All was going relatively well until we had finished the starters. Then the service simply vanished. Waited far too long for the steaks. Had to chase for everything and send my steak back.
We went for the lunch deal and it was brilliant, staff were really attentive and helped with questions on the menu. Food was fabulous and very filling. Will definitely be back soon!
Food was okay - not really worth a £300 food bill or what I expected at a Michelin sgtar. Service was okay, again not what you would expect for a pricey restaurant.
Incredible food. Excellent service. Lovely setting. A real treat.
Amazing place, but food cold. Sent back and still came out cold the second time. Was that good though we ate it even though was cold
Great friendly waiter who knew everything about all the different cuts of steak. Cosy atmosphere and food was so delicious! Didn’t even need the sauces we ordered as there was so much flavour to the meat.
Just fantastic. Gorgeous atmosphere, lovely staff and amazing food. V worth a visit
Wonderful Sunday lunch at Pulperia with the family. Service was excellent, food exceptional. We did ask for the meat to be swapped over for a more lean serving and nothing was a problem. Starters and puddings were divine.
Top class Sunday dinner
Excellent Sunday lunch! Warm plates next time please.
Prime Rib is the best! Service is very good and wine selection as well. Definitely the best steak house
We chose the Galician beef to share. Whilst the flavour was exceptional, and the cooking spot on, the meat was actually quite tough - it was difficult to get a fork in and cut. We also had Patanegra and Smoked bone barrow, both of which were excellent. We loved the decor and the ambience and the wines were great too.
We found it strange to be told that we had the table for 1 1/2 hours, but we’re actually over 3 hours and never felt hassled. The even charged my phone for me - which was handy as it was my only means to pay and had our train tickets home on it!
We’d return, but probably choose differently.
A lovely meal with excellent service!
Beautiful food And catered for our dietary requirements, the tartare and the Finnish steak were absolutely unbelievable !!
Absolutely exceptional service as always and food was fantastic.
Always enjoy my time here which is why I keep coming back!
Absolutely amazing! Great food and service. A credit to Aktar Islam
Everything was good especially the octopus which was exceptional- extensive wine list but sadly the main event- the cote de boeuf - did not reach expectations.
The atmosphere was very subdued, possibly due to Covid.
The food at Pulperia was fantastic, absolutely no doubt about it. What was mildly frustrating was being told there was no chicken left so our choice was beef or beef. The beef was lovely but being the only choice was frustrating. The wine was also fantastic.
There were a couple of issues with the toilet not flushing correctly, and set up as as high end as Pulperia is, I’d expect that not to be an issue. All in a fantastic meal, but a couple of the finer details let the experience as a whole down. Would definitely go again though.
Sunday roast had bulk buy Yorkshire Pudding (not home made) The neat came in 3 small slices, thin like bacon. The vegetables and roast potatoes were nice though. But the whole meal was let down by the beef and the Yorkshire.
Overall a little underwhelming.
Was really excited to finally be trying Pulperia, however found the overall experience a little disappointing.
For starters we had chicken Empanada and the king prawns.
The Empanada was ok, but didn't wow us, and thought the prawns were really flavoursome however didn't seem to be much "meat" to them.
For main we shared the Porterhouse. The steak was cooked beautifully and the tenderness was great, but for the sirloin side felt it did lack flavour.
The creamed spinach was lovely.
No draft beer and only option of 2 bottled options was disappointing.
Overall, nothing blew us away or wowed us to want to return. Did not find it was good value for money when paying higher end prices.
Our server was lovely- knew her stuff :) Drinks service was very slow, however, as there was only one person working behind the bar
Not cheap, but good food well cooked, will certainly visit again
Exquisite food and 7star service … very personable experience from arrival to leaving…
Superb food and lovely friendly staff. Service was a bit strange though as our waitress seemed to disappear once we received our mains. After we’d sat with our finished main course plates for 20 minutes I managed to flag down a waiter who came and cleared them away. I then had to do the same 15 minutes later so we could order dessert. The staff were lovely though and the set lunch exceptional value, one of the best sirloins I’ve ever had and an excellent Malbec served as part of the lunch deal. No hesitation in going back
Great atmosphere & service. Starters superb especially the morcilla & pata negra. The steaks are cooked perfectly and the quality of the meat is outstanding. What an awesome meal.
Bread was delicious, rest of the meal was ok. Food was a bit average for the price we paid. Service at start was slow, no menus for 10 minutes or drinks order. Our table was terrible, sat right in the corner at the back of the restaurant. Personally I had to stare at a wall full of wine bottles all night, would have been nice to see some of the beautiful restaurant. Felt a bit claustrophobic. Table would be better positioned sideways so both guests can see a bit more.
Had a table for 6 people, only 2 of us have been before, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening, even the non meat eater who said the fish was great.
Lovely place to eat but unfortunately the food was covered in a lot of salt.
Overall this was very average. If you charge a lot for the food and set yourself up as upmarket fine dining then food should be excellent. The steak was tasty but rather tough, the sauce was really poor for £3:50 extra. The fries were something you could find in any pub and £5 a shot at veg portions. The carrots were nice but not special. The coffees were tiny and the cappuccino was more frothy than coffee. All a bit pretentious without enough substance. Staff were attentive and polite. Wine was nice but too pricey. Won’t be going back and pleased we didn’t spend another £30 on starters.
My wife’s fillet was excellent but my prime rib was a poor cut with too much sinew. The ceviche start was pleasant but so small it could have been mistaken for an amuse bouche.
Lovely restaurant, the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food was ok not worth what we paid though.
We had an amazing meal at pulperia, will definitely be dining there again.
Delicious food good service stunning venue will definitely be returning and recommending
Fantastic Sunday lunch, really good value for money and highly recommended. Service was a bit hit and miss which resulted in me eventually putting my hand up at one stage - lol
INCREDIBLE. We had the galician blonde for main on Sylvia's recommendation - it was delicious and the service was fantastic!!!
We can't wait to visit again!!
Cosy, elegant restaurant for a beautiful meal. Visited Pulperia for a birthday meal and had an excellent time. The food was really delicious, the courses well timed, the cocktails were tasty and well presented, the wine recommendations were spot on. The octopus starter and the prime rib were the highlights. I wouldn’t have expected to be so impressed by a seafood starter at a predominantly steak restaurant - but the octopus was something to write home about! Also the bread and butter from the nibbles section was like a trip down a memory lane.
The staff were all helpful and friendly. Excellent service that made our evening feel effortless and pleasant. Thank you!
Great food as always, wine list was a little abbreviated (a few of the reds were not available) but still plenty of choice and well matched to the food
Sicher eine der besten Adressen in Birmingham für Rindfleisch mit einem hervorragenden Rotwein.
Amazing food and a great choice of wine. Lovely atmosphere with fantastic service. Will definitely be returning
Sunday lunch at Pulperia is a must do. The food is delicious, generously portioned and the value is exceptional. One of my 10 best food experiences in Birmingham. The staff are excellent and while I don’t want to pick anyone out high praise goes to the wonderful sommelier who let me try her Alycone Tannat. But all the staff are very attentive without overdoing it. A great Birmingham restaurant.
