Service wasn't anything special. Waitress must have had a shift change during our meal-never saw her after placing our order. Food was decent; warm spinach salad was the highlight. Everything seemed appropriately priced except for the steak-they marked that up considerably and although I ordered it rare, it was medium-rare to medium.
The wine, the food, the service....this place is the most underrated restaurant on yelp Ive ever been to....FANTASTIC. The staff is AMAZING, GO!
We have dined at this restaurant 4 times after attending a play or musical, and each occassion was a pleasurable experience. We had our usual frito misto to start, and spaghetti with meatballs entree. For dessert, we enjoyed (inhale) the tiramisu and a latte for me. They make the best lattes i have ever tasted. I am sure we will go again and again.
My granddaughter’s 18th Birthday and we have a tradition of lunch and shopping in SF. She loved the restaurant and Cole to Union Square for shopping. Perfect and loved the food
Italian food in San Francisco is a multiple choice decision. We really enjoyed or meal and experience. Try it
Pleasantly surprised by this spot which based on its location, i presumed catered more to tourists than locals. Very good fried calamari, (happy hour price is fantastic!) and mussels. Margaritas and mojitos were on point (again, great happy hour prices). One of us had short ribs, which was one of the most tender and well cooked versions I've had in a long while. I didn't try the other dishes my friends had, but everyone was happy. Relaxed atmosphere, and attentive servers. Would recommend for anytime, especially for a pre-theater spot or happy hour.
We both had their thin crust pizza. Crust was similar to flatbread. Noise level low and service was great.
Puccini & Pinetti had a nice atmosphere and even nicer food. Everything was good, presented well, and tasty. For my taste, there was too much dressing on the Caesar salad, but that didn't stop me enjoying it.
Tasty food. Front hostess was kind of impatient and rushing to seat us any where even I indicated at my reservation no high top. We had to wait for a booth
This used to be a very good restaurant, but service has gone downhill. They totally messed up a simple candle in a dessert to celebrate a birthday. I won't be coming back.
Service great. Food delicious.
An adequate but very limited wine list and, oddly enough for an Italian restaurant, almost no Italian wines.
The risotto was excellent.
Four of us dined. The Beginings were very good. Portions were generous. Bruschetti was tasty, the Friotto Misto was nicely fryed and tasty. The Main courses were a mixed bag, the Frutti DiMare and Chicken Marsala were both very ordinary and lacked enough interest in the flavors. The Risotto Primavera on the other hand turned out very nicely. The Creme Brulee was good. We had glasses of red wine, Cabernet I think, and it was a nice vintage.
Hair in multiple dishes. Atrocious
Party of 5. Great atmosphere. Great food. Close to bart and shopping. Great wait staff...we will be back!
No I would no recommend this place. Restaurant is fine, waiter is good, but the food is boring and the price is way too much. The only thing I liked was the house wine and the shaved steak appetizer was only ok. My seafood pasta was boring, not a lot of flavor, the sauce was not special in any way, the pasta was itself taste like store boxed pasta. My husband's spaghetti was boring, he was hungry and he couldn't even finish his food. For $100 bill for two meal, an appetizer and a glass of wine, it shouldn't taste like something from Noodles and Company. I would have gladly gone to Noodles and Company for fast food pasta if I have known this place was going to taste like it. This restaurant was one of the few places that was not busy so we ended up here because we didn't feel like waiting an hour at other places, thinking about it we should of just waited in line at other places or should of gone to a fast food place.
The service was spot on! The wait between the courses was acceptable. The food was delicious and the portions were generous!
Food was just mediocre except for the well made carpaccio. Feels very touristy and attached to hotel Abri. Not impressed by the food or ambience. Music was loud and rock style which is not prone to a nice Italian meal.
Convenient place for lunch on our way to see a matinee musical. The staff was very accommodating to make us an item that is sometimes a special, but not routinely on the menu.
Will be back again!
Loved our server, Amy. Very pleasant and efficient. Can we always be assigned to her table? Food delicious and a good value. Always manage to get us out in time to walk to ACT.
Great place for dinner prior to seeing the play at the Geary theatre. We shared bruschetta, Caesar salad and a pasta dish. We told them we had tickets for a play and we were in and out in 45 minutes.
We enjoy dining here after going to the theatre or when bringing friends to the city. I would appreciate more vegetarian entrees. We really liked the mushroom dish they used to have.
Food was good
Obviously a busy place in a good location for the theater.....not impressed
This is a comfortable restaurant where a group of friends or family can gather and feel at home. Our appetizers--pizza and mussels--were delicious. One person ordered salmon as an entree and it was very good. Four of us ordered steak: two were done as we requested, two were over-cooked but not so much that we would send them back. Service was excellent. The restaurant's house red wine was surprisingly good. Ambience is a bit worn-looking, but comfortable.
As always, awesome experience, food and service. Elvis was and probably been the best server (friendly, funny, professional, not pushy and with a nice pace in checking up on you),
Food was really really good (went there for a business lunch with 4 local people and all were impressed.
Great service, good food. Staff accommodated our group as extra guests joined unexpectedly. Highly recommend
I enjoyed my salmon dish quite a bit. My husband said his pasta dish (frutti di mare) was average.
Great friendly staff .
Correcto. Lo mejor el servicio de Elvis!
The service was extremely good and pleasant. The food was great, the calamari and rock shrimp appetizer were very crisp, grease free and delicious as was the linguine and clams I had. Keep up the good work!
They added a Shrimp app. that was outstanding
Had a round burger patty on a retangular bun with lots of bread at each end. NOT GOOD. But the meat was prepared as asked. Had Garlic Parm fries, asked for extra of each and got it.
Always reliable for a good happy hour as well as great comfort food dinners (Chicken Marsala = yumm!). I have noticed a host/ess tendency to wanna seat you at least attractive table, though, while plenty others still seem available. However, they do not make a fuss once you tell them you'd like to be seated elsewhere, so overall, service is good and free of attitude. P-)
Our go-to before and after shows at Orpheum! Nice walk and easy access to BART at Powell
We were very disappointed. Food was overpriced and mediocre. Will not be back.
This place is a tourist Italian spot. Nothing too special it at least does the food well. There’s better spots in the city for Italian. This one is in a busy intersection and takes forever to get there.
The best spaghetti bolognaise anywhere. One of our favorite places.
Food was just ok. Nothing to write home about.
It was theater night out
