Located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, Public School is a fun, school-themed gastropub that features a wide selection of local craft beers, classic drafts, and craft cocktails. PS delivers "An Education in the Art of Food & Beer." We offer a chef-driven menu that is made from scratch using only the freshest quality ingredients. We booked at 8.15PM then when we arrived they told us that last call to order was 8.30PM and we order really quick. Then by 9.00PM they were already pushing us to finish and they bring the dessert when we still were eating the main course. They pushed us to finish and leave. We didn't like this kind of service.

This was unfortunately one of the worst experiences at a restaurant. It took 45 minutes to put in a drink order with the manager who was nice. Had to repeatedly get up to locate a server, manager, etc. The food was just okay. Fish tacos were bland and tortillas cold, they had no Diet Coke and no ice tea. Gave us free drinks but only 1 of 4 ended up getting a drink. Gave us 20% off the bill which was nice. I won’t go back to this restaurant anytime soon.

It was a lovely birthday happy hour - it's indoor, and parking is a bit of an issue if you don't know there is no parking in the building. But go around the corner, and there are a few cheap(er) pay-per-hour lots on the left. Service was good, food was good. The only unfortunate part was that a few of us caught a virus because it was indoors and likely someone from our own happy hour party. Still good times. Just be aware that it is indoor with no outdoor patio.

This is a very generic American fare restaurant. It is nothing special at all. The equivalent to an Applebee's, Chili's or something along those lines. Do not recommend if you're looking for something original and special.

Server we had is honestly what made it a good time. So props to him, I wish I recalled his name. (Tatted, had a hat on, glasses and I believe no hair (not to be rude, just want to make sure he gets recognized if you guys read this)). Place seems like a nice set up as well. Literally the first place I’ve been to in LA and it was a very positive experience

Very good. However, I tried to park in the Pegasus building, as recommended on the website, but all of the parking entrances were closed and there was no valet. I spent more than 30 minutes trying to park. I asked directions at several other parking garages close by, and they all said a valet was supposed to be out front. But none was there. I finally parked over by the central library, and walked over. So, even though I arrived just after 11 AM for my 11:30 lunch meeting, I didn’t arrive until 11:45. Public School should make sure that the Pegasus parking valet is actually there, especially if this is a business arrangement between the restaurant and the building.

Got charged for truffle fries when I received plain regular fries. Cannot currently eat tomato so asked for no tomato on my burger, no tomato jam or ketchup. Received ketchup for the plain fries. Server seemed slightly distracted and took a really long time to bring the check when asked.

Great ambience and the food was good. The service was courteous, but slow. It's a good thing there are games to play. It kept my family busy while we waited, but I did get a headache waiting for our meal due to hypoglycemia.

Inviting and accommodating. Great vibe to just grab drinks and finger good after work or spend some time with friends. Appetizers were flavorful, especially the fried cauliflower. Main entrée, Coconut chicken curry was on point with the flavorful spices. Overall great time.

Felt like a restaurant feeling affects of Covid still. Hostess was also waitress. She was very nice. They were out of a lot of items. I had not been to LA restaurant for awhile and forgot still get vaccination verification request. Realize they are required but process stupid. Ask for data but don’t even look at it.

The parking is a major issue. Parking structure charged me $12.50 for 90 minutes of parking. We ordered Spicy Sprouts (wasn't as good), The cauliflower wasn't that good either. Truffle Garlic fries were really good, And the desert which was recommended by the waiter wasn't that good. I loved the fresh draft beer.

Reservations but had to wait, looked like 3 wait staff for entire restaurant. Service was so slow, food came out at different times. Sweet Potato fries were ok and very small amount, waiter forgot ranch and drink twice. Pizza ok, had tons of flour on the bottom. So sorry to give a bad review but had to. Personally I dont think this place will last. Cute concept though.

I feel Bad riding this review because I feel like many of our issues were due to short staffing. The staff that helped us were excellent and doing their best. We had issues with ordering cocktails and them not coming until after the appetizers, when we had ordered the cocktails 15 minutes prior to ordering the appetizers. And then when dinner came the tuna dinner was in edible. However the manager or maybe it was a server quickly asked if there was something else we would like to eat and she made sure to get the meal out quickly. The food was OK but not really that great

We had a great meal in a nice and fun atmosphere. Celebrated a birthday and were disappointed that there wasn't a dessert to celebrate along with us. Everything else was great though.
