Pimento Cheese & Saltines
The food was great. We had the pimento cheese appetizer. My husband had the side salad and fried chicken with Mac n cheese. He said it was the best Mac n cheese he’s ever had. I had the wedge and the snapper special with brussel sprouts. All of the food was very good, and our server was phenomenal. I wish I could remember her name, but I unfortunately cannot. She was an African American woman, who was very spunky, full of character, and extremely helpful with the menu.
Incredibly disappointed! Wait for orders was excessive. Requests had to be made multiple times. Food quality and presentation were poor. Expensive fir what we got. Will never go back.
My birthday celebration
The Public House is one of our favorite Chattanooga restaurants. Our favorite items include the Salmon, Pot Roast and mashed potatoes and the Fried Chicken Another go-to is the small plate of scallops with a side of their excellent Grits.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very nice. When I reserved I let the know it was a birthday celebration and they left a hand written note. We will be back.
Great service and outstanding food. My husband had the filet and said it was the best he’s had in years! I had the salmon and it was delicious as was the squash casserole and fried local okra. We will definitely go back!
We dined on the porch for a friend’s birthday lunch. Every dish was delightful and the service was flawless. The salmon is the best in town, as are the thin French fries. We love it!!
Perfect place for lunch! Everything was fresh and delicious. Our server was great!
I was there celebrating two girlfriends birthdays & had a wonderful time as always!
Had a lovely dinner with friends on the patio. The street noice was load at times, but there is nothing Public House can do to change that fact. Great menu and friendly staff. Still one of the best places to eat downtown with certainly the best outdoor patio.
Ambiance was nice, service was quick, and they even gave us a free dessert and a coupon for our next visit since we were celebrating our anniversary.
My only complaint was that my shrimp and grits needed salt. And then I couldn't find someone to give me salt. (Just in case you're wondering, I don't typically add salt to my food at restaurants--I usually complain about too much salt.😀) On the other hand, my husband's fried fish sandwich was apparently perfect. We had a grand time.
One of our favorite places in town. Great experience as always!
Great service and food was delicious as well.
Food was very good and our waitress was amazing. All the staff was kind and accomodating.
The food and service is always top notch here. I got the Cobb salad and it was huge and so delicious!! Will keep coming back for more! The noise level on a Saturday at noon was a little loud but we were right by the kitchen. They have many rooms you could go to that would be quieter.
Wonderful food with great selection. One of us had shrimp and grits, another crab cake, two had the tender, tasty filet mignon. Hugh salads. Wine very good and reasonably priced. Carrot cake large enough to share and cream bulee, wow! Tables spaced for social distance. We will return!
We were in town for a graduation and looked for a high end restaurant. Public House did not disappoint.
Our server was kind & patient with my 7 & 2-year old daughters. The food was delicious as always!
Public House has a very limited lunch menu, but WOW! The options are all so good. I had the Cobb salad which comes with 3 fried chicken fingers and deviled eggs instead of just an egg cut in half. OMG that was the best Cobb salad I've ever had! Highly recommend Public House. It was fairly quiet also which is nice so you can actually have a conversation over your meal.
Awesome food! Like really really good. Price point was great and the service was excellent!
Interesting food, if not the tastiest thing I had in town. It was certainly an interesting spot, with a decent enough patio, and not a bad atmosphere, I just felt like for the price the food might’ve been better. Nothing to complain about, but the food felt about on par with something from Applebees overall but not as cheap.
The food was amazing. We sat outside on the patio, and it was beautiful. We had to move tables because of the rain but the staff took great care of us. The servers were wonderful and very attentive. I’d go back anytime for a lovely dinner or lunch.
Second visit for our anniversary. Wonderful as always. Sat outside, so noise level from street, but expected. Tables were spaced appropriately for Covid parameters and servers wore masks. Food is always awesome. One of our favorite places to dine in Chattanooga.
Wow! Y’all did it again. What a wonderful dining experience. Thanks for everything. The food is always top shelf. The wine selection is just right.
Overall a good experience. Keep up the good work.
Always superb! Wait staff amazing!!
Good food. Good service
Love the food as always! More like an office now though, liked pre remodel much better.
Found this restaurant somewhat by chance a year ago, and wanted to return on next trip through Chattanooga. Everything was excellent, once again. We arrived about 30 minutes prior to closing, but was not rushed through dinner. Will certainly return next time in Chattanooga.
We had an appetizer of fried okra which was crispy and quite filling. This was followed by excellent pot roast and the fish special for our table. Carrot cake is a don’t miss dessert. Service was excellent. Tables are well spaced and this restaurant is doing an excellent job insuring that guests are kept safe from viral spread while enjoying fine dining. It almost felt normal.
We were on vacation and found this place online. It’s a pretty setting. We were in a room with only seating for maybe 20. I liked the intimate atmosphere. The service was great! The best scallops too. My son had filet that was covered in a brown sauce he wished he had known was going to be on it. He would have preferred it plain. Or maybe on the side. The flounder my husband ordered was delicious too. The jack Daniels chocolate cheesecake didn’t disappoint either!
Keep going back because everything is fantastic!
Food was delicious, we were seated right away. Completely accommodating for children! We had our one year old with us and the children’s menu even comes with a first course and second course- genius. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly, and the food was absolutely incredible. Even the kids chicken tenders! Highly recommend. Try the jalapeño margarita (has a different name)
Great food and good drinks.
Pork tenderloin and grits were amazing. So flavorful and true southern charm. Best grits ever!! And we are from Louisiana and are serious about our shrimp and grits. These grits were crazy good.
Others in our group had the steak and mashed potatoes. All enjoyed the meal. One of the best meals we had in Chattanooga
We were seated. Hostess left a flyer for sangria flight. Waitress came. I asked if I could have one of the three flavors as just a full drink. She starts talking about the ingredients of all the sangrias. Cool, trying to entice me. I get it. When she finished, I asked if I could just have the rosé one; she tells me she’ll bring me the watermelon white wine one. I told her I had said rosé, thinking maybe she just didn’t hear me. She says I “absolutely cannot have the rosé single.” Um... okay. When she returns to take out order (no review of the soup of day, specials, etc), I asked how the trout was prepared to which she answers “in a pan.” Heavy pause here. When I asked if she could expand on the preparation, she proceeds to explain how they remove the head and tail to serve it. No mention of the herbs, butter etc... HORRIBLE ATTITUDE! As we were waiting, considering whether to leave, the table adjacent asks manager to be moved out of this section because of..... this waitress. Horrible service. Food mediocre at best. So many more good restaurants in DT Chattanooga!!
Everything was top notch. The server was amazing. Thank you for the great experience and being a wonderful place to celebrate my 40th birthday.
Loved our dinner here! My son said the cookie ranked 1 billion out of a 1-10. Food was amazing, service was excellent!
