Public House Downtown
Some of our Food was cold, Mimosas were premise and 95% OJ... had to send it back
Doesn’t seem like they were ready for a large lunch crowd, took almost an hour and a half to get ordered, food to come, and get the check. The waitress was hustling, but this isn’t the first time I’ve had a mediocre experience.
Food was awful.
Got seated right away but no one came around with water or anything for some time, had to wait a lot for server between server visits to our table. But everyone was very nice and good food. Maybe just an off night. We’d definitely go back.
We ordered the Brandi Fried Chicken, Buffalo Chicken Wings and the Grilled Cheese Sandwich.
The one notable item is the Brandi Fried Chicken had a fishy odor that gave me the impression that the chicken was fried in the same oil as their fish.
Drunk dude yelling about John McCain the whole time
Greasy and uninteresting. Pub food at its mediocre best
First time visit, service was average, food choices were good so we will try it again
Came here for brunch...but the place seems better suited to happy hour. Food was adequate. Service was fine. Coffee was terrible, (and priced as though it were some kind of rare pour-over). The cocktails and salad at the table next to us looked incredible ... I think we just came for the wrong meal.
The service here was second to none. Our waitress had a great personality and the food was excellent. Wish we lived in the area. I would eat here often. Wish we had this place close to us in Illinois
Must try the fresh made pretzel ..it is huge a d best tasting pretzel I've ever had. Try it with the mustard sauce and caramel. The skirt steak salad was excellent...very fresh and steak flavorful and cooked just right. Server was friendly ...
Stopped at the Public House on our way to see The Drowsy Chaperone. Enjoyed the food and beer. Nice place for a TGIF!
Food was good. Good place to eat
This place is hands down one of the best places in Sacramento.
this place was great for and evening dinner. The portions were big and the beer choices were amazing.
This was our first time visiting Public House and we did so as recommended by Music Circus. We were not disappointed. The service was prompt and courteous, and the food was outstanding, prepared exactly as requested. We will certainly return to try more menu items and choose from their extensive beer selections.
This was our first time here and the food was great....in fact, their fries are amazing! The service was really poor, however. When i arrived to meet my friend, I was asked immediately if I was ready to order. I asked for a couple of minutes to look our waitress left and did not come back for nearly 30 minutes. We had to ask for more water. The food came out a short time later, piping hot and quite good. After briefly stopping by to see how every thing was, we didn't see our server again. We had to flag someone down to bring containers for leftovers and the rest of the dishes were never picked up. We were brought our check, made a request for more water and that the dishes be removed and were ignored. My friend asked to have separate checks but they never came and we decided to split up the one check ourselves. The server took the card and brought it back. She looked like she couldn't be bothered. I have not experienced this lack of service in many many years. Overall, the atmosphere was great, the food was terrific, but I couldn't recommend this place for anyone that expects good service. Too bad they don't take this seriously enough to train their staff better.
We had a nice meal...just happened to choose a night when there was an NBA finals game on and it was very noisy.
We thought the variety of food was excellent. If you are looking for a romantic night with a special friend, this is not for you; however, if you want a fun “pizza night” with an interesting menu, this place is spot. Try the French fries. The are perfect. Next time I want to try the lobster pizza with fontina cheese.
Very extensive menu that translated over to some delicious food. Noise level was very loud and it was difficult to hear each other at the table when trying to talk, but it was also busy. Would not have been as big of an issue of slower. The quality of the service was very good, however it was sporadic. There was long stretches of time in-between check ins from the staff where you’d not be able to order another drink/refill or ask for an item to go with the food. Staff were very friendly, though, when checking in.
Service was excellent. Food was good. I had an issue with my Eggs Benedict, twice. First the chefs had to remake it because they didn't put the sauce on the side & apparently rushed it. Rushed, not prioritized. One of the two eggs was severely undercooked, light pale yellow yolk with uncooked white. The other was a little better deeper orangier yolk. I brought this to the manager's attention so the chefs could be informed of the undercooked eggs. She ended up bringing me 2 more perfectly poached eggs (which was unexpected). They totally fixed the problem & even comped my entree. I will definitely go back.
We enjoyed the Firestone PH before the PINK concert. It was wonderful. I highly recommend the pizzas. The service was excellent and they accommodated us by allowing us to add 2 persons to our table and seat us outside. They have heaters outside which was perfect when the wind picked up. The friendly, welcoming atmosphere was perfect.
Food and service was great. My breakfast potatoes were cold, but the rest of my meal was warm enough.
Very attentive waitress. Table ready right at time of reservation. No waiting.
We made a reservation for 6 pm (Happy Hour ends at 6) and the waitress gave us the happy hour menu, so our server honored. Half price on many menu items and libations. Great service, food and just 2 blocks from the Community Center theatre. Perfect!
Firestone has a good Happy Hour menu and is a fun and lively place. My group had dinner off of the Happy Hour menu (pizzas, natcho tots) and all found the food and drinks excellent. My 3 stars for the service was not due to the quality of our server (he was very pleasant and as attentive as he could manage to be); rather, it was because the place was seriously understaffed for as busy as Firestone was that night. Food was slow getting out, and the few servers who were there were running themselves ragged trying to take care of customers. More staff was needed to keep up. But I would definitely go back.
Not bad! Good food, good time. Can be a bit loud. Would go back
Happy hour specials are amazing! Everything was delicious! We had the giant pretZel, fish and chips appetizer(which is the size of a meal), a pizza and 2 cocktails all for $35
Best happy hour in town
Great atmosphere if you like a sports bar theme. Food was delicious.
This was our first visit and it did not disappoint. The service at the booth was great and the food was so good. Big size portions as well. The bartender was a bit rude when we tried to order some food to go on our way out, but overall everyone else was very friendly. We will come back.
Hostess was very rude and tried to ignore me twice by trying to help the larger party who arrived after me. I interrupted and on the third time was finally acknowledged and assisted while standing directly in front of her at the hostess counter. The wait staff and MOD were great as was the food.
Amazing food, and well made drinks. Great vibe and great time all around
I would recommend this place to my friends. It’s a great place to go out and have a few drinks.
The decor in here is all hard, flat surfaces. This means that if there are more than a few people present, it's deafeningly loud. The food is not bad, and the service is okay but overall it's like trying to enjoy your food on the runway at O'Hare while airplanes are taxiing around you and taking off nearby. Bring earplugs, maybe?
We were treated very well by the staff who accommodated our large group on very short notice. Kaley - hope I have spelled her name correctly - took very good care of us.
Really great place. I’d absolutely come back but next time I’ll skip the avocado egg rolls. They weren’t bad, just not a whole lot of flavor. My steak salad, on the other hand, was perfect. Really tasty and plenty of it. They did my steak a perfect medium rare. As for people, there’s a nice mix of young and old in there with all kinds of sports on the many TVs. Loud enough to be interesting but quiet enough to have a conversation at your table. Totally recommend!
We went twice in three days because the menu was so extensive we didn’t want to choose only one thing! Although my husband had the ribeye sandwich both times- so delicious. Fun place, reasonably priced for way better than average food, and a good beer and wine list. Will definitely be back.
Service was good. Food was uneven. I had the tomato bisque, which was quite acidic and stewed tomato-ey tasting, but nicely seasoned. I also had the Reuben, which was good, but the bread was very dry.
Fish and chips and the sliders were great! The tomato matzo soup not so much. Tasted more like pizza sauce. The spicy edamame was over the top spicy too so beware!
