Theater with grandchildren
Very good food in a nice setting, convenient to Union Square, and both Warfield and Golden Gate theaters.
We sat near the door in a booth which is meh. But it wasn't awful. The service was attentive (asked about our showtime and helped keep us on schedule). We had the calamari, the short rib dinner, the spaghetti and meatballs and a custom pizza. All were good and comfort dishes on a blustery evening. The servings were good sized and we all walked away full and content!
Food was ok but the waiter did not remember our orders and forgot my wine altogether.
We had a very good meal and the waiter was very cordial and friendly. His name was Paco. We would definitely return.
The waiter, Paco, was incredible and the food was delicious. Great find.
The soup was to watery.
Great location if you are headed out to see a play at Golden Gate Theater.
The food was great, one of the best pasta we’ve had in a while. Really recommend their Penne Carbonara! We ordered salads and they were also great. Both starters and entrees are good size, not too big, not too little. Service was friendly and helpful.
Seated right away. Simple real entrees. Tiramisu best we've had!
The service was OK but very disorganized. The food was awful. The Bruschette was made with stewed (canned) tomatoes and goat cheese........yuck. Goat cheese? Seriously? The Caesar salad dressing tasted like it came out of a bottle. Very bland. We didn't order dinner but left instead to find some thing eatable some place else.
Food was good. It was noisy and difficult to talk to the others at our table.
Service was excellent. Most of the food we ordered was good other than the chicken on the fettuccine alfredo's were a bit overcooked. Other big thing why we like to go her is the gluten free options. This night, all but one or two entrees and most of the apps were or could be adapted to GF and they know to use new pans/different pasta water for GF requests.
One other thing I really object to is the mandatory gratuity (5+), and on top of it being required, it was 20%, 22% if you split checks. I always want the option to tip based on service and in most cases, i tip double tax for good service and more if the service was excellent. So keep this in mind if you end up coming with a larger party.
Food was good and the location was great. Great venue! I would recommend this restaurant.
Service was slow and food was fair...
Gluten Free meals were very bland and without flavour
Waiter was great. Needed to get to a show and got meal quickly.
Overpriced and not very authentic Italian in San Francisco. Never had fried gnocchi before (and it was burnt!).
Staff was friendly and efficient however.
Reserved a table for NYE. Website said there was a NYE special menu, but was given regular menu? Service was good. Loud restaurant-hard to have a romantic dinner. Food was good, definitely not great. Really good gelato.
Food was good, but we didnt get bread or water. Every other table around us did.
Wonderful appetizer, the bruschetta was amazing!
Christmas eve
Great food and Amy was a wonderful server!
First class all the way
Our waiter was very attentive and helpful in describing dishes. We both loved our pasta and the bruschetta was so very good.
Came here for a family date night. Service was prompt and very good. The food was ok. For some dishes it was honestly a little bland, but not bad. Definitely opt in for the fresh ground pepper. Overall not a bad place if you’re looking for somewhere close to the Curran Theatre.
Dinner before The Nutcracker. Friendly service, and they accommodated special requests for vegan dishes. Great location close to Union Square. Will definitely return.
Good food; nice offer available with free bruschetta with ticket from show. Great union Square / theater option. Amy B was our server who is great!
Wonderful as always! Gnocchi was particularly good.
Perfect romantic dinner before a show at the Golden Gate Theater. My recommendation: Creme Brulee!
Great food and service
This restaurant is centrall locacted in Union Square. They have a great happy hour and very cordial servers. If you enjoy meat dishes, you have t try the short ribs. They are delicious. I look forward to my next visit to Puccini to get another shot at the ribs.
The food came very late. We almost missed the show at the Golden Gate Theater. Otherwise, it was a nice place to meet before a show Downtown.
Excellent service.
I love this restaurant! It is my go to after the theatre. Their bruschetta is amazing and their risotto is the best in town!
Excellent service, wait staff were attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and made good recommendations. Cocktails were inventive and well prepared. Food was delicious and plating was impeccable.
Usually a hit. Terrible service today, server was overwhelmed and had too many tables. No manager around in sight to help. Host kept walking around in circles with a clipboard writing things down when we clearly needed things. Bussers were cleaning tables that didnt need cleaning seeing as there were 2 or 3 clean tables near by. They could have been putting priority on helping server.
Bread was off today really thick and flavorless.
Ordered a pumpkin spice martini and they put banana in it for some reason. Server was no where to be found to tell.
Usually a hit. Great kitchen great ambience shame service had to be terrible on a day i bring friends.
Probably won't be back for awhile.
The food was delicious, but it was expensive and small portions! Our service wasn’t great. we never did get water refills, even though they sat empty for the last half of our meal. The food was excellent, but the value was not great!
Great food. Very inexperienced waiter.
