Food was raw and now sick.
Not the worst not the best.. service took forever.
Food was middle of the road. Greeter was busy on his cell phone and a little abrupt. Had to ask for drink refills. Not the greatest.
Great spot to eat early dinner before going to the theater. Not too expensive and our server got us out in plenty of time to catch the mall shuttle to Buell theater.
I would definitely visit again! Food was great and staff was super friendly and easy to talk to.
We've been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile, and it was a good time, not bad nor great. The server was pretty good, the food wasn't bad, but the music was just so loud. I had to ask the hostess to turn it down and even after it was lowered, it was still above normal from what I was used to at a restaurant. I'd definitely recommend this place for group get togethers, but not for those that want to sit, eat, and have a conversation.
Our food seemed to be good quality if it had been served when cooked. Unfortunately, we watched it sit under the warming light for about 10-15 minutes before it made it to our table so it was cold and difficult to really judge.
Noisy. Slow service. Food was ok but nothing spectacular for the price.
We needed somewhere to grab a bite before going to see Michelle Obama at the Pepsi Center. Public School 303 was one of the only places nearby that stilled showed reservations available at the time we wanted.
When we got there, we were seated at a table in the bar area despite having a reservation, which normally I wouldn’t have minded except that there were multiple holiday parties going on. The bar was, in fact, so crowded that randoms were leaning on our table, putting their drinks down and using our menus without acknowledging our presence. It was bad.
We made sure to order drinks and food right away knowing it was crowded and would take some time. The server knew we were heading to an event and so had some time constraints (we gave ourselves an hour and a half, which should have been enough).
My half of the order took over an hour. My friend received hers and ended up sharing it with me because we were afraid I wouldn’t get a chance to eat. By the time my food finally came I had seven minutes to eat before we had to leave.
I fully understand that the food taking so long was likely the kitchen’s fault and not our server, but given the crowds, the people helping themselves to our table and the lateness of the food, I felt she should have comped one of our meals or at a minimum bought us a round. She did neither. Also, at some point they should have stopped accepting reservations on Open Table.
I accept that I should have made reservations somewhere a week out; lesson learned. But there were enough issues that I won’t be going back.
Food was amazing, unfortunately we made a reservation and still waited “40 minutes to be seated. The service was extremely slow.
Good experience overall, place was packed so as expected things took a little longer. Food wise - Loved the buffalo cauliflower, the Fish N Chips needs some work. Was tasty but came to the table cold.
Great happy hour (which they call recess which is cute)! Fun food options and good draft beers available.
Service was prompt and friendly. The food was a bit bland though - we ordered a bbq chicken salad and a chicken burger. We asked to be seated in a quieter area and it was quieter than the main part of the dining area but the noise level overall made conversation more difficult as the dinner crowd filled in.
Great food and service. Would go again!!
Took a bunch of coworkers who were in town for training to Public School. I hadn't been there in a while myself, but I figured it would be a good spot for a team dinner. Our server (whose name I didn't catch) was awesome. I will definitely be back.
Fun cool place. Food is good and they have a nice happy hour they call recess. Music can be too loud at times and the bright lights can be intense. Dim a little, mood lighting, will ya?
Great food. We had the salmon & poke. Way too loud for business lunch.
Had a great first visit to Public School! While I chose it mainly due to the location of my hotel, I'm glad I did. The restaurant has a great vibe, plenty of seating and a great bar. I had a good lunch with my realtor and would recommend this restaurant for a business lunch or after work drinks. Good fun vibe with nice and thoughtful staff. Check out Public School... it's worth funding!
Really cool decor. Good service. The host acted like he was stoned. Wandered around aimlessly most of the night. I gad to tell him to make down my OpenTable reservation so that I’d get the points. He seemed bewildered by the request. Fun menu and good time otherwise
Really horrible service. Food presentation was absolutely beautiful but none of our meals were warm. It took 15+ minutes to get our drinks. Food was slow to come out and our dishes didn’t get picked up until the check came. Probably won’t be back.
The beer was good and the food wasn't bad either. The only downside for me personally was the noise level. It was a struggle to have a conversation in the place. It was a very happening place to be when we went over the weekend. Young crowd ready for drinks and darts.
We had a business dinner at Public School. The servers were great, the food was amazing, the drinks were flowing and we got no work done. But hey! That's ok!
Excellent food, I was very happy and I'm about to go into a food coma
Overall not very impressed with the restaurant. Food was good but nothing special, especially for the area that it is in. The restaurant is very themed, almost to a cheesy point though. It was almost completely empty on a Saturday night when we went. That wasnt very reassuring
Food was fantastic! We just went for burgers, but these burgers impressed us! So delicious! This will be a regular for us now.
We’ve been to Public School 303 several times now and every time the food is just as delicious as the last. The atmosphere is nice and open with lots of natural light, and there are a lot of big tables to accomodate large groups if need be. We’ll definitely keep going back!
The beet and goat cheese salad is literally the best I've ever had. I am obsessed!
My husband and I met another couple here for dinner on a hot summer Thursday night. We chose it because of its proximity to Union Station and the diverse food and drink menu. We sat on the patio - the ambiance could be improved with more umbrellas (ours didn't have one) and maybe some planters. We felt a little hot and exposed, but preferred outside to the noisier interior. We arrived at 6:30pm in time for happy hour which is pretty lack luster - no deals on rotating beer or specialty cocktails. We ordered the flatbread and meatballs for appetizers - both tasty. I had the Thai shrimp salad for dinner which was OK - not a lot of flavor and an odd grouping of veggies such as cherry tomatoes and radicchio which I don't tend to associate with Thai. My husband tried the PB&J burger which he really enjoyed. Overall, the best part of our evening was Kim, our server, who was great (and it was only her 2nd day!). Would I recommend or go back? Probably not, as there are too many other places to try.
The air conditioning was broken so it was very hot which made a little bit difficult to enjoy.
Great food and awesome location. Mediocre service at best.
Horrible service. We waited an hour and a half for our food. Not worth the wait.
Fan of the parent company's Daily Grill brand from countless visits in LA so it was with good anticipation that we came here for a lighter Sunday meal. Extremely quiet at first, with limited service staff too, but no doubt that was an exception. I imagine weekday lunches and happy hour ("recess") are hopping. They deserve to be based on the food. Great presentation, quality and value-for-money makes this a keeper.
Nice casual place and menu. The small plates are fantastic and i would recommend the crispy chicken sandwich
Took a party of 4 fifteen minutes to get drinks and over an hour for our fold. It was a Friday and a big concert was
We were there about 2pm on a Tuesday. The place was 3/4 empty. Took forever to get our food, and the overall service level was terrible. Had to ask twice for sugar for my tea and twice for salt and pepper, forever for the check. There are so many good options in the immediate area, I doubt if we go back.
This place was so much fun! Food was delicious and creative. Get the PB&J burger.... you WON'T be disappointed!
I really liked the PB&J Burger. The chorizo Mac and cheese was delicious also.
We celebrated my first Mother’s Day at Public School and had a great time! The waitstaff were all super attentive and friendly. The food was great!! I had the Benedict pizza, which was amazing. My husband enjoyed the chicken and waffles. Fun ambiance, interesting menu, and cool location. We will definitely be back!
