The food and drinks were great. Their queso were AMAZING. Best queso I have ever dad. Rumor has it that all their food is made from scratch and you can tell. Service was really slow, but I think that is because they are understaffed currently. I won’t hold that against them. I’ll definitely be back!
Fantastic service, great food/drinks, and super cool vibe. Worth a visit!
With PBS being a new concept to SLC, our party wasn’t quite sure how everything worked. When we sat down at our table the waiter began taking food and drink orders right away without telling us about how game play works. We had extraordinary service up until we got our food then it seemed like the waiter just disappeared. We loved our drinks and wanted to order more but there was no one in sight to take our order. While I was conversing with other people in our party I noticed a manager who came by our table quieting asking one of the people in our party how everything was. I would have much rather preferred the manager be a little louder and address the whole table rather than a single individual. When we were finally done eating I had to chase down another server to ask them how to play some of the games. They told me I had to go to the game booth — so I did. The people at the game booth said that the popular games were an hour and a half wait. Had it been explained to us earlier, we probably would have signed up for games upon our arrival. We ended up leaving and spending our money elsewhere.
