The service was spot on! The wait between the courses was acceptable. The food was delicious and the portions were generous!
Food was just mediocre except for the well made carpaccio. Feels very touristy and attached to hotel Abri. Not impressed by the food or ambience. Music was loud and rock style which is not prone to a nice Italian meal.
Convenient place for lunch on our way to see a matinee musical. The staff was very accommodating to make us an item that is sometimes a special, but not routinely on the menu.
Will be back again!
Loved our server, Amy. Very pleasant and efficient. Can we always be assigned to her table? Food delicious and a good value. Always manage to get us out in time to walk to ACT.
Great place for dinner prior to seeing the play at the Geary theatre. We shared bruschetta, Caesar salad and a pasta dish. We told them we had tickets for a play and we were in and out in 45 minutes.
We enjoy dining here after going to the theatre or when bringing friends to the city. I would appreciate more vegetarian entrees. We really liked the mushroom dish they used to have.
Food was good
Obviously a busy place in a good location for the theater.....not impressed
This is a comfortable restaurant where a group of friends or family can gather and feel at home. Our appetizers--pizza and mussels--were delicious. One person ordered salmon as an entree and it was very good. Four of us ordered steak: two were done as we requested, two were over-cooked but not so much that we would send them back. Service was excellent. The restaurant's house red wine was surprisingly good. Ambience is a bit worn-looking, but comfortable.
As always, awesome experience, food and service. Elvis was and probably been the best server (friendly, funny, professional, not pushy and with a nice pace in checking up on you),
Food was really really good (went there for a business lunch with 4 local people and all were impressed.
Great service, good food. Staff accommodated our group as extra guests joined unexpectedly. Highly recommend
I enjoyed my salmon dish quite a bit. My husband said his pasta dish (frutti di mare) was average.
Great friendly staff .
Correcto. Lo mejor el servicio de Elvis!
The service was extremely good and pleasant. The food was great, the calamari and rock shrimp appetizer were very crisp, grease free and delicious as was the linguine and clams I had. Keep up the good work!
They added a Shrimp app. that was outstanding
Had a round burger patty on a retangular bun with lots of bread at each end. NOT GOOD. But the meat was prepared as asked. Had Garlic Parm fries, asked for extra of each and got it.
Always reliable for a good happy hour as well as great comfort food dinners (Chicken Marsala = yumm!). I have noticed a host/ess tendency to wanna seat you at least attractive table, though, while plenty others still seem available. However, they do not make a fuss once you tell them you'd like to be seated elsewhere, so overall, service is good and free of attitude. P-)
Our go-to before and after shows at Orpheum! Nice walk and easy access to BART at Powell
We were very disappointed. Food was overpriced and mediocre. Will not be back.
This place is a tourist Italian spot. Nothing too special it at least does the food well. There’s better spots in the city for Italian. This one is in a busy intersection and takes forever to get there.
The best spaghetti bolognaise anywhere. One of our favorite places.
Food was just ok. Nothing to write home about.
It was theater night out
Great restaurant, great food, great service! A must when your in San Francisco. I will be back!
Food over-priced so I wouldn’t go again. Waiter didn’t bring bread until asked. Cold temp in restaurant/dining area.
Puccini and Pinetti is a good pre-theater spot, since the food is generally good and the service efficient. Alas, my favorite dish there is only seasonal, the Tuscan Lasagna. There is usually at least one fish dish on the menu.
Had a lovely birthday celebration! Food was excellent and service was above and beyond expectations!
I took a customer to lunch here at 1:15pm on a Friday, and the place was nearly empty. The waitperson was friendly and upbeat. We were served bread with bruschetta and my guest nearly broke his tooth when he bit into a piece of olive pit. We split a spinach salad which was overdressed to the point of being soggy. Each of us ordered the risotto with rock shrimp and while the shrimp had good flavor, overall the risotto was too salty. A shared dessert of crème brulee was good and we both enjoyed the coffee.
With the noise level just tolerable to have a conversation, we enjoyed the happy hour specials and very quick service for our meals. We were able to get tho our 730 curtain without much trouble as well. Thank you
Pre Theatre dining
A nice informal air, but almost too informal for the price point of the food (think Denny's for the décor). Food was good and service was very good (attentive but not too engaging). We ate here before seeing a show at Golden Gate Theatre; for that it was just right.
We celebrate Birthday dinners amongst four lady Friends from work. Our second visit to Puccini’s was the last day of Restaurant Week when’re there was a Pre fixe menu.
We all opted for the Short Ribs with seasonal salad and Tiramisu for dessert all for 40.00 each. Bam! It was fantastic!
The short ribs were oh so tender atop smooth mashed potatoes and gravy with baby carrots and turnips.
From the warm salad to dessert and attentive service makes this establishment a must try for anyone.
It will definitely be a belly and tastebud pleaser for sure!
They did a great job accommodating our large party - both from the flexible seating arrangements to getting the food out quickly. It's clear they have a customer focused approach to staffing and managing complex large groups. It was a tad noisy for conversation but hey, it was a large group. Thanks to all the staff for making our dinner a great event.
Made a reservation before going to the theater and had excellent food and service. I ordered off the restaurant week menu which ended up being a good deal for $40; Caesar salad which was good, short ribs which was excellent/melt in your mouth tender and the tiramisu, probably the best I've had in a long time. Wife had the rock shrimp risotto and choc truffle dessert which basically was a thick hot soufflé. Both were excellent. Will definitely come back.
This restaurant is a hidden gem in a very busy area. With excellent food and excellent service, it is the perfect place for a relaxing lunch before a show.
The penne was delicious. It was expensive, but everything was very good.
Always good, great location and service
This is NOT a three or four star restaurant. It’s the place you go when there aren’t options. I hope open table folks will be more thoughtful in who they give a high star rating. Fish was over cooked and pasta was a small portion. Servers are working it more like a cafeteria than a restaurant. I suppose they are getting an out of town crowd attending theater events but people please , SF is a foodie heaven so let’s make sure we are recommending those that deserve praise.
Close to the Golden Gate Theater, open through the afternoon to accommodate a matinee. Servers are very friendly and helpful and the food is very good with reasonable prices.
The saffron risotto with rock shrimp was excellent, also the salmon.
