As always, Pumpkin never fails to provide a flavorful meal and great service in a cozy setting. Suspect Ian, the owner/chef was not present that PM as the dishes were both heavily sauced and rich with butter, almost detracting from the dish's key ingredients. Regardless, I would not hesitate to return or recommend as I've done for the last 11 years.

Small but welcoming space, outstanding food that exceeds the expectations created by the simple descriptions on the menu. Service was wonderful. EVERYTHING was wonderful!!! We'd love to go again.

The food was like art. Almost too pretty to eat but I am glad we did. it was delicious. The staff was very helpful as all the dishes sounded amazing. The menu is locally sourced ingredients which was great but it was slightly limited the choices. We had the escargot which was fantastic and the mussels were great as well. Steak and corvina for the main courses were outstanding as well. Highly recommend. Cash only and BYO.

We came here for our 2nd anniversary based on the high ratings. We did not know how small the place was until we arrived. Our table was literally 6 inches from the table next to us. We were seated immediately and given menus, but our server did not come back to take our order for about 10 -15 min. We ordered a few appetizers and waited about 10 min in between our first and second appetizer. Although the service did not meet our expectations, the food was very good. We ordered the steak and striped bass as our entrees and both were delicious! Personally, I would not come back because I really do not like waiting so long in between each dish (I felt full by the time we got to the entrees and took 2 bites before packing it to take home.) However, it is still a good place to go to if you are looking for great food and don't mind waiting for it.

All of the meals were great but I have to say the desserts were my favorite part of the meal. the service was great, meals came out in a timely fashion. I would highly recommend going here and try the sticky toffee pudding!

We really enjoyed our experience at Pumpkin. All the food was very good, beautifully presented, fresh, seasonal, perfectly prepared. The most humble dish, a grilled carrot with tabouli was OFF the charts delicious. We would def. dine here again and thought it was a decent value especially as its BYOB

Our dinner at Pumpkin was lovely. The selection was just right, food delicious, and service was great. I had the octopus, black bass, and panna cotta. My favorite were the mussels though. An experience I will remember!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was very good. Chef accommodated my request to leave beans out of my entree since I cannot eat them. Overall a very nice experience on our trip to Philly.

My husband and I had a rare kid free evening last Saturday, so after thinking about a few places to dine we decided to try pumpkin. It was wonderful. The food was fresh, creative, and delicious. It is my new favorite restaurant in the city.

Went for the prix fixe Sunday five course meal which for $45 might be one of the best values in the Philly Center City area. Every dish was executed well and while the explanations for every dish could have been better done the meals themselves were great and would do this dinner every Sunday if I could.

They do a great pre-fix on Sunday night, like $40 for 4 courses. I've liked Pumpkin a lot on prior visits but I think we caught them on an off night.

This is my second time to this restaurant and it does not fail to produce an exquisite dining experience. Reservations are a must as there are about 10 tables it is also a cash restaurant, which I always forget, the host graciously held our table and directed me to an ATM. The service is extremely attentive but not overbearing, he noticed that my daughter and I were dressed up and asked if we were going to the theater and said that he would make sure that our food would arrive in plenty of time. The menu is uncomplicated but seasonal and the food although diverse has lovely blends of flavors without feeling confusing.
It will be a memorable meal.

OMG. They may be BYO but with great glassware. I enjoyed the Sunday tasting menu and I was dining solo so the chef and team showered me with all the items (9 instead of 5 courses). It was a divine evening.

The food was really good! We have been several times and always enjoy it. The staff is great and the ambiance is nice. The only negative that night was another diner who had an earsplitting laugh and because it's a small place, there's no where for the sound to go. Not the restaurant's fault. There's nothing that could have been done but I honestly wanted earplugs.

Pumkin is one of the best and most pivotal restaurants in the city. It created the West of Broad/Graduate Hospital scene. This is your opportunity to experience a true innovator and Philadelphia great. I recommend that you do while you still have the chance. PS The best soup stateside (period).

We went there for our 6 year anniversary. We knew the restaurant was a small place based on reviews. Yes, it is small but romantic, tables were well set and the service was excellent. It is a BYOB and we enjoyed our Cypriot red wine with the meal. The appetizer was small but tasty (chalvox....not sure about the spelling). I had the grilled salmon and my husband had the bass. Both were really good and tasty but nothing out of the ordinary. The night and our date was lots of fun and full of laughter with good wine...definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful dinner here to celebrate our 10th anniversary. The staff was attentive (we had to make a show) and when we were short for time and declined dessert, they surprised us with a delicious cremsicle pudding and we were on our way. I would definitely recommend this very cozy restaurant for a first date or for any anniversary, or just because.

Loved the food, service and ambience at Pumpkin. It is a totally cozy restaurant. My husband and I were in Philly for the Flower Show. We love the City and found Pumpkin to be a very special place. Because we went on a Sunday, we had the tasting menu, a lovely experience.

Each and every food item was unique in its pairing, or mixture, of flavors, each complementing the others, never overwhelming. If Social/Political systems could follow Pumpkin's example, the world would become much tastier and more digestible.

Completely overrated. Couldn't find anything on the main menu. My fiancée had the salmon. Quite average. I tasted hers. Brussels sprouts were good though as an appetizer. Prices are too high for this tiny place with virtually no ambience. I am a neighbor and I am not coming back.
