Love the tacos every time they are soo good, great service. The only thing was our rice didn't taste like anything, it's usually amazing, but maybe it was a little busy?
we had a great experience until we were unceremoniously removed from our seats for a private party. they could have offered us another table since we were having conversation. instead they removed all of our dishes (without asking if we were finished) and told us to leave.
I'm giving the 5 stars for our server Kirby. He was awesome. Service in the restaurant otherwise was slow. The kitchen was slow, the bar service was slow and most of all the bussing of the tables was extremely slow. There were people waiting and dirty tables all around.
This is the first time that I have been disappointed in Puesto. This place is a family "Go To" for us and we usually love it. We had fish tacos, tacos al pastor and the special-surf n turf; none of which were very good and felt all were overpriced for the size, taste and quality. It may be a while before we go back and hope to have a better experience like we have in the past.
Great any delicious tacos. Love the outside dining area.
Really good tacos. outside seating was great.
Gredat food and ambiance. Menu is limited to mostly tacos and some appetizers. The filet tacos were delicious! Avocado marg was unique and worth trying! We will definitely be coming back.
The food arrived before our cocktails and it was cold. Its an overpriced taco bar. The chips are stale and the salsa lacks flavor. I will not be going back
Loved this place. Thank you for the experience. Will definitely return.
We enjoyed our meal. The sauce on the shrimp tacos was exceptional. Very friendly and attentive bar staff.
Great table near the kitchen. Waitstaff was excellent.
Amazing staff and outstanding food! Highly recommend this place!
A San Diego favourite. We will always stop for Puestos when in SD or La Jolla.
Excellent in all ways. Treated us to anniversary drink! Best waitress Casey!
I had never been to this place before and had a friend in from out of town. I chose this place to try something different and have a nice place to eat that was close to the airport. I enjoyed everything from the ambiance to the wait staff to the food.
This was my third time here...this time with a group of 7 to celebrate two birthdays. The food, as on the prior visits, was terrific. I have mostly positives to say about Puesto, so will just add two negatives: 1)I'd like to see a greater selection of sharing plates/appetizers/tapas and 2)The food and cocktails could be slightly cheaper...not too much lower, but I think the prices are just a tad on the higher side for a casual place like this. That said, they're not outrageous by any means, and one is not only paying for the delicious food, but the comfortable ambiance.
Ordered fish tacos, Ahi tuna taco and Lobster taco. Lobster was dry and lacked flavor, as did the Ahi tuna taco. The fish tacos were good, although they lacked seasoning. Overall, high priced for what you get. Clearly it’s all about the location.
Slow service and our server did not acknowledge though I noted it on the reservation that we were there for my birthday. Taco of the mouth (shredded beef) wasn’t good at all. You Pay for the ambience. Go elsewhere for better tasting tacos for half the price.
The food was mediocre at best. The ahi tuna taco was fishy... ahi tuna should not be fishy. Ordered 3 tacos for $18 (additional cost for the ahi) ... only one I enjoyed was the carnitas. Too many other (much better) places ... I would definitely go somewhere else. I think this place might be preying on tourists. Check out Yelp and go somewhere else for sure.
Taco Tuesday is great at Puesto!
Good food took wayyyyyy too long to get our tacos.
My youngest ,who is 16, has a severe nut allergy but still loves to try new restaurants. He was excited when the menu on the restaurant's website listed dishes which contained nuts. To us this meant the other dishes would be safe to eat,we couldn't imagine any other reason to take the time and trouble to list these dishes . We got to the restaurant and identified that he is allergic to nuts and unlike NY no manager ever came over or no person identified themselves as a manager and asked about the allergy. When he went to order certain things we were told that anything that is placed in the fryer is contaminated as peanuts are routinely placed in the communal fryer . I said to the waitress how this makes little sense since the restaurant made a concerted effort to list which dishes had nuts implying the others are nut free and she looked at me and said I guess you're right and shrugged her shoulders.
The food was great, but the handling of the allergy and the way the menu lists dishes with nuts is silly and potentially dangerous. Coupled with the apathy and disinterest of the staff I would be very careful recommend going here if you have a nut allergy . I know there is always potential cross contamination but this is counterintuitive and easily fixed
Over priced. 9 tacos, 2 beers, guacamole=$105.00 plus tip. Wow.
great food...great ambiance...creative latin cuisine...service was lackluster...we waited for over 45 minutes for our tacos...management noted the time before us saying anything, they took care of most of most of the dinner cost...
I made a reservation for this restaurant and I was late. I did not anticipate the parking situation at Seaport Village in San Diego. We phoned the restaurant to let them know and they were very understanding (we were about 10min late). Being a little hassled from the parking experience we were greeted at our table by a nice looking friendly young man name Zachary. Zachary was the best and made our dining experience just wonderful. We had the 3 tacos, I loved the Chicken Tomatillo and Carnitas, my friends raved about the mushroom taco's and the filet minot taco. For drinks, since I was driving I only had water. My friends had Sangria, which was great - she loved the fact that it was not overloaded with sugar. My other friend enjoyed a Paloma which came in a tall glass and seemed plentiful. I would definitely come back here but this time take Lyft or UBER. Again, a shoutout to Zachary who was attentive, very nice and let us know the status of our meal - he is truly a gem !
The food was very good. They were kind enough to offer us complimentary desserts as it it was my anniversary. Great service and ambience!
Food was excellent. Margaritas by the bottle is the way to go!
Birthday for me
The food was great, as always!!! I appreciated that they had a table that would accommodate the wheelchair my mom was in. Our server was attentive and nice. Totally enjoyed our evening at Puesto.
The food and drinks were amazing. A must try.
Really love the ambiance. Located in a neat area. Food was good, but a little pricey for what you get.
Honeymoon. Good food, good time!
Wonderful food and great service! Definitely make a reservation as it gets very busy at night!
This was our third dining experience at Puesto. Previously we had their specialty tacos and they were quite good. This time we decided to try two different bowls, one carnitas and the other chicken. Even though there was plenty of ingredients in each bowl, the meat was sorely lacking. The flavor of the meat was underwhelming and the other items seemed like a throw-in. For the price charged we felt that they were overpriced. We also wanted to try one of their specialty margaritas and selected the Cadillac. Touted to be made with an organic tequila, we thought it wasn't much different than any other Cadillac margarita. For the $17 priced charged for each and the size of the glass served, we were definitely overcharged. Probably won't be back to Puesto again with so many Mexican establishments to choose from in San Diego.
We were in town celebrating our second anniversary the staff were very thoughtful and provided a wonderful dessert for us.
Great meal, service was outstanding.
Really nice place at the headquarters. Service was on point, very attentive. Food was great and the decor was very nice as well
I love this Restaurant but if you want a nice quite evening its not the place but it is a great
place if your in seaport villige to have dinner. and a nice drink :)
Excellent food, excellent outdoor seating and great service. Perfect meal!
Tacos are delicious and the restaurant itself is a really cool place to hang out.
