Public School - Culver City
Always great food and ambiance. Had my standard salmon with asparagus and wasn’t disappointed! My go-to restaurant for Culver City business lunches.
Been here several times, but Monday past, “problems with deliveries “ out of 1/2 the items on the menu, all the taps for the draft beer had warm beer, several drink specials also unavailable...disappointing experience...
Very friendly staff and really good food for a reasonable price.
It’s really loud in there. Servers are running the whole time. Food was delicious.
Very slow and i attentive service.
I love Public School. The food is amaaaazing (PB&J burger is so surprisingly delicious and I’m addicted). The employees are always great - not overly cheerful like in a corporate restaurant, which I appreciate. Highly recommend.
Way way way way too loud, and overall not a very comfortable place to have a casual social conversation... which is why I was there that night. Just a bit too crowded.... but good food!
Unique dining experience
Awesome place with great mimosas!
I had another great visit to Public Seat where the food was good and the service was great!
We had a mini-reunion with long-time friends, some of whom had come into town from the East Coast. I chose Public School 310 because of its convenient location, and, frankly, because my first choices were closed on a Monday. The food was tasty and nicely presented. The drinks were very good. Our server was personable and professional. Our only complaint was the sound level, which was high, and which made conversation difficult. We all commented on it once we exited the restaurant. I get it, it's a gastropub, but I'm sorry to say, the din made the dining less enjoyable.
As part of the (Daily) Grill chain, it is creative and unique. Depending on where it's located, in this case Culver City, CA, it tacks onto it's name, the phone prefix--310.
It's predominently a young crowd that apparently does not care that it's hearing is aggressively impacted. On top of no sound dampening, music is added to the mix, meaning one must raise one's voice to be heard by the companion.
Had lunch with some friends and family
Conversation it was difficult because the music was too loud!
Suzanna was exceptional in taking care of my table and I! Highly recommend this location as a nice brunch spot for the weekends! Awesome idea and kudos to who ever created the bottomless and such a good value!
Delicious food and great service!
Superb neighborhood place — fabulous patio & delish food. Stellar in every way.
From the start of the reservation the waitress seemed quite disinterested in serving us. I was seated before my friend arrived, who joined me about 5 minutes later & after another five to eight minutes our waitress greeted us asking for our drink orders. Though I don’t require a dramatic greeting, she wasn’t very pleasant and seemed annoyed after asking her about a few drink options.
She checked on us halfway into the meal, again a bit drab. We were seated on the right side of the dinning room when you enter the restaurant and by 11:15 were the last to finish up. We realized after the other tables on our side were being reset for the next day that we were overstaying our reservation however, we noticed there were several, maybe a dozen, other patrons on the other side closest to the bar so we felt comfortable finishing up our conversation...not to mention we’d already paid the bill.
So with a closed bill and several other customers still in the restaurant, our waitress returned to grab the signed check, without a word, a thank you or goodnight. I will admit while I typically tip generously, given the fact that I’ve been a server before, I decided to let my tip reflect closer to her provided service and left only fifteen percent. Just moments later, a man who we perceive to be, because he did not introduce himself, the manager approached our table informing us of his closing duties and passively hinting at us leaving, while the remaining patrons on the other side of the restaurant continued enjoying their evening. His comments regarding “dropping off money & signing books” were of no concern to us & was somewhat abrasive given the fact that he’d had to pass so many other customers to get to us, but was pushing us out.
I’ve been to this location before, along with others & while the food is fairly consistent the service is clearly not. I understand that everyone has unpleasant days, however I’m not understanding when I am treated as if I am the cause.
Excellent food and service. Love the ambiance! Will definitely be going back many times. Also has a good happy hour.
Our first time there. Sat in a large booth it was roomy and comfortable.,The server made a few recommendations one of which was the to die for fried cheese stuffed cauliflower. Our drinks and app came pretty fast. Dinner followed shortly. The manager came over towards the end of the evening he was told it was our first time. He gave us two complimentary cards: cauliflower and dessert. It was so nice. We will be back.
Had lunch there with a work colleague. Food was delicious and we had great service. Will definitely return.
Great food, not too loud, and the great service! My favorite neighborhood restaurant.
We had amazing service. Stayed at brunch far too long and felt no pressure to turn the table over. Food was delicious as always.
Awesome cocktails and food! We loved it so much!!!!!
Love this place. A must visit. Try the bison burger, it’s famtastic.
Awesome place. Awesome food. Awesome staff. Highly recommend!
Love the food and cocktails. Their bison burger is amazing. Great place for a business lunch. Waiter are all friendly and top notch. A must visit!!
My friend & I were treated well by Cary during happy hour. Delicious food, tasty, reasonable wi e!
Great burgers, good service altho quite busy on patio, great ambience
We love the menu and the vibe and keep coming back!
Our waitress Sam was amazing. She was attentive, fun, and knowledgeable. My friend's first time at PS was great.
The big negative: it's really loud. Don't try to have a first date here. Or any date where you want to talk.
It would be great to have happy hour available to the dining section too, and not just the communal bar. The loud techno music was a bit jarring, but it was funny to see the host Shazam all the songs.
This restaurant is really cool, good service and atmosphere plus it reminded me of home in NY with the “ps name.” The only bad thing I have to say, is that I felt like the hostess was table rushing and lurking for us to get up from dining. Our waiter had just dropped checks and she was already staring us down for another waiting table. Other than that the food was amazing.
Great waitress and delicious food
I have been to Public School on a few separate occasions. It is consistently good...food, wait staff, location and ambiance are always enjoyed by all in the party.
Overall good food and service.
I made a reservation prior and chose outdoor but we were seated indoor. We had a server to start and as soon as we placed our order we were given to someone else even though our server was still in our area. The food was good and came out quickly. We played board games too so that was fun. The real reason for my less than 5 star score is that the service once we had our food became very very slow (there were plenty of open tables around so it wasn’t too busy), it took a long time for anyone to come around, we actually had to get up to approach someone eventually.
We sat out front which was nice. Fried Chicken Sandwich was delicious. I'll go back.
I have been to Public School several times and normally enjoy it but this time the food was subpar. My chicken and waffles only came with a couple of very dry chicken strips and waffles. There was some congealed gravy and no maple syrup or hot sauce. It was flavorless and just plain bad. My friend's chicken salad faired no better and even copious amounts of salt could not save it. Overall a very poor dining experience although our waiter was nice and attentive.
The food at Public School is not very good. The piece of fried chicken was a bit dry and far too fat for the sandwich bun. The meat should have been flatter and the bun stronger, as the sandwich basically fell apart at the first bite. The cole slaw was bland except for being over-peppered. The pieces of cabbage tasted like wet leaves from the forest. The strawberry shortcake was not actually a shortcake at all, but had the consistency of a scone. It was very chewy when it should have been light and fluffy. Overall a really terrible bunch of food to eat. I don’t drink alcohol, so perhaps I would have liked the food after a few drinks.
