Several years ago, I decided that my future in the restaurant business would most likely not remain in the realm of fine dining and gourmands, but would rather lean towards the style of restaurant that I found myself frequenting most often - places that provided consistency and quality at a price that was fair for the quality of the food and experience. Public House plays to the comforts of good, solid food, while applying the principles of premium food products to a more casual setting. You will find all the fish is delivered from Foley’s in Boston, high quality steaks and a rotating selection of vegetable sides that are true to the region and season. You’ll also find a really good hamburger and fish sandwich, along with fun snacks and small plates that pair well with cocktails, beer and wine.

Usually have nothing but rave reviews for this restaurant. Last night I ordered shrimp and grits and was kind of disappointed. Some of my shrimp had not been deveined, and the amount of andouille sausage was little tidbits, not good sized chunks. Good heat in the sauce. Could have been better for sure. One of the others at my table ordered the banana pudding for desert and it was super grainy- not smooth. The drink I ordered from the bar, an irish whiskey, I don't know what it had in it, but it did not taste like an Irish whiskey which I usually make with Jameson (what they used) and ginger beer and lime. I almost think they didn't use ginger beer at all because of the taste. I did not send it back because I was with friends who were picking up the tab. Waitstaff was wonderful.

We booked a last minute family get together for a Friday night. We were surprised & delighted to be seated in the Oak Room- a private dining experience! This was such a great treat, and made dining with our fam so comfortable.

I always have a great experience with each visit. Shannon is one the most amazing people that’s there!! It’s worth a visit. It speedy service for lunch. The food is always delicious.

Enjoyed the steak wedge and a glass of Washington Cabernet. The steak was medium rare and cooked perfectly. The blue cheese dressing on the wedge was delicious. My husband had the fried chicken which was good but he thought it should have more spice to the batter, the Mac and cheese was very creamy. Service was quick and friendly. We enjoyed our dinner and would recommend this restaurant highly.

Excellent and plentiful small plates. The chicken livers were basically a main and absolutely delicious. Service was prompt, low key, and spot-on. Definitely enjoyed our salad and small plate combinations- wedge, pork belly, and those livers! And local drafts....

Visiting from out of town but have dined here before. We each tried a salad and found them fresh and full of flavor. Great opening course. My wife ordered a glass of wine and it was bountiful and flavorful. We both ordered the trout and were very pleased with the dish. The trout was crispy on the outside but just right inside…with no bones to boot! Accompanied by grits, it was really a tasty meal and reasonably priced. Our server, Nick, was attentive, helpful and kept the food moving and plates cleared. Very much appreciated. This is out go to place in Chat and have never been disappointed.

We spent the weekend in Chattanooga and had a wonderful dinner on the patio Saturday evening. The atmosphere was great, the service was attentive, and the food arrived in perfect timing. Everything we ordered was outstanding! The Cobb salad was one of the best I’ve ever had, and the pimento burger did not disappoint. Don’t skip the deviled eggs — they were a delicious starter. The cocktails were just as impressive. I had an Espresso Martini and a Lemon Drop, both perfectly crafted, and the Old Fashioned was spot on. Highly recommend this spot — we’ll definitely be back!
