About Public House - Chattanooga
Several years ago, I decided that my future in the restaurant business would most likely not remain in the realm of fine dining and gourmands, but would rather lean towards the style of restaurant that I found myself frequenting most often - places that provided consistency and quality at a price that was fair for the quality of the food and experience. Public House plays to the comforts of good, solid food, while applying the principles of premium food products to a more casual setting. You will find all the fish is delivered from Foley’s in Boston, high quality steaks and a rotating selection of vegetable sides that are true to the region and season. You’ll also find a really good hamburger and fish sandwich, along with fun snacks and small plates that pair well with cocktails, beer and wine.

Public House - Chattanooga Ratings and Reviews
We rec'd a gift certificate as an anniversary gift. We finally made the time to go there for dinner. It exceeded ALL expectations. Our reservation time was spot on, the staff fabulous ad the food so tasty. Cannot wait to return and bring out of town guests. If you haven't gone to The Public House, make your reservations (it was packed on the Saturday night we went). BRAVO!
I often take friends here b/c menu has food variety for vegans, Southern fare, and Gluten free (choices limited, but available). I like that PH uses local growers and farm to table when possible. I like the fact that the building is also repurposed and not a new build.
My husband and I enjoyed our dinner here and appreciated the service provided. The waiter offered tastes of wine to help me get it right. I had the appetizer of sea scallops and butternut squash with crushed pecans—innovative and delicious with the arugula salad. My husband was impressed by the fried chicken salad—the chicken was moist and tender and the greens were fresh. For dessert I had the carrot cake, which was large enough to share. Would definitely return.
We had a wonderful meal at Public House. Our group consisted of 4 adults and 2 children. Our waiter went above and beyond to make us feel welcome with our children. The kids menu can't be beaten, and all of our food was outstanding. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Chattanooga. Great all around!
This restaurant was recommended by several people in Chatt. from our bellman to the uber driver. We met a local couple at a bar in Northshore and they recommended. We went on Open Table, made a reservation and called an Uber. The restaurant was attractive, comfortable and well staffed. Our dinner was delicious. We had a delightful conversation with the Beverage director. We would definitely visit again while in Chattanooga.
This was a wonderful restaurant ! From the card congratulating my husband and I for our anniversary to the excellent wine list I could go on and on !!! I had the fried chicken and it was the best I’ve had. My husband had the pot roast which was fork tender. The service is attentive without being overwhelming. Perfect for a night out with friends, date or even hosting a group. Next time I’m in Chattanooga I will be back
We enjoyed our dinner. The menu and a good selection of entrees and hearty sandwiches. The sides were pretty enticing also. We had the pork belly appetizer and it was good. Also would recommend the grilled chicken sandwich, pot roast and the fish of the day.
We made reservations for my Mom's birthday dinner.my Husband and I had eaten here for lunch, but we had never tried the dinner menu. We always love the food, and we were not disappointed. The duck confit was the best I've ever tasted. My Mom ordered the steak which was grilled to perfection, and my Husband had the trout which was outstanding! Kevin, our server was extremely attentive and friendly. We enjoyed speaking to him throughout our meal. For our dessert course, we ordered the creme brûlée, key lime pie, and carrot cake. We still can't decide which was our favorite as they were all amazing. We loved our visit, and are looking forward to our next dining experience here!!
This is one of my favorite places to eat! Great food!! I was disappointed in the cost of my meal. I eat gluten free. I ordered their hamburger meat on a house salad. They charged me for full hamburger meal and cost of salad. I didn't even get a side that comes with the hamburger.
We always eat at Tony's (at the Bluff View Art District) when we drive to Chattanooga, but are glad that we decided to give the Public House a chance. We had some pretty loud people around us, but the food was really good. Will definitely go again and will definitely recommend the place to our friends.
