It seemed like no servers knew what the table numbers were. Multiple tables including ours got the wrong items delivered. We witnessed a drink get brought to the wrong table, then ten minutes later the customers let her know that it wasn’t the right drink. Then we overheard a table say they had not gotten that same type of drink (they had been waiting their entire stay there, and they were already eating) and the woman tried to give them the drink that came from the other table!!!! Then when the customers said “didn’t that just come from the other table?” And the girl said “oh yeah… sorry, I’ll go get you a new one.” And I watched her go to her coworker, with their backs turned to that table, the girl handed the drink and tray to her coworker, and then they delivered that same drink back to the customers pretending like they had remade it. I was absolutely shocked. I’m in the service industry and that was just really appalling that they’d do that in the middle of the restaurant. Drinks and food came out at all different times, so my son was done eating by the time the adult’s food came. Which was odd. We also witnessed a man who was dining alone go to the bathroom, they started bussing his table in the middle of him sitting there. He had two diff drinks nearly full, and a whole basket of chips still. The table was completely biased which means the guy put his hands all over the customers drink and chips and food or whatever. Then the girl came over and was like “no no he’s in the bathroom still he’s still here.” And then they quickly set the table back up after they had touched everything and thrown it all on a tray. I swear I’ve been to this place so many times and have never seen any of these things happen. But the amount of errors we noticed and food and health code violations that were committed in the open really worries me about what’s happening behind the scenes.

Delicious cocktails, crunch chips, and tasty tacos! Menu recommends 3 tacos, but they're larger than street size, so with chips and salsa, you only really need 2.

Love Puesto tacos for their flavor combinations--the birria one was full of tender sauced meat--so good. Had the mushroom one in La Jolla and loved it but here it was all one kind of mushroom and did not measure up. The veggie one Verdura, just did not do it for me...some small hard chunks (potato?) so would not order again.
The real disappointment was the Pina Colada--where's the coconut taste? Not in this beautiful looking drink with a tasty toothpick garnish.
Our server was quick and clever and she found a pillow to spare me yet another hard metal chair. What is it with restaurants and their uncomfortable metal chairs. All diners deserve a seat that is comfortable.
We love you Puesto, but tonight was just not our night.

One of our favorite places in San Diego! I’m vegan and they make it so easy for me to go with non-vegans. Everyone is happy, and the Cucumber margarita hit the spot!
Server Jenna went out of her way to make sure we had an exceptional visit. Ask for her!!

It took forever for the adults at the table to receive their food. After seeking a general manager to find out what’s going on, we were advised by the GM that the kitchen was backed up. I’m a strong believer of transparency! The waiter should have at least stayed in touch with our table and communicated what the delay was.

Fine ingredients, including many organic items, line-caught fish, wild shrimp and flavorful preparation are most important for us, and we found them here. Especially tasty were the Chicken Pastor tacos, the Ceviche, and the black beans. The beer was also good. Less impressive were the margaritas--much too sweet, so they tasted as if they are made from mixes, rather than fresh ingredients. Be sure to make reservations, as this is a very busy place with long waits for walk-in customers.

The food was very good . Last time we ate there, the waiter was extra friendly and very accommodating. This time, we ordered a guacamole appetizer and it was thrown on our table by the server. Our waiter was very nice, but when we tried to order some customized burritos, we were told that wasn’t possible. We returned to this restaurant because we had such a good experience the first time. This time wasn’t as good.

Server YaYa (Yajaira) was extraordinary. Warm and welcoming and helpful with the menu. We were entertaining out-of-town business associates and our downtown dinner made them fall in love with San Diego. They especially enjoyed the dogs on the patio. (I guess that's not a Texas thing.)

Our waiter is pleasant and very accommodating to our request. Pork rinds are crispy, but make sure you finish before it gets cold. Salsa set allows me to sample various flavors with the chips. Tacos (Filet mignon, carnitas) were delicious. Drinks (margaritas) were heavy on the ice: less than half-glass liquid with ice removed.

We had made our reservations like they offer and still were made to wait almost 30 mins after realizing they forgot about us. Very busy location. Not very friendly or helpful. Very disappointed. Check out their other locations in mission valley instead or LA jolla. Staff is much more competent

Had reservations, but still had to wait 20 minutes. We were placed at a table that was falling apart, and tried to get the attention of countless staff. Finally, a server put us at another table, then proceeded to tell us we had to move yet again! Took about 30 minutes to finally get settled in! Server was great, good drinks, good tacos.

We really liked the charred corn and the guacamole with the extra cheese. The tortilla chips and salsa that came to the table first were delicious! The blue corn tortillas for the tacos combined with the charred cheese looked a little odd and did not taste as good as expected. Great service on the patio and a much nicer noise level than inside. The potato flautas were good and very hot - we had to let cool down a bit before eating them.

Waited over 1 hour for tacos. Arrived cold and too salty to eat. Plates and cutlery were dirty. Glasses on tables were all wet and half the empty tables had not been cleaned. For $7-9 per taco, the quality of food and service has to be at a high level. This was probably one of the worst restaurants I’ve been to. Shame, as the one in Santa Clara is a completely different experience. The Manager did take the cost of the food off the menu, which was good.

Our server, Dejia was very pleasant and attentive.
We celebrated our daughter and son-in-law’s rehearsal dinner here and we were here for the 4th and decided to bring our granddaughter for lunch.
We never got our food. After a margarita and chips and salsa, Dejia told us she was very sorry but that there was a bad backup on orders in the kitchen and it would be 45 minutes until we received our order. We declined and left.
Normally, Puesto delivers great service, drinks and savory food. This was very disappointing. Front of the house staffed, back of the house understaffed.
And, to top it off people were still waiting on tables and being seated. Total management failure.

Celebrated my birthday. 1st time visit. Exceptional service from Yaya, our server and Carly, the bar manager. Food was a pleasant surprise because I am Hispanic and I have high expectations. I was not disappointed. Definitely go again.
