Good food, appropriate space, attentive service...
The limited menu is kind of frustrating
Food and drinks were fantastic as usual. Service was awesome. 4 stars because it was freezing and they did not provide any outdoor heaters like most other businesses on the block.
The hostess didn’t read our notes so don’t bother writing one. We waited 30 min on a table on the patio that we had requested when making the reservation as the hostess had promised everyone in line one and hadn’t managed reservations. We asked her to bring a waiter to our table as soon as possible as we were ready to order, 15 min later and no waiter, I ask her again and she said she had forgotten to ask in the first place. So 45 min waiting.
Our waiter was really fast and good, but it was clear that he didn’t help us as much as he helped anyone else - probably because of what had happened with the hostess.
The patio area is small and although we had reservations, we resorted to sit in the outside area they created because we were hungry. We understand outdoor seating is what is the “now” and are completely okay with that but the area was uncovered, unlit & cold. Now that the temperature has changed, I would suggest heaters or a covered patio of some sort as we are backed up against the street as well. Food was good but got cold quickly
Had a terrific date here. She said, "The food here was significantly better than what I expected for a Gastropub."
I took my daughter and her friends for her 16th dinner last night. I asked both the hostess and the server if they’d do something for her bday (a little dessert with candle), both said “sure”.
Food came out quick, however one of the friends food came out at least 15 min after everyone else’s. At least they acknowledged and credited our bill. Customer service is very lacking. We had to ask several times to refill our water. Additionally at the end of our meal, no birthday dessert was brought out, and they handed me over the check as if it was a rush for us to pay and leave. Needless to say, I won’t be retuning. Food was sub par and service sucks.
My guy Damien was amazing! Amazing suggestions. Prompt. Proactive. Definitely a dope vibe!
The service was great. Staff was very accommodating, friendly and operated in a timely fashion, including the food and drinks. Food was good; nice menu selections.
Made a reservation for happy hour and wasn’t seated until 30 mins later. Due to this, we weren’t allowed to order off of the happy hour menu and take advantage of those deals. Slow service.
The food and staff is always great
Food wasn’t that great this time maybe because it was during happy hour
The construction noise was deafening. Restaurant was fine, but we could not have a conversation at our outdoor table due to the noise.
Great Vibes relaxing night out.
Expansive outdoor dining -- perfect for the COVID-era.
Food was really good, and the service was even better!
Loved everything about this restaurant! Happy hour deals are great and everything on the menu is amazing!
First time being there and it was really good.
Twas good. Twas very good
Mentioned on yelp- service was not good nor was the main dish.
Our server Megan was awesome ! Loved her. Never seen such an extensive happy hour menu! The white sangria, Parmesan frites, and buffalo cauliflower were my favorites! Great first time experience. Can’t wait to go back.
Great staff. Reasonable price. Good food. Nice outdoor experience.
I had a reservation but it seem like they weren’t expecting me to show up I still have to wait for a table the whole point of reservation as you get there oh welcome
I have read about this place for far too long but thanks to Dine LA, I finally had a chance and it did not disappoint. Starting with the appetizers, the crispy buffalo cauliflower and bacon cheddar tots were yummy and usually, I am not a fan of fried cauliflower but this is so good that I am ready to stop by tomorrow for lunch.
As for my entree, I had the beer cheese me burger, which was medium well mixed with mad goodness and my sister enjoyed her very perfect fried chicken sandwich and of course, we had to toast with a nice mimosa.
The outdoor dining was nice, the service was great as well as the meal.
Fantastic option for safe outdoor dining during Covid. Loved my seating outside (they’ve blocked off part of the street as have the neighboring restaurants) and the Impossible burger was delicious. Lovely service as well. Highly recommended!
I was not familiar with Public School restaurants- a friend chose from DineLA on a friend’s recommendation.
I thought another gastropub
We stuck to the DineLA menu-
Although we perused the regular menu and “Recess” ( happy hour ) menus. He ordered the PB&J
Old Fashioned, which he said was well done!
For our entrees he had the Beer Cheese Me Burger, which he very much enjoyed. I had the Moroccan Harissa Salmon, which was fantastic! The flavors, spice and combination of beans and veggies was so good! Portions were very generous.
Overall it was a very good dinner out. The restaurant seems to be following Covid protocols- we were outside on the “expanded patio “.
In LA we are so fortunate to have so many restaurant choices, so we decide - it was good, but next time will try somewhere new. Public School surpassed our expectations- would definitely return!
The food was okay until I found a hair in it. An apology was given along with the full ✔ my kids didn't finish they're food. Server was nice still. Being a server myself I understand
The service was very good and the waiters were quick and attentive. The food was alright, a little overpriced for what we got but we would still return
It was such a fun evening catching up with a friend of mine. Everybody was following guidelines due to Covid and I felt very safe. They extend the patio towards the street so it allowed a lot of space and even allowed for my friends dog to be with us as well. Will definitely go back!
It’s a great restaurant!! The service is always great. The food is excellent. Their public School burger is so delicious. I love getting their coleslaw so so good.
It is a bit of a different time in our lives. The staff and service was exellent.
Here on vacation for my birthday. Service was amazing
Went during covid and their outside seating is very spaced out and comfortable
I have a reservation at 9:30 pm on Friday. When I get there. They was already closing they said closing at 9:30.
All was good!
Felt safe, food was delicious, service was great
Service and food always good! sat outside on the street patio....bring a sweater just in case!
Our favorite place in Culver City, staff is great, food and drinks are awesome!
The worst service ever. Waited 15 mins for a drink order, waited 30 additional minutes for a food order and even though I made reservations had to wait 15 mins for a seat to open up. Food is decent not amazing not horrible. I probably won’t be back.
