Mediocre service and high prices take away from the tasty food. Seems very understaffed for a space this large. Entrees were all about $5 more then they should be-$15 for three tiny tacos. And drink prices were outrageous- add a shot of tequila to a grapefruit soda and you’ll be charged $15. Bowling is $10/person for an hour. Come here if you feel like wasting money on what is little more than an Applebee’s.
Pre concert dinner. Appetizers took 30 min
Cool place. Definitely need to make time for the games. Great for drinks. Food decent enough.
We had a great time at Punch Bowl Social last Friday night. Our server, Kiante, was awesome and did an excellent job checking on us to be sure we had everything we needed. Drinks were good, food was tasty. We will definitely go again.
It is amazing that a place this new next to an ideal location, Fivserv forum, that the place is this bad already. Making reservations for a Sunday at noon was almost impossible even though the place was at 39% capacity. Our food waiter was good, young, and tried very hard. That is the highlight. Getting a channel changed to brewers game was unsuccessful. The staff in the gaming area were pathetic. It’s too bad. It could be a great place.
Went to watch the bucks playoff game and our table of 8 had a view of one small tv and they could not figure out how to get the sound to play. Got to hear an episode of triple d while the game was on. Highly disappointing.
Went to Punch Bowl before a concert at Fiserv. They have now been open for almost two months. Made a reservation (highly recommend if going to an event) and was sat immediately. After being sat our server came quickly with menus and water. However, we then waited 15 minutes for him to say he’d be right with us again. He finally came over and we ordered drinks and food immediately since we had somewhere to be. Drinks came in a reasonable time, but it took about 40 min for our food to come (which was only a burger and some tacos with no special requests). By the time our food came, the place was nearing empty bc the event had started (re: opening act). So most people had eaten well before us. And there were a ton of employees standing around. Food wise, it was okay. I liked the pickled cabbage on the burger and the sauce (but they could go a lil easy on it). Overall I wasn’t going in expecting much, and it met that expectation. It has rockstar location for an event, let’s hope they can get to a rockstar service level.
I look forward to coming back when they have improved their staffing and service model. At the suggestion of a friend, we ordered immediately when we sat down and our food (pretty simple orders) took 45 mins. Drinks were very slow to arrive as well. We heard other guests say that the food they ordered never arrived, or that a server never came to their table to even take an order. Punch Bowl- you have a lot of competition open now in the Deer District. You really need to figure this out...
Food is delicious, but it took 25 minutes to get our drinks and over an hour to get our food. Wait staff hustled, but the bar and kitchen were completely backed up. Plan for a very leisurely dinner. There was a "mix up" with our reservation through Open Table, and was told either we were double-booked and/or the previous reservation was still sitting at our table. The host staff seemed to have no clue what was going on. They also did not check us in through Open Table, prompting an email asking if we truly no-showed.
We have dined at Punchbowl in Minneapolis and had a fantastic time. The food is great, the atmosphere fun and the drinks are unique and tasty. Milwaukee was the opposite. We had reservations and were seated immediately. It was not too crowded for a Friday night. There were still empty tables. Our server checked in but then didn’t come back for a drink order for 10 minutes. He apologized and said they had just called him in. Ok, short staffed maybe? 10 minute after that he came for our food order. Our drinks came a few minutes after that. My husband ordered a whiskey double. I tasted it and it had absolutely no flavor. He sent it back and our waiter said they were not able to make a double so that was a single. When our drinks were brought to the table, it should have been stated that this was not the drink he ordered. Our reservations were at 5:30, our food arrived at 6:30 and when our daughter’s dish was placed in front of her, the waiter’s drawstring from his hoody dragged through the top of her dish. He noticed and apologized and said he would have it remade. He brought it back within minutes and we saw all that had been done was that the top was broiled to cook it longer- it was the baked Mac n cheese. If we had more time, we would have sent it back but we were going to a concert and couldn’t. When we got the bill, we had been charged for the drink we sent back and anther drink as well. Just overall the service was extremely poor. The food was good but I am very hesitant to come back when there are so many other places to support.
It took us almost an hour to get our food. Our waitress never checked on us, we had to flag her down. Even though we had a reservation they were not able to handle all the reservations they took. We even had to cancel our second round of drinks because it seemed like they were never coming and we needed to leave for a concert. Food was great but don’t go there if you need to be somewhere.
Overall concept is fun and was excited to check it out, but the food was overpriced and not that great. We initially received the wrong burger we ordered for my son and then was charged twice for it. I ordered the world’s smallest chorizo tacos. I don’t like cilantro so asked that it be left off. Apparently I misunderstood that by asking for no cilantro also meant no chorizo. My tacos were basically slaw, salsa and sour cream with the blandest black beans on the side. Service was slow and I found it weird that you have to give payment BEFORE you order. The place is large but there is only 1 individual bathroom per gender (and one family stall). Must be a total nightmare when it’s busy with only 3 toilets. Was excited to check it out, but won’t go back. Was very unimpressed.
Lots of fun, and a great, creative menu. We loved the punch bowl, and the siracha fries were awesome.
This may be a great place when things are happening at the Fiserv, but for a date downtown not so much. We had two girls check us in and waited ten minutes for one of the two waitresses to say hello. The place was empty. The girls at check-in had people randomly coming in to visit loudly. This is a new location and seems to need new management already.
It was our first time there and we had a phenomenal waiter and trainee that took there time with us regardless of how busy the place got. But, they helped us out and gave us recommendations. Customer service was great.
That punch bowl drink we paid 40 bucks for was not worth it and had more ICE then liquor.
The restaurant is not set up to handle the large crowd that was there that night. There was a concert plus the Bucks playoff game was being broadcasted outside. They sat us on the first floor. The flow of people made serving us challenging. They should have kept the first floor for walk-ins or bar service only.
The first round of drinks took over 10 minutes to get. Our waitress was nice and apologetic. But again they weren’t prepared for the crowd.
The first floor bathrooms are single stall only. Ridiculous for the size of space. We had never been there before so we didn’t know that upstairs was huge. The bathrooms upstairs are multi-stall.
The food was okay. One ordered the chicken and waffles and that was large and he liked it. I got the Mac and cheese with pork belly, which was very good Others ordered sandwiches and they were just okay. One was difficult to eat with crispy on the outside and then gooey inside.
The food is amazing! We had a reservation and sat at our table for 15 mins and saw no server. When she did finally come we were ready to order everything, she came back to deliver our drinks and we didn’t see her until we flagged someone down to get
Very trendy place. Appreciated the ambiance and overall feel. Drinks are overpriced. Food was ok.
I have been to Punch Bowl twice now, once with kids and once without. Both times were not great experiences. Bowling does not work well, set up of the place is really odd, food is overpriced for quality. Would not go back. I told the manager about our experience and nothing was really done. They have some nice people working there but lots of problems!!
Came here on a double date with friends and had a blast! We had burgers, fish tacos and amazing crafted drinks. The game area was great as we were able to play a variety of games (bowling, foosball, human sized jenga, cards against humanity and some arcade games). Overall, great experience and we will definitely be coming back!
Terrible service. Table not acknowledged for long period of time, drink order finally taken then waited another extended period of time before asking a manager. Food brought to our table incorrectly twice. Never asked if we needed anything else (would have liked another round), appetizer brought out as we had just finished meal. Error on bill. Tried to resolve with upper management vs doing a public review to try to give them a chance to explain if there were any issues that night (maybe short staffed, new staff etc) that we could understand as things happen but got stood up on a planned call twice. Would never recommend this place, super disappointed.
Spent two hours waiting for food, never got apps even and left
Nothing short of 5 stars! Such a fun atmosphere and amazing food and drinks! Perfect for date nights or with a group of friends.
Food was good, service was terrible. Will likely improve after being open for longer, though.
The food was good and the drinks were okay. I got the strawberry daiquiri that only tasted like lime and rum. My friend got the old fashioned and it was not an old fashioned.
Our waitress stopped at our table 3x so we ended up being there for an hour and a half because when we ordered something it would take forever to come out. The working staff would sit at a table on the floor and eat then go work. I don’t want to watch on the clock employees eating. We had to stop our waitress to get more water when we finally saw her after 45 minutes.
Overall we really enjoyed Punch bowl... we went before a concert so expected service to be slower... which was fine... however, we made a reservation and were seated at the table directly next to the door... which caused us to be bumped into every time someone walked by... we felt, as we had made a reservation we should not have gotten THE WORST table in the entire place!
we waited over an hour after we ordered to get our food. our waitress never checked in for more drinks...lost opportunity. hoping for a better experience.
great food, great drinks and great ambience.
Service was extremely poor but manager felt bad and discounted our bill.
Being across from the stadium you’d think they’d be prepared for large crowds.
Celebrated a birthday brunch with my family. The kitchen still needs to work out their timing kinks - items came out very staggered. 35 minute difference between the first entree to the last. However, I server handled it like a champ and removed 3 entrees from the bill. I will be back.
We just went to a Punch Bowl Social in Indy and loved it, so we were excited when one came to MKE. This one is much louder than the one in Indy and not laid out as well. Our server couldn’t seem to get a Tito’s and Sprite order right and wasn’t very attentive or quick. We were carded 4 separate times throughout the night, two of which we were just playing the arcade games during and not drinking or trying to order a drink. A little over the top. But the food was great and the games were fun. Would go back again.
We tried this for the first time prior to Friday’s Eric Church concert, and were disappointed by the slow service. I believe it was a training issue with the new opening. Food we had was good, although we were barely able to get across to Fiserv Forum in time for the concert.
We went before the Bucks game so it was super busy. Staff did their best to keep up. I feel because they haven’t been open that long they need more experience to get the flow down. Missed my daughters drink, we had to wave someone down, she ended up with two by mistake. We were also billed for a drink we ordered that they didn’t have in stock. Took awhile to get our bill. Staff was very nice and acknowledged they are having some growing pains. With time I feel it will improve.
Very disappointed in the service. Very long wait to get a server and even longer wait to get a drink after placing an order. Everyone seemed very confused and not ready for a crowded dinner before the bucks game. Hopefully time will help as I will get it another shot.
Went previous Sunday with my wife and it was amazing. Yesterday our server disappeared for at least a 1/2 hour and when he was with us he was overwhelmed. We flagged down Meredith and she took over after our first round of drinks. She was wonderful and recovered the table nicely. Lots of staff that seem lost and confused wandering around at all times without much getting done. So in conclusion one visit was amazing and one was annoying. I understand that PBS is new but start weeding out the leakers so the service is consistent.
Food took forever. I i understand it was prior to a bucks game and it was busy, however, with the extremely limited menu, it should not have taken as long as it did. The server told us that it would be 5 more minutes for our food, turned out to be 25. When food arrived, mine was wrong " asked for grilled chicken instead of fried, got fried ". Instead of waiting another hour, I kept it. Fries were also cold. The food tasted good, but 14 bucks for cold fries and a chicken sandwich is too much. If this place wants to make more money, try to Turn over tables in less than the 80 minutes we were there....we did not have appetizers either. There are too many nearby options that I am accustomed to being a season ticket holder that I don't see this place becoming one of my regulars prior to a game. I'll try it again in the future to see if they change things up.
Had a surprise birthday party for my girlfriend and the Punch Bowl Social staff was amazing at making it special for my girlfriend, particularly the two women at the main entrance information desk. Both of them were able to store my birthday cake and move reservations around to create room for a party of 12. The location of the table, the attentiveness of the staff and the ability for them to make things happen for me was great. The only issue I experienced when making initial arrangements was getting a hold of Alexa the party planner, it was days before she contacted me back to hear all possible solutions with regards to party planning. Besides that, everything else went fairly smooth.
Service started great. We got seated right away.
From there, it went downhill. We ordered a punch bowl. It took forever to come. The waiter checked & blamed the bar. We got our meal before our appetizer, disappointing. The waiter blamed the kitchen. There wasn’t any events at the Fiserv so there’s no excuse for all of this. It was our first time there & probably won’t be back.
Excellent food but very slow service
