The food is ALWAYS outstanding as is the service, cannot wait to go back!
Excellent good. Attentive service. Will be back
This gem of a restaurant provides fresh and varied options. Truly farm to table, the head chef, Ian, takes great prode in scoping out locally farmed seasonal produce. The cultural fusion of flavors is creative and unexpected with a delight in varied textures as well. Vegetarian options were available with the Sunday night prefix. For the quality it is a great value. Excellent and personalized service. Highly recommend!
Theater. Very close to 1812 /plays and players theater
VERY DISAPPOINTING, Food was just ok. Dishes were small and little cold. Service barely average. Prices very high.
They even charged us $6.00 for 4 pieces of Bread. My date had been several times. This was my first time...........we will not be returning. Hope they figure it out.
Food was excellent, they only drawbacks were food temperature of the 3rd service being too low, not even warm, for both plates.
Quail was not enough cooked as a 2nd service.
Otherwise, all plates were delicious, service was very attentive.
Value is great, the tasting menu being very attractive.
Even though music was not loud, the noise level was fairly high because of the level of conversations and tables being close to each other.
Very nice , cozy place. Food excellent! Like the byob.
Wonderful dining experience- food was great, service knowledgeable and friendly and the room is quite nice. BYOB as well which is a plus. Will definitely return here.
It was a birthday dinner for four.
The food was good but nothing incredible as expected. The atmosphere was ok, the music was 70’s. We all had different dishes, the appetizers were great but again, the food was not that inspiring and expensive. Even though they knew it was a birthday dinner, there was no candle , we didn’t fuss. Overall the experience was casual and just ok.
Cute, small spot on South Street. Took my foodie best friend here for her birthday and the food was delicious. I even ate the beets (and I hate beets so that should tell you how good the food was). Its byob. They have a special sunday pre fix menu, which I highly recommend.
Delicious and fresh food. Vibrant colors and flavors. Love it.
I had heard great things about Pumpkin, but left disappointed. The food was very basic and uninteresting, and we ordered almost everything on the menu! Although we left full, I was sad to pay almost 85 dollars a person for very unoriginal food. The service was rude and unhelpful - when we asked how many dishes we should order, our server looked very annoyed and said "you can make whatever work". The ambiance was lovely and the BYOB service was great, but I will not be going back. Too expensive for flavors I've had a million times over.
Beautiful offering for restaurant week. Delicious. You can’t go wrong.
Over great dining experience during Restaurant week!
This is my favorite restaurant in Philly. The wait staff is amazing. The place is cozy. The food is delicious. I had raw scallops as a first course, which were refreshing. I had chicken as the main course, which was perfectly cooked- moist, with crispy skin. Dessert was a creamy custard. An amazing time as always!
The crab was good, but the hostess crabby. Came here for restaurant week, but the space was small. The food was great but I'm not sure if the whole meal was worth $35.
A great place that I hadn't visited in several years. I am looking forward to making a return trip for their Sunday tasting menu soon!
We had a superb dinner. I always wish that Restaurant week menus did 3 savory courses w/o dessert, but... A terrific date!
Barely any food
Service was poor
Very cute, perfect date night restaurant. The food was amazing!
We had the abbreviated Restaurant Week menu and now we are planning to return again soon. Waitstaff is perfectly professional, food was delicious. Of course its a bit small so you’ll be seated very near another party. Lovely evening all together.
The potatoes were incredible and the entrees were both excellent. Wasn't blown away by the desserts offered. Good first experience.
Food was Incredible. I can not wait to come back.....................................................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whether it's during Restaurant Week or on a regular day, Pumpkin BYOB represents the pinnacle of dining options that Philly has to offer. You can taste the care that Chef Ian Moroney and his team puts into Pumpkin's expertly crafted food - their passion for what they do is evident. This is only elevated by the restaurant's intimate dining space and their world class servers. Imagine you're eating the best meal you've ever had, but you're in the comfort of your own home... that's Pumpkin BYOB! If I'm recommending any Philly restaurant for a special occasion, it's usually Pumpkin.
We went on restaurant week, not realizing that would be their menu so the portion sizes may have been smaller due to the lower menu price. Everything was delicious. They change items often so not worth going through everything, but jesus mary and joseph that darn chocolate cake was delicious!!!!!!! Will def be back!
Menu has limited choices but every dish was imaginative and delicious. Four of us tried Pumpkin during restaurant week on a Sunday. We look forward to dining there again on a Sunday when they offer (only) a 5-course menu for $50.00
Very cool place food was outstanding- we went for the Sunday prix fix. To bad it was restaurant week as we only had 3 dishes- great value at $35. Regular is 5 for $50. Will go back. Also it is BYOB so bring something special you won’t be disappointed.
Another lovely evening at Pumpkin. The service was excellent and everything we ordered was delicious. Thanks, Pumpkin!
Really nice small unique restaurant. Excellent for a date or a special ocassion with that someone special. Menu is unique since it changes daily. Food was really good. Recommended
Very cosy, nice ambiance. Service was good. However, majority of our dishes were over salted, small portions for the price.
Loooooove the food here so much. The service is always very unspecial- perhaps because they have few staff and a lot of patrons? But at the end of the day who cares, because the food is WONDERFUL. and soooo pleased they take card now. The Sunday night meal for $50 is just divine.
Lovely Sunday supper with fresh local offerings--a chilled sweet potato soup, salt new potatoes with lump crab meat (back bay and butter--yum, yum), grilled beets, mussels and peaches and cream for dessert. All five courses were delicious, portions perfectly sized. Only suggestion I would have was that the cherry tomatoes with the mussels be sauteed instead of fresh/uncooked--they were delicious but overwhelmed the mussels as they were served. Pumpkin is a gem and the Sunday prix fixe is a good value.
Food was imaginative yet simple and so delicious. Attentive and accommodating service. Great place for my wife’s birthday dinner with our sons. Thank you !!!
We did the 4 course chefs tasting menu and it was so delicious! Perfect for a date night.
Beautifully prepared food. Everywhere beets are being served but none of them compared to the perfectly smokey flavor of these roasted beets. Peaceful environment and welcoming service. Our all time favorite BYOB.
Amazing food! We had the 4 course tasting menu and it was definitely worth it!
The food is always lovely and unique
It is really hard to overstate how consistently excellent Pumpkin’s Sunday prix fixe offerings have been over the past several years. We are rarely anything short of delighted and amazed with the inventive flavors and variety of dishes. There is definitely a theme and sensibility at work (can you say “dukkah”?), but it’s so reliably satisfying that we can’t imagine going anywhere else in Philly on a Sunday night. I travel all over the US (and work in NYC) and get to enjoy terrific meals most places I go. But I rarely have a meal that comes close to Pumpkin even at 2x or 3x the price.
The service was spot on. Really couldn’t ask for better service. Quaint little place. We liked the ambiance of the room. Our food was very good and priced fairly. The salt potatoes were out of this world delicious! We enjoyed all of our dishes but the desserts were not very interesting or impressive. Maybe the rest of the meal set us up for high expectations but the chocolate cake was chalky and the strawberry panna cotta was just ok. Other than the desserts, we thought the room, service, and food were great. Most importantly we had a very nice evening and we would definitely return. Get the salt potatoes!
Tasting menu. Everything was amazing.
