The food was terrible. Everything looked good on the menu but had absolutely no taste to it.
Friends having a Sunday morning brunch. We had a wonderful time. Our service was good and the cost was very reasonable.
The restaurant kindly called a day ahead to confirm our reservation for 8 and accommodated our large party, even though we were a few minutes late.
The atmosphere was buzzing with laughter and conversation from the many parties and groups. It has a very large space with lots of games for people to walk around and play. We were there on a weekend, so the bowling was a 2 hour wait, which was fine since we were eating beforehand. But by the time bowling was realistically available, we were back at our hotel.
Food was to be expected. Fried chicken and wings were most memorable. The margarita-like drink was our favorite. Since I like spicy drinks, the server recommended a cayenne salt rim, which gave the right touch. Our server was very knowledgeable and accommodating. He made himself accessible without being obtrusive.
A fun place with a great vibe. We look forward to going back.
The service was outstanding! The ladies offered to take photos of us and my girls friends had a great time for brunch :)
I booked a table for 10 a month b/4 going. I was called the day b/4 to confirm , figured all was good. When we arrived we were told there was a buy out of the facility for the night so there were no activities available but board games. After talking to a Manager she got us 1hr of bowling, but that was rushed b/c it was only available from 4-5pm and it was after 4pm when something was available, so that was rushed , and then the server was not around to make sure our drink or food orders were being met while bowling , we had to keep going to the bar or looking for her through other servers. The staff at the bowling "cage" for shoes and pay for the game were rude. I was trying to pay for the team and they seems disinterested to help us , and just talk to each other or any questions I asked they were short or said they could not help. The manager did give us a complimentary punch bowl for the miss communication about the availability of the games etc , but overall I would not go back or have a team outing there. Seemed people that work there are not there to help and they are willing to take a last min "buy out" and inconvenience people that had made reservations months a head with no communication of that. I would assume most go there for the activities , esp if its a big party , so to show up and be told sorry you can only eat , makes it just a restaurant which there are a million in the west loop. I think they need to get friendlier employees, and manage reservations better . I would say don't waste your time , it's all hype and overpriced.
We reserved a table on a Thursday at 5:15pm celebrate my daughters 11th birthday. We arrived to find every single gaming station closed off for private parties. Needless to say this ruined her birthday as the whole point of coming was so that she could play some of the games. A heads up when I made the reservation would have avoided a lot of turmoil and tears. If Punchbowl is going to rent out every game they have I don't see the point of taking standard reservation. Its misleading at best and unnecessarily frustrating.
We had a girls nite and had an early dinner. Will definitely come back!
Chiken was raw...they did change it, however overall three of the people in our five person party did not like the food ( undercooked chicken, overcooked fries, nacho cheese not proportional to chips...)
I had a terrible experience. Everything fun was unavailable or not working. There weren’t any punch bowl drinks and the food tasted off. I did not have a fun time nor did any of my friends. A huge disappointment. The place was spacious and looked nice but it definitely was not what I was expecting.
We went with our friends and 6 kids the kids menu was terrible, spaghetti on the kids menu was spicy (what kids like spicy food?) yogurt was plain yogurt and tasted horrible, kids like sweet yogurt, wine list was terrible, no one wants Rosé in a can, Moscow mules didn’t come in copper mugs, kids wanted chocolate shakes and the ice cream machine was “broken,” skee ball didnt work, pinball didn’t work, it was a terrible experience and we would never go back in a million years!!!
Amazing decor and freshly prepared American food. Great chicken and waffles!
This was my first time going and I had an amazing time. I went for a girls'night event I hosted and my friends had a good time!
I got violently sick from this food and will not be returning.
Super fun place! Good for family and friends.
There was some miscommunication with reservations and which activities/rooms were booked, so unfortunately there were no activities that were available for my company party during our reservation. Other than that, we were able to find a good spot to hang out and chat and enjoy ourselves. The starters and punch bowls were a hit. The service at the back bar was great.
The aesthetic of this space is absolutely adorable! It's a totally unique venue full of instagrammable opportunities! The brunch menu is fantastic, and they also offer a full bloody mary bar. It was quiet and easy to get right in with a party of 10. Highly recommend this spot!!
Service was not what we would have hoped. Space is so fun.
The food was good, the service was very bad, they where short staff we had to call the server over to get service.
Slow service. Food was just okay
The food menu is basically bar food. Not a very good date place. More suited for groups and parties. The overall vibe is not welcoming so if you've never been...expect to have to figure things out for yourself. There are only a few actual games besides the board games.
The place is okay but nothing like what the website describes.....sorry
The place looked so nice and loved the ambiance. Our food was pretty mediocre. We forgot to say how we like our burgers cooked and realized we were never asked, so all burgers were automatically well done, but the food itself was cold. There were 5 of us and no one’s cooked food was warm. However, the nachos were amazing. The game area was fun and it’s a good place for groups. We like that there is a lot to do. I didn’t like the laundry theme downstairs, I felt like I was in a laundromat. I’m not sure what that was all about! But overall the place was good.
Great space - inviting and almost whimsical. Very fine menu; food is exceptionally good. Our server however, was expressionless. Rather off putting but did not spoil the meal. Would come back yes.
Had a difficult time working with the event manager for arranging a room reservation with flexibility on drink/food packages and minimum spending. Were also told that we shouldn't have a problem being able to get on the list for most of the games without the space. Because of these factors I did not reserve a space and was told we should be able to get tables reserved on OpenTable arranged near each other in the dining area. Despite arriving early, we were only able to get two of the three tables together, and never got our third table that we reserved. We also had slow service with one server who only took two orders at a time for a 14 seat table. I had a chicken sandwich that arrived very late and without any ketchup for my fries. Also we were unable to get on the list for the karaoke and the place was completely slammed and only got to play the ring toss for the three hours we were there.
Still had a good time but just be warned that this place is crazy busy and to reserve the space if you can get a group of more than 20 (we ended up having at least that but based on some feedback was concerned about the enforced minimum and lack of flexibility with some guests being able to opt in/out of packages). Have no idea how early one should sign up for games but were certainly misled to how easy it would be (were told only bowling is hard to get reservations). And as you might expect, this is West Loop so expect pricing to be on the high side. It's a very trendy spot though so you will enjoy it if you are looking to see and be seen.
We were quite disappointed to find out upon arrival that many of the activities were closed due to a private party. This should’ve been communicated when we made the reservation or when they confirmed the day prior.
We had a lot of fun! We bowled and ate. We are planning on coming back!
Very fun setting with something’s nag for everyone to do.
The staff provided excellent service and we're very attentive to our needs and went out of their way by showing extra effort to make us feel welcome.
I attended this reservation but didn’t receive points
Overall it was good, however we were lied to about the booths being reserved. When I checked in, i requested a booth, since I have a 3 year old (for safety reason I didn’t want to sit at a high top with him). However I was told that they were all reserved for ppl coming in soon, in 30mins. We were there an hour and a half and only one out of the 8+ had new ppl at the booth. Not sure, why they didn’t want us to sit at a booth? That’s really my only complaint. Food and server was great.
We had an infant and also someone that was hard of hearing. Based on our request, they called an hour before we were to arrive to talk through options. They were very accommodating. When we arrived, they seated us in a booth to help with hearing and had a high chair already set up.
Service was just not great, late with everything an super forgetful about our table. An we kept asking to talk to a manger but one never came , but came to other tables as we watched an wondered if it was cause our table was all black?? Just not a great fun place like we thought!
Our waitress was MIA and brought us a completely inaccurate bill at the end of the night resulting in a 30 minute debate with the manager. Chose this place for a birthday celebration of all the spots in the city. Was very disappointed in the way the situation was handled. They did end up covering the tab but I would have rather just paid than deal with the uncomfortable situation.
Absolutely great!! The server even double checked on the food for my allergies and made sure I had a safe and enjoyable dining experience!!!
We enjoyed brunch! Looking forward to coming back!
I’ve been here three times for a drink and enjoyed my time. This visit was early, a 7:00pm reservation. I was aware they may have been shortly staffed, but we had to wait ten minutes for a table, we had to flag down a server, our first drink didn’t come to the table until 7:45, 45 minuets after we sat there and our food came a few minutes before. Again I believe the restaurant had some issues that night but they were very visible and I felt embarrassed that I chose to bring out of townera here for dinner. I never complain on sites, but this was not great. I will return for a drink in the future and Sunday brunch, but that’s all.
We booked this for a Birthday dinner but they didn’t let us put our name in for any games or bowling before our reservation and after dinner the wait was 2-hours +. Poor customer service - 5 people received their food and 3 others had to wait 20minutes.
Punch Bowl Social is always a fun spot, good drinks, good food, and fun games!
Our server was slow. I actually checked the time that I was seated and the time that I was approached by a server: 12 minutes. Our server was kind of inattentive and we never got our waters refilled. Food came quickly. The server seemed decently annoyed by us but was okay.
I had a reservation for 10 and so did my other friend. It was nice we were all put in the same area, but they only had one server and he seemed very out of it, overwhelmed and he didn’t have a system.
It took over an hour for some to get their food while others got there’s 15 minutes after ordering it. In fact, some got food before others placed their order.
This was really not good for the majority of our group had just ran the Hot Chocolate 5 or 15K. We went from hungry to HANGRY really quick!!!
Service was slow and food took an hour to come out. We had a group of 20 and only one server was supplied, it took him about 30 minutes to take our orders and almost an hour for the food to come out. We had a reservation so I’m unsure why the restaurant was seemingly not prepared to accommodate us. Totally unacceptable!
