We were a party of 16. There were no other patrons there. We only had one server for all of us. Orders were mixed up or incomplete. There was a misunderstanding about how a dinner was charged. The server was doing her best but obviously the management was unconcerned about efficiency or our service. From the time we walked in the door until our checks were paid was two and a half hours. Arrival was 12:15pm and we left about 2:45. Several in our group said they would never go there again
Our server had our table and five more which was too much. One of our diners was having to ask for everything including a salad a drink and ordered oysters then was told after the fact there was none
Great dinner experience! I had dinner with three friends, and Puleo's was the perfect place! The restaurant was immaculate and the atmosphere very pleasant. Great soft rock music in the background, perfect for conversation. The food was fresh, hot and very tasty! All of us found our dinner to be excellent. I enjoyed the chopped chicken salad. Two of my friends enjoyed the chicken piccda and the other salmon. Everyone cleaned their plates!! As an appetizer, we choose the fried green tomatoes, excellent!! Fantastic dinner and evening!!
As far as the food was concerned, it was about average. The service likewise. Our issue was the fact that they seated us 75 minutes after our reservation. If all they were going to do was add our name to the end of a very long list, why take a reservation in the first place!?! Certainly reminded me of Seinfeld - they took the reservation, but they didn’t HOLD the reservation, and isn’t that what it’s all about? When I asked about the timing, after 60 minutes, they told me they don’t take reservations on Mother’s Day. So then why don’t you take your listing off Open Table. There are many better (and better run) restaurants in the area. I was quickly reminded why we had only eaten there one other time in the ten years this location has been open. We certainly will NOT be returning, and if you value your time - look elsewhere.
We were disappointed when we arrived for our reservation to be informed it would be 45 minutes before we could be seated. We waited beyond 45 minutes only to find out we had been forgotten when we asked the hostess on our status. They need a better process for handling reservations from open table, call ahead seating and walk-ins. Once we were seated, we then waited another 10 minutes for drinks and 5 more minutes for our food order. The food was very good, so this is the only reason I would recommend this restaurant. I did not find the hostess or wait staff very welcoming. I suggest calling prior to your reservation to confirm they can indeed accommodate you.
I use Open Table quite often, but don't use it for Puleo's - they don't consider your reservation. Was told that we had to wait until after the call-aheads were seated. The rude hostess told me that we would have to wait over 30 minutes until everyone else was seated. She said that people were calling ahead the night before and when I mentioned that I used Open Table 4 days earlier she rudely ignored me. I asked to speak with the manager who was very condescending and I think out of spite sat us at the end of the buffet line. We were the only guests seated in the room with the food. Terrible way to spend Mother's Day.
I love Puleo’s. It’s a local chain which provides good food in a nice environment. It’s old school in terms of a comfortable environment combined with excellent service and a variety of tasty dishes. You’re sure to find something for most every one in your party and to be able to converse without distracting TVs or echoing voices.
Sunday brunch. Food was decent (omelet cooked in kitchen was quick and hot) but stocking the buffet was iffy (and with only a handful of customers at the time). I hate having to watch the buffet constantly to see if items are refreshed. Some items did not come out till we were almost ready to leave. Waitress didn’t know why but I suspect this is normal and this is a common apology. Some items not warm even being on the line a short time. For the restaurant: if the buffet starts at 10 am make sure you’re ready at ten, not 11 am. Manager was pretty nice but staff really didn’t start showing up till after 11am. Will give it one more try.
We were pleasantly surprised to learn Puleo's had a Sunday Brunch. A small sampling of all their delicious menu items with breakfast and pastries added in. Perfect.
My wife and I are regular customers. Consistently tasty and top quality dishes. Karen always gives us great service.
Food was great, two of us had traditional Italian and the other two had seafood, we have been struggling to find a place that would satisfy our Italian fix in Tennessee.had a great time
Just don't. Cold food. Poor attitude of staff. Paid for a meal that was horrible and walked across the street to o'charleys for dinner. The empty parking lot should of been the first clue when everything else near by was packed.
Stopped in for our 37th anniversary meal. We both had the Sunday brunch and it was excellent. I combined the shrimp and sausage etoufee-like dish over grits from the breakfast area. We also had a vegatable omelet prepared for us and combined it with bacon and sausage from the breakfast bar and sauteed mushrooms for an everything omelet. My lovely bride enjoyed her meal with a glass of champagne or two. We sat in a booth in the bar area for an added bit of privacy. Thank you for the great food and pleasant service!!! For us it was the needed get away from a rather hectic last month.
We had a reservation for brunch and the buffet was outstanding. There was something for everyone. Also a carving station and one could order an omelet. The omelet was the best! And huge - but I never think of huge as what makes something good. But the omelet was indeed delicious. We enjoyed it so much that we returned Sunday night for dinner.
Mother’s Day buffet was good and very reasonably priced. The roast beef served was very grisly and not on par with other mother stay buffets in the area. We usually go to Copper cellar with similar pricing and prime rib on the buffet but we came out to Alcoa because we were assured a booth and would not be crammed in. If the meat carvings were a better quality we would definitely come back.
I was greatly disappointed in the quality and selections of food for a Mother’s Day Brunch. All the meats and most of the vegetables my family tried were too salty. The ambiance was what was expected for a family restaurant. Over all it was okay but not what it should have been for the price.
We went for Easter brunch and were terribly disappointed. We were seated right away, at 12:45, but when we went to the buffet, it was totally picked over. There was no sign of anyone replenishing dishes, most dishes were almost empty, and the whole presentation was completely unappetizing - food spills everywhere. Ick! We ended up ordering off the menu, which was fine, but it was not at all what we were expecting.
Just not good
We always enjoy going to Puleo’s. They have an extensive menu featuring some authentic Italian options, steak, and seafood. It is always fresh and well portioned.
Service was excellent, and so was the prime rib. We were a party of 7, and everyone was pleased with their meal.
A group 11 of us with reservation were some of the only people in the restaurant, I say this bc we got the most inexperienced server. He messed up water orders, left out appitizer orders, never brought bread he himself offered to bring, made suggestions on food that they did not have in stock, gave a co-worker a requested GF menu and then placed the order that was not on the GF menu and caused an allergic reaction, it took 30 min to get our drink order, and an hour to get our food. Then when the food came 3 orders were wrong including another allergy issue that had been voiced when ordering. Then the checks were completely messed up to the point we just all paid it and ran away as quickly as we could. A member of our party was rude at the end to the staff but we apologised for his behavior, but over all it was the worst dining experience we all have had EVER. Run away... Unfortunately the food itself was actually solid, to bad everything else detracted from that.
Quite and nice atmosphere. Waiters and staff nice and accommodating.
Excellent food; five in our group; prime rib was excellent and prepared exactly as ordered; chicken mushroom soup was delicious. The chicken piccata had great taste. Highly recommend this restaurant.
We just wanted a meal out so we didn't have to cook. Italian sounded good. Restaurant was about 1/2 full. We were seated in booth in very visable area. After no acknowledgement that we were in a server's area for more than 10 minutes, we asked hostess if we had been placed in an unassigned area. She went into the kitchen (we could see that because we were sitting 12 feet from the kitchen door), she came back out but never updated us on the situation. Eventually a young man waited on us. The food was not very tasty and yet priced on the high side for what it was. Unfortunately we will not be back.
My wife had the lasagna and I had the shrimp and grits. Both were very good, and the serving sizes were more than we could eat in one sitting, so took leftovers home and had another excellent meal the following day.
Great food! Reasonable prices, great service too! Hoping you'll come to Florida!!
The restaurant featured grouper on the menu which made the spot seem very enticing. We were greeted with it has not been on the menu for quite sometime. Our server was very attentive to our needs and worked to ensure we were happy otherwise.
Good food. Great service wonderful experience
Been going here 1x or 2x a month for at least 10 years. Let me add by saying it was a training dinner for all. Were greeted by two very pleasant servers. Guy was training the girl on her first night. Food was delicious. A few mixups but all in all staff was wonderful.
As always top notch choices, ambience, food, drinks, and extra Awesome wait staff and management!
Brought family in from out of town, (always my go to place for out of towners), 😉👍, and they were Thrilled!
Great Food. Great space for groups. Great service
Prime rib special was o.k. Could have been a little bigger but the price was right, $10.99. I didn't like the fact that it came with gravy on it.
We made reservations for Father's Day lunch. We were seated in the brunch area, a separate room from the main floor. The temperature was uncomfortably warm with the room a toasty 15-20 degrees warmer than main seating area. The server was super apologetic and helpful, continuing to bring ice and water for our drinks. It was not a good experience eating good while sweating.........the manager gave a slight discount on the the meal but never even came to table to apologize. It is highly unlikely we will ever go back again.
Nice atmosphere. Terrific whipped sweet potatoes, fried green tomatoes, and crème brulee cheesecake. Prime rib au jus was more like gravy. Could have skipped that. Also, $9 for a glass of house wine was a bit much. But we like Puleo's and will go back.
Food was delicious. Many options. Service was pitiful. Our waiter never smiled. Not sure he even made eye contact. We were a med-large group so I can understand this can be difficult , but the staff attitude should have been more positive . In addition one member of our group never received his food . It arrived when everyone else finished and we boxed it to go. No explanation, apology, or attempt for reparations . Just oh ok.... bye. Yes bye it is. Forever.
The prime rib special can't be beat! The flavor was delicious and with the added horseradish sauce I was in heaven. The fried pickles were superb. Everyone in my family loved them. We have a son who attends Maryville College and we try to visit this restaurant every time we are in town. The cost is reasonable especially when you are taking a bunch of college boys out to dinner. There is always plenty of food for them to eat. The variety of choices makes and obvious choice. The house Merlot was excellent. The wait staff were attentive and pleasant. We could even hear our waitress singing in the kitchen.
Puleo's has a very good Sunday brunch or you can order off the menu. Brunch has good French toast, shrimp and grits, pastas with meat and chicken, coconut cod, carved pork loin and excellent carved beef as well as salads and desserts (cannoli is very good). Menu has a lot of variety if you just want to order from it
