Born in Mexico City and rooted in Southern California, Puesto is an award-winning Mexican Artisan Kitchen providing a fresh and contemporary take on authentic Mexican cuisine in an unique and upscale environment.

With handmade maiz azul stone-ground tortillas made daily in house, sustainable meats and seafood, slow-cooked guisados, and scratch salsas, Puesto’s menu is a celebration of fundamental Mexican flavors and an homage to the cosmopolitan palate of Mexico City, courtesy of Executive Chef/Partner Luisteen Gonzalez and Executive Creative Chef Katy Smith.

Was an incredible dining experience - ambiance was great, food was excellent, drinks are superb! Would definitely go back if I ever am in San Diego. Get the Gobernador and Carne Asada tacos!!

Everything was great, however, it took a really long time to get our food. We had to take it to go, so that we wouldn’t miss a comedy show :(

I really like the Filet Mignon tacos..but it is way overpriced. I have not had a taco like this restaurants but it is just not the kind of place that I will go to just for lunch because..rather an occasion. My family chose different food items from the menu and they where also sattisfied witht their food...so food is definately 100 percent..my only and biggest complaint is price.

The filet mignonette tacos were fantastic. Started out with the guacamole and it was also very good. They make their tortillas as you watch and then wrap your meat in the cheese sleeves. Service was great and food was a ten.

Great! Best tacos ever! Love the filet mignon tacos - they are to die for! The corn dish is also excellent. Margaritas are delish. We love both locations - the one in La Jolla and the one in San Diego. Favorite place for great Mexican food! The wait staff is always very friendly and attentive too!!

The service was great everywhere from the host to the bartender to our servers but the food was disappointing compared to the downtown location. This was my first time dining in La Jolla and I expected the same food quality as the downtown location however this definitely wasn’t the case.

Food has always been good to great; margaritas are phenomenal but the service was beyond dreadful. Table was not available when we arrived, bartender not responsive, server... well, I hope it was his first day, but I gather it was not. Disappointing, to say the least.

I ordered Maine Lobster and Spicy Atún taco, lobster pieces were dry and hard as the rock, ahi was also over cooked. I was very disappointed. I used to like this restaurant but I don’t think I go back.

Food is always great but it drives me in saying that they never bring the guacamole out as an appetizer. What is the point of ordering appetizers when you bring them out with the entrée. Services never been great here either typically always need a water refill.
