Public Wine Bar
They closed due to water damage but never let me know so I showed up with an out of town guest only to find the door locked. Thankfully MATCH down the street had room at the bar. Sorry about the water damage but that shouldn’t prevent you from reaching out to those with reservations!
What a gem in SoNo! Food presentation beautiful and delicious. And the cocktails were amazing! Very friendly staff. We will be back and soon!
Unfortunately, the service was quite poor, the food took an extremely long time to come out (orders were wrong as well), and the bill had extra charges on it so we could have overpaid quite significantly if we hadn't carefully reviewed it. I so wanted to enjoy the experience, but it ended up being pretty stressful.
Great brunch with friends!
Very attentive service!
We’ll be back!
Four of us ate there for the first time. Our server was friendly and attentive enough. Everyone really enjoyed their meals (I had house salad and grilled chicken; others the enjoyed the meatball app, seafood risotto - rated excellent, and shredded brussel sprout salad.) The wine list was okay, but a bit small for a wine bar, IMO. It took a long time for our food to come out - I don't know if that's the norm. I would like to suggest they serve bread before the meal - especially if it takes a long time to get the entrees out.
Nice place, music was a bit loud & asked them to lower
Great experience! DJ & live Music 🎵
Went down Sunday evening.
They were packed!
Spanish themed restaurant
Great cocktails 🍹 Great service (Xavier our waiter!)
Lamb Lollipops, Steak Tartare, & Grilled Calamari.
Great taste, Excellent presentation- Hats off to the Chef!
Love their menu! So many options!
It was good to see this restaurant almost back to capacity after Covid. The service was attentive as usual, the food was well prepared and served hot. The only change was that their happy hour was changed from 5-8pm to 3:30-6:30pm. Same number of hours, but less convenient.
Terrible service experience. They should not have accepted our reservation if they couldn’t handle the amount of people that day. 2.5 hour brunch. It took 50 minutes to place our food order. We would have had more than two drinks if they came out to check on us once in a while. Drinks were wrong. We were very disappointed.
Host accidentally sat us at the wrong table so we had to give up our table inside to accommodate the other party who reserved it and then sit outside where we were forgotten all night. We had to go inside twice to get someone’s attention. Our rez was 7:15 and we did not have appetizers on the table until 8:30. They are clearly understaffed, which is not the host nor the waiters’ fault. Management - you need to hire more employees! Not fair to your workers and certainly not fair to your guests. Also, your food is not worth the price. Very under-seasoned.
Enjoy coming here anytime I’m in Norwalk. Great atmosphere and food.
Great food and service. Music a little too loud/techno but will continue to go because the food was delicious and service great.
Very enjoyable brunch with friends. The waiter was friendly and attentive. We will be back!
Great tapas. But music choice was too techno and too loud. I think they may have turned it down later; but my wife was considering leaving due to it as soon as we got there. The food was delicious.
Great wine selection and good food. Lamb was especially delicious.
Took very long time to receive our food. Dinner was not as expected. Steak was very over cooked. Went there for my birthday, but I was Very disappointed.
I tried to pick every single one of those categories above because it’s great for every day dining it’s great for special occasions it’s great for a date I love the music the food is consistently delicious and the service is like a fine restaurant except they make you feel like your family and you’re always welcome it’s the best
Wonderful! Plexi-glass between the tables, COVID safety precautions were followed. Food and service were great!
A new favorite for us!
Meal and Service was great will definitely be back again. Also great wine selection and my dad said the bourbon selection was great too.
Spectacular place great food and even better service
We went for lunch. I understand we’re in the middle of a pandemic, but there was only one person there to seat people, wait tables and tend the bar. He was very polite and conscientious, but because he was alone, the service was painfully so low. Everything else, including the food and ambience were good. Post pandemic, I’m sure the service will return to normal. I would still recommend the restaurant. .
Great food, service, menu, and atmosphere. Food took a little longer than anticipated but was completely worth it. Would definitely go back and recommend to friends.
It was cozy and very well done. We will definitely come back to this restaurant.
Absolutely love Public Wine Bar. It is our go to in Sono for a wonderful meal and great experience. Warm and friendly, lovely ambience....and the best steak tartare you will ever taste!!
We loved the food and the staff and owner was very friendly.
Wonderful staff, food amazing! We will be back! Risotto cake with truffled brussel sprouts, wild boar ragu with pappadelle and broccali rabe were delicious!
Burrata was served on half a hamburger bun, tuna tartar was purple and fishy, and the special aged porterhouse smelled and tasted weird. Willing to give it another try since we loved it the first time, but a disappointment this time around.
Great food and atmosphere. Service was on it and we will be back
It was our first time there and we had a wonderful time! Great staff, delicious food and amazing cocktails!!! We will be back!
This was our first return after the start of Covid and we were pleased to see (& taste) Public Wine Bar again! Although there were only a few diners when we were there, the food was still delicious and the service was attentive. They installed plexiglass dividers for socially distant dining and they were effective and unobtrusive. Their famous ‘happy hour’ is due to resume this week and this will make this good dining spot ever better!
Food was excellent, in service was even better👍🏽
We sat outside on the patio. Our server was very attentive and nice; took good care of us. Tables were spaced out and everyone working was wearing a mask; they followed covid protocols. Food is delicious! We had arancini, calamari and a side of Brussel sprouts; generous amounts. We were there for a few hours since our friend joined halfway through and we never felt rushed. Would definitely come back!
Great food, great service ! Seafood was great. Sat outside
Awful. Skip it. Food took hours and was terrible. Really low quality place - I’m actually embarrassed I picked it for our group of 4.
So relaxed with great service and good food.
The food was great once again! And the Manny is great!
GREAT CONSISTENT MENU ALWAYS A PLEASURE GOOD ATMOSPHERE
Manny way great! And so was the food!
I really enjoyed my self and can’t wait to go back.
Great service, did not feel rushed, everyone spaced out appropriately.
Everything was great. Don’t think the pisco sour was made correctly but replaced it with a margarita which was very yummy. It was our servers first day but he was awesome! Will totally come back
