Typical tourist trap place. Nice decor and ambience but the food was subpar. We had a large group and and needed a last minute reservation. The fact that this place could seat us on a Saturday night pretty much says it all.
Food was average. At best.
Food and service was good. Will be back
Great spot to have a dinner. Food tast delicious and greater service.
First off the staff was fabulous and took good care of us. The restaurant is very noisy and I struggled to hear myself talk a few times. Great if you like energetic spots. My main comment is that our food was the saltiest I've ever had at a restaurant. Our throats were desperate for water throughout the experience. We let the staff know as we felt it had to be a mistake. They were kind and comped our dessert which was nice. But my mouth felt dry for another day.
The food was ok not worth the money. Very expensive
We came for the meatball trio that was listed on the menu at the entrance. Waiter told us they don’t offer it any longer and they wouldn’t make it for us. Then take it off the menu!!
We both ordered the Spaghetti and Meatballs. It was good, but not fantastic. at $26 / plate, expected more flavor from the sauce. Was a lot of meat in the meat sauce and several nice sized meat balls. Service was excellent and the location was good.
Price was relative to the area (downtown San Francisco) so about average for the area. Not the best value, but overall about pretty good.
Average in every way. Food, ambiance and service just slightly above above.
I love Puccini & Pinetti. It's my go-to when I'm meeting friends and family visiting SF because it's so close to BART and Union Square hotels and has a great menu.
This most recent visit, though, we were disappointed because the focaccia was stale and I wasn't a big fan of the risotto. It was bland and the scallops were a tiny bit undercooked. Otherwise, still a good spot to meet up.
It's a good place easy localization in downtown, but the cost-benefits no attractive!
Had a nice meal here during our trip to San Francisco. Nice atmosphere and the food was delicious.
Comida normal bien!!! Buen servicio!!!
The food is fabulous. They serve a delicious bread with a bruschetta like sauce with capers that is to die for. Our service was good, fast. The restaurant is very convenient to Union Square, on a corner. Easy to walk to when visiting the city. It's a little noisy, but no more than most restaurants these days. We've been there twice and will surely return when we visit SF the next time.
Stopped in for a light supper of Caprese Salad and a Margarita pizza accompanied with some delicious Coppola's Director's Signature Cabernet Sauvignon wine. The Caprese Salad was utterly delicious while the Margarita Pizza was somewhat underwhelming. Having eaten here on numerous occasions the expectations of the pizza being as wonderful as everything else fell somewhat short. For a thin crust pizza the pizza was somewhat doughy when it should be on the crisp side and although I asked for light sauce the pizza was slathered with marina. Still the service was exceptional although somewhat slow due to a kitchen mishap and the atmosphere as always was warm and friendly.
We both couldn't sleep the next night because of indigestion. Both the pizza and the ribs were tasty but hard to digest. And that's called a lasting impression.
Nice place...I’m sure the rest of the menu is good, but just don’t order the margarita pizza.
Pasta dishes weren’t great - clearly from a box, which doesn’t seem right if you’re paying $25+ for pasta. Non-pasta dishes were all very good. Servers were all very nice.
When I booked the reservation I asked for regular seating and not the bar seating. Yet they put us at the bar without asking.
As always, the service was friendly, polite, prompt, professional and first rate. Food is served warm and ready to eat with quality fresh ingredients deliciously prepared.
I was hoping for more atmosphere but forget that. The food was fine. If they would spif up the decor and improve the service it would be helpful....it seems tired. I will not return.
It is a kids friendly, good restaurant! The rib is highly recommended! Our servant is very friendly, and keep coming to our table to check if we need anything! The overall experience is good!
Every dish that we ordered was excellent. The carpaccio was tender and full of flavor, even the greens served with it were fresh and delicious. The warm spinach salad was perfectly made and the serving was large and could definitely be shared. My entree, spaghetti and meatballs was incredible, one of the best meat sauces I have ever had. I would highly recommend Puccini. The restaurant itself is trendy and a little loud, not really a romantic spot, more of a "fun" place.
The food and service we're excellent. We enjoyed our dinner.
We've eaten here many times. Service was slow and fragmented. Waiter went on break no one gave this information so we were on our own for about 30 minutes, until I spoke up. Food is consistently good.
Paco was great at recommendations and got everything to order! We have allergies so it was comforting to know he understood those and exceeded expectations in serving us. Highlights: Eggplant Parmesan (best we've EVER had!) Scallops Risotto, Scotch flight, Warm Spinach Salad, and Affogato dessert! Wowza!
Our 2nd year anniversary.
Starters were very good, main courses ok. Service was ok, but could do better.
Very overpriced for the quality and service. I would not recommend
great happy hour and amazing food!!! Been coming here for more than 10 years, and it's still just as good!
As ALWAYS... a wonderful experience;-)
Very good food and service! It is a very loud atmosphere...but worth the visit.
Great restaurant. I ate from the Gluten-Free menu and had fabulous chicken marsala and the lava cake. There were lots of different types of options. My colleagues ate from the regular menu and they were both very pleased with their food; it also looked fabulous. We also shared the caprese starter. I would recommend for all.
This was our first visit to Puccini and Pinetti and we were impressed. The only negative we experienced was a strong smell of polish or cleaning product upon entering. The swell dissipated over time or we became nose blind to it. The food was amazing and Randy offered outstanding service.
Been going for years. Always great food, service and flexibility for special requests!
Quality of food was not good but what you’d expect from a restaurant catering to the tourist crowd. I was just hoping for more based on good reviews on opentable
Traveling on vacation, we are always looking for unique dining experiences. We were surprised by the lack of food options for an Italian restaurant. I had the halibut special which was very tasty. My daughter had the spaghetti and had to ask for extra sauce as it was a tad dry. The only option my husband & son found was pizza, which was good. Overall it was OK.
Good appetizers, frito misto. My wife had the eggplant dish and it was very good. Service for us that day was friendly but very slow. Took a while to get drinks, and had to ask for the check to be able to make an 8:00pm show when we arrived early for our 6:00pm reservation.
Excellent food fantastic service and extremely friendly staff!! Would highly recommend this restaurant!
The food and service were good but their payment system was down. After 15 min of waiting to pay the check we ended up using cash. Fortunately we had enough. Disappointing that the manager didn’t at least offer a discount do to their issue.
