Food was delicious. Timing of food could have been spaced better. Entrees came right after salad was delivered.
Nice place walking distance from our stay at the Read House. We enjoyed the outdoor seating.
We were driving from Florida to Indiana and decided to stop in Chattanooga for dinner and an overnight stay. Found public house as it was highly rated on yelp. The inside of this restaurant is uninviting. We chose to sit outside which was much better ambience. The server was very nice but she was unable to remember any thing we asked of her. I ordered a sugar-free CBD seltzer and she brought me one with sugar. I had to ask two times or three times for everything (a glass of ice for my seltzer, limes) as well as my husband had to ask multiple times for beer refills. It got a little chilly and I asked for the heat lamp to be turned on which she was not able to do and then forgot to ask someone to help her to do it. Her lack of follow up to any of our requests was almost comical by the end of our evening. However the food was terrific! I had the pan seared trout on top of cabbage and thick cut bacon chunks- amazing and delicious. My husband’s fillet was overcooked (he ordered it medium rare and got medium to medium-well) but it was good and the cheesy cauliflower on the side was excellent. We would definitely go back for the food if in Chattanooga again but the ambience and especially the service left much to be desired.
Great service, amazing food. Will definitely be returning
We visited Chattanooga and wanted to go to a local restaurant. I wouldn’t recommend going here for a special occasion, it is very casual and the food is affordable and tasted good, but nothing out of the ordinary! The staff is very nice.
Food was delicious. Was pleased that tables had adequate space in between and felt clean
We had to wait 30min past our reservation for a table. The rest of experience was good. Was glad I did not bring guests as It would have been awkward to wait. We did not want to wait in the bar due to COVD so just stood outside. Would have been nice if they would have offered to bring us a drink while we waited.
Oh my goodness! Everyone in our group loved the food, were impressed with the service, and atmosphere. We will definitely be back next time we are in town!
Vacation with family. We had a 2.5 year old with us and kids options were amazing!
Although we are 30 year residents of the area this was our first visit to Public House and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Server was excellent, she had a great sense of humor and took great care of us and we’re not an easy bunch. Food was delicious, I highly recommend the shrimp and grits, Pot roast, & fried chicken, all fantastic !!!You’ve got to save room for the Caramel Carrot cake.
We will be regulars from now on.
The decor and ambience were both very satisfying. The option to eat either indoor or outdoor was also a welcome sight, as we wanted to and did eat outside. The hostess was welcoming and our server was very knowledgeable of the menu items. The heating lamps were also a great addition. And the food was absolutely delicious. The quail on grits was delectable, the soup of the day was a perfectly light appetizer, the trout and fried chicken tasted amazing and both the mac and, I will most certainly visit this place again every time I visit Chattanooga. Thanks to the entire staff and my compliments to the chefs!
Had a wonderful experience out on the patio! Our server, Leo, was awesome. He was able to provide wonderful recommendations and was totally open to all of our questions. We were there on a Monday and took advantage of the exceptionally priced bottled wine special. 🍷
Food was good, wine list was a little lacking. Overall a pretty decent dinner.
Great place all around. Would recommend to anyone
Amazing service and outstanding food! The red wine pot roast was to die for.
Our server was great, we loved her!!
Fantastic the best in Chattanooga! We love it every time we come
My adult son and his wife are planning a visit to Chattanooga and I will recommend they eat there. The atmosphere was chic and the food very good. I had the sirloin and fries and it was an excellent cut.
Go for it.
Hard review to write because nothing was truly terrible but nothing was stellar. Apps were adequate: "Deviled eggs & Bacon Brittle" were just deviled eggs with a tiny piece of chewy bacon, more akin to bacon jerky. The sauteed sea scallop small plate was flavorful and the scallops were well-cooked. Shrimp and grits was not very good: grits were soupy with no bite left to them at all and shrimp were overcooked. It was edible but not enjoyable. Red wine pot roast was highlight of meal, would recommend. Service was spotty - rolls (which were not warm and seemed stale) arrived when our entrees were nearly finished. My son ordered the Tennessee Whiskey Cheesecake and ate most of it but didn't seem blown away. Requested a kahlua and coffee after dinner and was told they didn't have Kahlua...even though a Chocolate Martini (including Kahlua) is a featured After Dinner Cocktail. We were seated in what seemed like a banquet room at a hotel - industrial carpet on the floor and an accordion-type closure separating the next dining space. No art on the wall, just a flat screen tv (which was off) I guess I was expecting something else from the stellar Yelp reviews. Maybe we hit them on an off night? Definitely spent more than I felt like I got but service was friendly. Would not return.
My family of 6 is full of picky eaters, but there was something here for everyone! We all had clean plates by the end because everything was so delicious! The pot roast and garlic green beans were so good! We also had desserts. The creme brulee was amazing and the perfect size for one. The prices weren’t outrageous either. Good quality food for good prices. We’ll definitely return!
Aaron was our waiter and he was marvelous! He was easy to hear and understand despite the mask and loud tables of people. I wear a hearing aid and this is the first time since we’ve had to wear masks that I could understand the waiter! He made wonderful recommendations and we enjoyed our meal as always!
My husband and I had a quick getaway weekend to Chattanooga. We love Public House because the food is upscale but at a great price.
Excellent venue, top notch food, drink and atmosphere.
All in all ? Always great!
Food great. Had a hiccup, manager on it,explained everything and fixed it.
What I really want to talk about is our server. Absolutely fabulous! Didn't get his name, but on top of everything. Absolutely everything, with the air of this was his everyday. Thank you so much!
Absolutely fantastic experience. Food was amazing, friendly staff, and great Atmosphere!!
OUr favorite restaurant in Chattanooga. We drive from Atlanta just to go to dinner!
This is a good place to take friends - plenty of choices on the menu, we ate outside and it was very comfortable. Service staff very polite
Amazing food. Friendly and helpful staff!
We were with another couple for dinner on Thursday. The waiter, Jake, that we requested had the night off. Matt was our waiter and did a great job. Everyone at this restaurant is very nice. The quality of the food is very good. I have been there twice in the past week for dinner and had the salmon and my wife order the small filet both times. With different guests, the compliments were the same for the fried chicken, the chicken livers, and the pot roast. I don't believe that you would go wrong ordering anything on the menu. Highly recommend this restaurant and staff.
Always great food and service!
Great dinner! Food was awesome. Service great! Had a very quiet table. Loved it all!!
Service and food is always right! Never had a bad meal there. The servers are attentive and knowledgeable.
Public House was very good. The food was very good and our waitress very knowledgeable about the menu.
Our experience was great! Terrific service, outstanding food, and very large portion sizes.
Best meal I have had in a long time! Salmon club, pimento cheese and friend pickles. Fresh ingredients and homemade ranch.
Traveling through Chattanooga and had dinner with wife and granddaughter. Food was very good, service was great. Nice restaurant. Would definitely go again when in Chattanooga.
We arrived about 2 pm on Friday for lunch. The restaurant was quiet which was nice. The grilled bread that came out with the pimento cheese was not hot. It had obviously been sitting for a while. I ordered Fried Chicken which was delicious but again not so hot. Same with the mashed potatoes and brussels and jalapeño cheddar muffins. I realize it was the end of the lunch hour, but still expect the food to be served fresh and hot. Service was quite slow as well although they were not busy.
