About Public House - Chattanooga

Several years ago, I decided that my future in the restaurant business would most likely not remain in the realm of fine dining and gourmands, but would rather lean towards the style of restaurant that I found myself frequenting most often - places that provided consistency and quality at a price that was fair for the quality of the food and experience. Public House plays to the comforts of good, solid food, while applying the principles of premium food products to a more casual setting. You will find all the fish is delivered from Foley’s in Boston, high quality steaks and a rotating selection of vegetable sides that are true to the region and season. You’ll also find a really good hamburger and fish sandwich, along with fun snacks and small plates that pair well with cocktails, beer and wine.
Welcome,
Nathan Lindley

The food and service were excellent! We went there for our anniversary and because the tables are close together and other parties were very loud, it was difficult to have conversation.

We have been there many times and always love the food, the waiters we get,and our time there. This was a birthday gathering and they handed us a sweet card when we got there.
We didn't stay for dessert but have had their Carrot Cake in the past and love it.

This was our first time at Public House and we will return. Our server made some excellent recommendations. The pimento cheese/toast appetizer was especially good.

Great food and great atmosphere. The service was very good. It was busy when we went for lunch so the server was a little slow to get around to us a couple of times. My wife enjoyed lunch so much we cut our dinner short at another restaurant to come back here for drinks and dessert. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Chattanooga.

Wonderful restaurant. Started off with the wedge salad and then pork tenderloin with grits. I’m from the south, and I can say that their grits were creamy dreamy deliciousness. And the peanut pie was to amazing. A most to check out while in Chattanooga.

The best meal while in Chattanooga.... I had the pork tenderloin which was absolutely amazing. The minty lemonade was easy to sip down and in quickly requested another. Wonderful food and I would have visited again if we had been in town another night.

Always an excellent meal lunch or dinner! The fried chicken, roast beef, crab cake sandwich,
and the steak with creamy horseradish sauce are our family favorites. Creme Brûlée is
excellent and enough for two people to share.

Very healthy offerings of local fare foods. Andrea was our server and she was very attentive and informative of menu items. Made several recommendations of pairings for wine. List was not that extensive but they do several mixed drink options that were very interesting.

We rec'd a gift certificate as an anniversary gift. We finally made the time to go there for dinner. It exceeded ALL expectations. Our reservation time was spot on, the staff fabulous ad the food so tasty. Cannot wait to return and bring out of town guests. If you haven't gone to The Public House, make your reservations (it was packed on the Saturday night we went). BRAVO!

Exceptional and original menu with wide variey. The location in mid town was
very near our hotel. Casual attire and modernistic decor was fine. Unfortunately, we had
a waitress on her very first night, and she did not know the wines or menu items.

I often take friends here b/c menu has food variety for vegans, Southern fare, and Gluten free (choices limited, but available). I like that PH uses local growers and farm to table when possible. I like the fact that the building is also repurposed and not a new build.

My husband and I enjoyed our dinner here and appreciated the service provided. The waiter offered tastes of wine to help me get it right. I had the appetizer of sea scallops and butternut squash with crushed pecans—innovative and delicious with the arugula salad. My husband was impressed by the fried chicken salad—the chicken was moist and tender and the greens were fresh. For dessert I had the carrot cake, which was large enough to share. Would definitely return.

We had a wonderful meal at Public House. Our group consisted of 4 adults and 2 children. Our waiter went above and beyond to make us feel welcome with our children. The kids menu can't be beaten, and all of our food was outstanding. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Chattanooga. Great all around!

This restaurant was recommended by several people in Chatt. from our bellman to the uber driver. We met a local couple at a bar in Northshore and they recommended. We went on Open Table, made a reservation and called an Uber. The restaurant was attractive, comfortable and well staffed. Our dinner was delicious. We had a delightful conversation with the Beverage director. We would definitely visit again while in Chattanooga.

This was a wonderful restaurant ! From the card congratulating my husband and I for our anniversary to the excellent wine list I could go on and on !!! I had the fried chicken and it was the best I’ve had. My husband had the pot roast which was fork tender. The service is attentive without being overwhelming. Perfect for a night out with friends, date or even hosting a group. Next time I’m in Chattanooga I will be back
