Puesto doesn’t ever disappoint. Every time we’ve been there the street tacos are amazing. Service is excellent and the ambiance is perfect for sharing a meal with friends.
The food is always delicious, I am never disappointed when I eat here. I just wish some menu items would come back; like the Soy Chorizo taco.
Every taco on the menu is a gem! Be sure and always order the Taco of the Month.
The food was fantastic. I had let the hostess know it was my boyfriends birthday, nothing was brought out. We received our food before our first cocktails. Which is okay the drinks were comped but we would have rather have enjoyed a couple drinks instead of just one. It was an okay experience.
The spicy margarita was amazing! Service was wonderful. We tried 6 different tacos and the filet Mignon taco was definitely the best. I also enjoyed the grilled pulpo taco in second. The salsa was delish too which I appreciated!
It was very TEX MEX. We are expecting San Diego to have a more authentic Mexican food. Fish taco had cream on it and the piece of fish was small. (Again, being on the Ocean...we expected more fish at a higher quality.) The margaritas were also too sweet.
Our server had a great personality. He worked hard and really hustled.
Great ambiance, good Margaritas, delicious food, and outstanding service. Definitely I will be back.
Personally I feel $100 for 6 tacos and a margarita and some tequila is way overpriced! We were seated for quite some time before anyone approached our table. I also had to ask the waitress for a refill on my drink after she passed me by. The tacos were delicious and different than any I've ever had! Service could have been better though.
the food is amazing and we have been fortunate to have the same waitress who recognized us when we came back, her name was Edith and she took very good care of us!
The tacos were very good. Our server forgot to put in our appetizers, so our meal came out first. Also, the bar was pretty slow at getting out our drinks. It was a fun place but service was a little lacking.
Very slow service. Had a reservation and had to wait an extra 30 minutes to be seated and another thirty for our server to get our food. Will not be coming back here ever.
The best tacos ever!!! Would definitely recommend to all ages. A fun night
Honestly, I just come for the margaritas. They aren't gigantic, but they are strong and this is just a fun local spot to relax when friends are in town.
Great service! Server very attentive and food was excellent. Will go back.
Some areas are noisy so if want quiet state so when making reservations.
Great place for a birthday dinner.
Taco Tuesday is not a good time to enjoy dining at Puesto Marina anymore, not like use to be, our waiter is like a chicken with no head, he has so many table to serve, I understand, but can he get some help, other workers are just walking around doing nothing. we waited for 1 1/12 to have our tacos, we asked the bus person for straws for our drink and he said ask our waiter, we waited so much time in that night. No fun. Wish that they will improve the service, we been eating there and everytime we reserved a table. Please let the Puesto management team know, that they need to bring back the high standard of their service.
Great service, delicious drinks, wonderful tacos as usual. I wish the Verduras taco was the older recipe though. Now it has a couple too many potatoes in it. Our group had a great time and we will continue to return.
Food was very tasty. We sat next to the kitchen and watxhed thsm prepare the food. Our server Lisa was super friendly and attentive without being over the top.
We got there 10 minutes before closing, a really nice guy greeted us and told us that we were not going to be rushed to eat and to enjoy our food. Super nice.
Horrible service. The octopus taco was very hard and not fresh. The waiter forgot to bring the drinks and offered the dessert when we were waiting our tacos. No sense and motivation to offer a good service.
BE AWARE the restaurant charge 4% extra without any reason.
I would never recommend this restaurant to any friend.
Everything was beyond what I expected. We sat on the 2nd floor(definitely reccomend for privacy). We were very hungry so we asked for it all. I ordered the Nopalitos which were delicious. Ordered the Potato Taquitos, omg..speechless. My partner ordered their Migas Taco, Mushrooms, and Veggies. They were delicious and looked phenomenal. I ordered the Crispy Tamarindo Shrimp Tacos and were really good. The complimentary chips are the best with the salsa it comes with. Ricardo the server was great.
It’s a great place to eat upper scale Mexican food. The tacos are great but they do tend to be on the more expensive side. It has great ambiance and the wait staff are all super friendly.
The ambiance is great and the food is quality; however, their customer service was very poor. We made a reservation and they told us that 3 different tables were being “cleaned off” for us and we were seated 20 minutes after our reservation time. They took long to do everything and weren’t very friendly. We felt like a bother to them.
The tacos were fantastic the tuna and chicken were my favorite. The margaritas were perfect.
Be aware they add a “service charge” of 4% to every check. When asked about this seemingly random fee, I was told it’s to “offset the wage the pay their back of the house employees so they don’t have to raise menu prices.” Translation: owner greed. You can make money AND pay your employees well. One is NOT exclusive of the other. It didn’t help that our waiter was handling at least 4 other tables beside ours. But the food is consistent and quite tasty.
Great Setting. Fantastic Filet Mignon Tacos. Delicious Margaritas.
The food here was fantastic. We ordered the guacamole and taco options. The guacamole was freshly made which was great. The tamarindo shrimp were delicious. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and blended with the sauce in the tacos. Of the three tacos, we had the taco of the month, a filet mignon and chicken a la pastor. All were excellent choices. Will definitely return during our next visit.
The food was average at best and for the price, i would never recommend this place to a friend. Very large drink menu but the drinks were OK and nothing spectacular. They add 4% up charge - this part annoyed me the most because you should just raise all of your prices by 4% not hide at the bottom of the menu an added 4% will be included on the bill for no reason. Way better mexican places in San Diego, do not waste your time or money here
Went here on a lark with my date. They picked up the reservation on time and seated is really well. We were not necessarily in the mood to alcohol so I had a lovely mango agua fresca. Perfectly sweet and I ordered their award winning chicken taco and the verdura and the ahituna while my date ordered a ceviche. Both if which came out in very quick time and was fresh and delicious through and through. Definitely surprised by the taco flavors and pleasantly so. Highly recommend a stop.
This place has really good tacos that are unique. The atmosphere is great in the old police headquarters. The wait staff was knowledgeable and friendly.
They are pretty pricey for good and drinks in San Diego. Do or example a margarita was $15 and served in a low-ball glass.
We went to Puesto for my birthday and had a fabulous meal!! Tasty margaritas, amazing chips and salsa and guac, and scrumptious chicken bowl for dinner. Everything was wonderful!! Highly recommend!!
An overall consensus from our group of 9 was that the food was either great or not at all, for the prices portions are small. Good guacamole for sure!
The service was mediocre at best, had to ask for non alcoholic drink refills and chips and salsa consistently but they were very obliging for the alcohol drinks...oh another thing, the seats are very uncomfortable. I think if you’re just going for the bar scene you’ll be happy.
Our final bill was $317.00, not worth it. We’ll try another spot next time we’re in San Diego.
I thought there would be more options in the menu. It is a bit expensive for a couple of tacos.
Very noisy. $80 for tacos for two and one weak margarita. Go for the scene.....Not the food.
Great time and service as usual. Our server Brandon was on point with service. Will definitely be back. The only complaint was the tap beer. WAY TOO MUCH CO2! So I ordered a Victoria. I didn’t complain though.
A very fun restaurant with good food.
We arrived for our dinner reservation and found that the staff were running a bit late and that we wouldn't be sat for 20 minutes. The staff was extremely apologetic and the general manger John went ABOVE AND BEYOND once we sat down to compensate for the late sitting: he comped us two lovely appetizers and our drinks as well as apologized numerous times for the delay. Our waiter was lovely and he brought us delicious food which we thoroughly enjoyed. We are planning on revisiting this restaurant EVERY TIME work brings us to San Diego.
Our table was next to the kitchen, worst table in the place. It was hot, loud and had people constantly running trays to/from the kitchen. Normally I love this place but the table location made this experience awful.
This restaurant has gone downhill. The food is ok but the service is very spotty and honestly you can get much better food elsewhere with similar type of food. I just hate places that feel rushed and the servers feel rushed. And their knowledge of their own dishes was bad.
Just please make sure to check me in with opentable cause I wasn’t checked in and they kicked me out of the app so I had to write to them so I can go back on it was really mad about that
