Our server Ashley was sort nice. Made us feel very welcomed. Puesto made our dining experience wonderful for our one of our family members birthday.
All bark with no bite. The food was pretty and the concepts were nice but the taste was meh! Bland and and definitely what I expected. I’ve heard all the hype was was very excited to try, just didn’t hit the mark.
Beautiful restaurant, we have been there a couple of times. The food is just ok, but I should say it is not for Mexican people. The salsas are not spicy at all, not even mild hot. We had the "caldo tlalpeño" which should be cooked with chipotle peppers, but that was actually a tortilla soup and...not spicy at all!
We had a good time, the service is excellent, but I really was expecting much more on the food.
It was our first time there. The entree we had was really good (gourmet tacos) but I wish they had a more expanded menu: just one page. The other page was all drinks.
Good food and ambiance! I loved that the food was fresh and vibrant! Music was a little too loud I couldn’t hear my friends speak very well. But music was fun and energetic. Will definitely go again!
Service was extremely slow. Server had a lot of customers in her station while others stood around watching us look for service, like more water and chips. My order was not quite right but I ate it anyway because I didn’t want to wait any more. Food was okay. Won’t be back.
Service we awful. We would have reordered food and drinks several times if we had someone attentive to our table. It took way too long to get any cocktails. Margaritas are their specialities but it seems no one knows how to make a good one. Very inconsistent.
The food is amazing here. Very colorful and tasty. You will not be disappointed. They have a fairly good selection of tequila and mescal as well. I was particularly excited about a certain hard to find mescal that they had, however the server got my order wrong. No problem though, I mentioned my disappointment to the manager on my way out and they happily made it right by personally pouring it for me at the bar (no charge). This lead to a great conversation about the regions and origins of mescal and tequila. I'll be back, with friends.
The food is good, just way overpriced for what it is. The service has been pretty awful both times we have been there. This time we were in a group and the food came out for half of the table 20 min before the other half.
Definitely over priced and the fact that they charge you $2 extra por taco for shrimp and the tacos only come with 3 shrimps.
Food is terribly bland, salsa was salty and inedible. All of the tacos lacked any sort of flavor. This place might be good for drinks. Go to Dos Coyotes instead...
Food was okay. It was bland
It's a beautiful restaurant, but the food doesn't live up to the venue setting. The wine list is mediocre. Selections from the limited menu are just okay. They really need to expand their menu and the prices are high. Eleven dollars for a guacamole dish appetizer! They have a wonderful bar design, but most customers come for food and drink.
Cool looking place and vibe. Didn’t realize the focus of the menu was taco heavy but that’s ok because I love tacos! Had Margaritas, chicharrones and tacos. Marg and Chich were great! Tacos were just ok. Sadly everything was overpriced, especially Marg and Tacos. Service was less than ok. Only way I’d go back is on taco Tuesday where the tacos are cheaper and to give them a second chance as they had potential.
Service is excellent! Very tasty salsa, and tacos were upscale and very tasty
Delicious meal, but way too expensive! Really overpriced.
This restaurant is located in The Veranda outdoor mall in Concord, CA. With that said, usually restaurants in malls are lacking in elevated food. We went at around 4pm on a very rainy Monday. There were less than 10 people in a very big restaurant at that in-between time. After waiting a few minutes to be greeted, a busser came by with some chips and a small, I mean small, taste of salsa. The container for the salsa should be thought over, as it is awkward trying to dip a tortilla chip in that vessel which is normally meant for butter. With that all said, the salsa and chips were very good. We had the Filet Mignon tacos and I had the Lobster Taco. Both were delicious! The tortillas were blue corn and excellent, too. We really enjoyed the food, however, the service was slow from beginning to end. Not sure why that happens in restaurants at that in-between hour. We had Cadillac Margaritas which were sublime! The only reason I am not giving this review 5 stars, is because the price of the margaritas were ridiculous for Concord, CA; $17/each! That is definitely San Francisco pricing. We enjoyed our tacos and margaritas despite a weird vibe in this restaurant and with the check being $99.00 before tip for 4 tacos and 3 margaritas, we will go up valley to Thomas Keller’s new restaurant, La Calenda, next time we feel the urge to drop over a hundred on tacos.
Our very first visit, we plan to visit in the far future
Overall it was a fine dinner, but it took about 15 minutes for anyone to greet us. Drinks took forever, we never got more water, we had to ask for things several times. Our waitress was nice enough but clearly overwhelmed. The whole wait staff seemed that way, but the restaurant while somewhat busy was no where near capacity. I was hoping for much, much more. I doubt we’ll be back. For the price, the lack of experience was definitely not worth it (even if the food was tasty!)
Surprise Birthday with girls
Everything our party of nine had was absolutely wonderful. Not your usual Mexican restaurant. I so look forward to returning very soon.
Good tacos for taco Tuesday but service was so slow.
We really enjoyed Puesto. The ability to pick & choose tacos was very cool. Between 3 people, we tried 5 different tacos and on Tuesday, they're cheaper than usual. Very cool! Food quality was very high, drink prices were reasonable and the overall experience was great.
Fantastic! The Cadillac margaritas are everything!
We booked Puesto for 4 for lunch. It wasn't busy, with many empty tables, yet we were seated on a 6 top next to a family with little kids. It was mildly loud for being only half way full. I would not want to be there when it was crowded, or it would be hard to have a conversation.
The good: The tacos are tasty, you can choose 3 from a fun selection for a fixed price. While on the smaller side, they pack some good flavors. We didn't feel stuffed. The chips and salsa were good too. We were seated right away, and the waiter was friendly. We liked the light coming into the place, the art, and the bar with all the bottles in the air.
The bad: The guacamole was not good. Whoever did the avocado prep did not remove any of the bad parts. I found mold/black bits, strings of avocado growth, and dark chunks. It also was not taste-balanced well - lots of cilantro and onion, no zip of lemon or lime. Kind of bland. The four of us didn't finish it, which is really rare. One of the fish tacos that was supposed to be fresh was too fishy. While we loved the salsa, it came in tiny plastic cups that were enough for about 5 chips before you needed more. Even though service was friendly, it felt like they were not experienced enough to know when to check on us, and didn't get back that fast. Also, the bar made a mistake with our order and ended up having to get our ok to add an additional shot to the order.
Overall, it seems like I am in agreement with a lot of the reviews so far. Service could be a little better - faster, coordinated, and food could have more attention to detail. It did just open late last year, so maybe it's still growing pains. But, it just felt like nobody with experience was in charge, and staff was not trained well. For the prices they have on the menu, it should be a little more professional. Maybe they will grow into it. I am unlikely to recommend it for now. If they can get it together, it will be a great outdoor place for summer.
We’ve eaten at the new Concord location several times now. Each time hoping the experience will improve. The service is generally poor and many of the service team seem to have attitudes - inconvenienced by the fact that we are dining there. The menu is somewhat innovative, but the problem is that the food is VERY spicy. And I general like hot spice. The chef seems to have a heavy hand with the peppers. It’s in everything and most of our group last night could not even finish their food. The drinks are small, full of large ice cubes and overpriced. The whole experience is overpriced. We are not going to return. There are many other much better choices for Mexican in the area.
The food was delicious, as my wife and I enjoyed the three tacos plate along with the esquite. I did not receive the drink I had ordered from the bar until ten minutes after we had received our dinner, however. The restaurant's tables are placed far too close together, and it felt as though we were having a meal with ten other people rather than a nice date night out with each other. Hopefully, this will be fixed. While the noise level is not expected to be low, with the table placement, it made conversation extremely difficult, so the ambiance took much away from the dining experience. We would return for the food and drink (although the communication between server and the bar must be better so we are not being served our beverage halfway through our meal), but not for the environment.
Food was great and waiter was excellent
TERRIBLE! I was not expecting to write this review, I feel I have to and I should. Other diners must know what to expect. It was our 1st time there, and I am regretting why I chose Valentines Day. I sincerely hoped this was a safe bet considering the location and cuisine(being my wife’s fav). It surely didn’t turn out that way. I booked it online and they gave us 8:45pm booking. With 1 day left, there wasn’t many options, so I decided to go for it. I called them to check if they would let us in early due to any cancellations, they said they can try. It was raining so we didn’t take the risk, got there just on time. We got the table, server took order in a rush, without explaining why. I thought may be its just busy today. Next thing we know order starts coming in parts, like sides first, then water, then the rest all within 5mins. We order a little as we wanted to be careful we don’t order too much, it was our first time there. Then we decided to order more they simply refused it. Kitchen closed he said (we never knew). Like sharp at 9pm barely 15mins after we walked in. Shocked, I requested waiter to check again he refused. We weren’t happy and then he kept checking on us every 2min to see if we are done, then took my plate while I was distracted talking to my wife. Overall service - Pathetic. The staff is better off running a garage sale. I still didn't want to ruin the mood of our eve, but I thought I should have a quick chat with manager on our way out. Hoping he would understand and just apologize for inconvenience etc. instead to my shock again he was one of the most arrogant person, I met. He decided to give us a lecture of “how it works” in bay area. Seriously? What made him think we aren’t locals? That’s rude. We do dine at the best restaurants we know and we are not stupid. He was talking to us as if we live in a different world. Waste of discussion mood ruined we walked out of restaurant shaking our heads with disbelief and dismay. You have been warned.
Great ambiance nice modern decor food was great very inventive. Service was good and fast for how busy it was.
Food as good as your hole in the wall Mexican food, but price not as steep as Mexican fusion.. so overall great value!
Nothing special to write home about
The food here is amazing! We had the shrimp ceviche, grilled vegetable Chile Relleno, and a trio of blue corn tacos (filet mignon, chicken pastor, and Maine lobster). Drinks are a bit on the expensive side, but tasty. Highly recommend!
Good food and drink, and service! A little pricey though. I mean, $13 for a margarita? And $17 for three stree taco sized tacos. Tacos were good, but small
Beautiful restaurant. Very limited menu. Tacos is only main dish, very pricey!
Liked it, it was good tacos and many different choices for them. The drinks where not bad either, the margaritas are pretty strong. Will come back
Food was delicious and the waiter was friendly
Food was bursting with flavor. Service was excellent.
Not wowed. I found the food to be very salty and overpriced
