Intimate atmosphere (like in Italy!) The staff navigates their way around close quarters very efficiently. The food was delicious and a good value! Would definitely return! I have celiac and had no problems - they could easily accommodate my needs.
Food is excellent & our server was attentive & efficient.
My go to restaurant when I’m in San Francisco. Love the food!
One of our favorite casual spots in the City. Great food, nice staff. Great location near Union Square and theater district.
Food was delicious and the service was really great.
Food was mixed. My dining partner said the Alfredo was the best he’d had. My spaghetti with Bolognese was not. Service was exceptional. Expensive, like everything in San Francisco.
My kid got to make his own pizza. Brought him all the fixings, sauce and dough right to the table. Wish we lived closer to go back more often!
The bruschetta was different but very good, especially with the goat cheese. The grilled salmon was excellent. The variety of seating i.e. booths, regular tables and high tops makes for a lovely atmosphere. Service was attentive, but not overpowering. Food came quickly. Location is great in terms of walking from hotels and then to theaters.
My server was slightly clueless but attentive. The food could have been good, but it was *way* over salted.
Delicious food. Only one server was available so service was a bit slow. However, this was an unusual situation. Wood definitely return again!
Best Bruschetta-Creation we‘ve ever eat - try and love it!Pasta also deleciuos, top!
This was our worst experiences at Puccini’s. We had requested standard seating and requested wait staff by name. The hostess apparently did not understand our reservation request and attempted to seat us at a high table, then a table at the entrance and finally at a table that was wedged into a corner and left me sitting in the aisle.
After assuring us that our requested waiter was there. After being seat, were told the requested waiter was not working. This left us with the impression the hostess did not understand English.
Normally, with the menus is an access code for the restrooms. None was provided and we had to ask when the need arose.
Our waiter was not very attentive or informative on the specials. We found ourselves waiting for drinks, waiting for plates to be cleared, waiting for the check.
Not the level of service we have come to expect. The food was excellent, though..
Service was warm and efficient, the bruschetta excellent, spaghetti and meatballs home-cooked deliciousness. Husband had minestrone and Caesar salad, both above average. Also half-off bottles of several wines. Definitely will be back, especially before or after a show at Golden Gate theater.
Delicious food, excellent friendly service - couldn't ask for more.
Good food, great service. We were there early so it was quiet enough to have a conversation
Amazing food quick service friendly waiting staff highly recommend
First time. A couple had the special - scallops wrapped in bacon. Loved it. The linguine with clams was also excellent. Will go again!
We had an excellent dinner at Puccini & Pinetti. My husband and I split an order of seasonal green salad, pasta, and an order of short ribs. Everything was delicious. The wait staff came around regularly to pour wine and refill the waters. Nice ambiance. We come here often and will continue to do so.
Victor provided excellent service nice romantic table by the window.
The chicken was dry and rubbery, like it was microwaved.
I enjoyed my dinner. The spaghetti and meatballs were quite tasty. The service was great.
Typical tourist trap place. Nice decor and ambience but the food was subpar. We had a large group and and needed a last minute reservation. The fact that this place could seat us on a Saturday night pretty much says it all.
Food was average. At best.
Food and service was good. Will be back
Great spot to have a dinner. Food tast delicious and greater service.
First off the staff was fabulous and took good care of us. The restaurant is very noisy and I struggled to hear myself talk a few times. Great if you like energetic spots. My main comment is that our food was the saltiest I've ever had at a restaurant. Our throats were desperate for water throughout the experience. We let the staff know as we felt it had to be a mistake. They were kind and comped our dessert which was nice. But my mouth felt dry for another day.
The food was ok not worth the money. Very expensive
We came for the meatball trio that was listed on the menu at the entrance. Waiter told us they don’t offer it any longer and they wouldn’t make it for us. Then take it off the menu!!
We both ordered the Spaghetti and Meatballs. It was good, but not fantastic. at $26 / plate, expected more flavor from the sauce. Was a lot of meat in the meat sauce and several nice sized meat balls. Service was excellent and the location was good.
Price was relative to the area (downtown San Francisco) so about average for the area. Not the best value, but overall about pretty good.
Average in every way. Food, ambiance and service just slightly above above.
I love Puccini & Pinetti. It's my go-to when I'm meeting friends and family visiting SF because it's so close to BART and Union Square hotels and has a great menu.
This most recent visit, though, we were disappointed because the focaccia was stale and I wasn't a big fan of the risotto. It was bland and the scallops were a tiny bit undercooked. Otherwise, still a good spot to meet up.
It's a good place easy localization in downtown, but the cost-benefits no attractive!
Had a nice meal here during our trip to San Francisco. Nice atmosphere and the food was delicious.
Comida normal bien!!! Buen servicio!!!
The food is fabulous. They serve a delicious bread with a bruschetta like sauce with capers that is to die for. Our service was good, fast. The restaurant is very convenient to Union Square, on a corner. Easy to walk to when visiting the city. It's a little noisy, but no more than most restaurants these days. We've been there twice and will surely return when we visit SF the next time.
Stopped in for a light supper of Caprese Salad and a Margarita pizza accompanied with some delicious Coppola's Director's Signature Cabernet Sauvignon wine. The Caprese Salad was utterly delicious while the Margarita Pizza was somewhat underwhelming. Having eaten here on numerous occasions the expectations of the pizza being as wonderful as everything else fell somewhat short. For a thin crust pizza the pizza was somewhat doughy when it should be on the crisp side and although I asked for light sauce the pizza was slathered with marina. Still the service was exceptional although somewhat slow due to a kitchen mishap and the atmosphere as always was warm and friendly.
We both couldn't sleep the next night because of indigestion. Both the pizza and the ribs were tasty but hard to digest. And that's called a lasting impression.
Nice place...I’m sure the rest of the menu is good, but just don’t order the margarita pizza.
Pasta dishes weren’t great - clearly from a box, which doesn’t seem right if you’re paying $25+ for pasta. Non-pasta dishes were all very good. Servers were all very nice.
When I booked the reservation I asked for regular seating and not the bar seating. Yet they put us at the bar without asking.
