Great entree selections and prices. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We had friendly and attentive waitstaff. This was our second time eating here and they haven’t disappointed us yet.
Excellent, quick service. The food all tasted well but initially my steak came out very cold but they fixed it quickly. Good desserts too. Depending on what you order it can get a bit pricey.
My wife and I went for an early dinner in advance of another commitment. We were seated almost immediately and our server arrived promptly. The food was first rate. My wife had a salmon main dish while I had a small plate of scallops (3) and an arugula side salad. We shared an awesome peanut butter pie for dessert. The only weak link was the before dinner cocktails which were nothing special. That said, we will definitely return.
Public House is our favorite.
We came in for a later reservation but just seemed like they were ready to get us out of there. The food was pretty good but the Brussels sprouts were over charred and had no flavor :(
Loved public house! We sat in the bar area due to no reservations. It was great. They have round comfy booths you can sit at and talk. The sautéed trout and NY strip were both amazing, as was the pimento cheese dip. Will definitely go back!
Food was delicious! Service was great. Ambiance very cute
Food (pork tenderloin and trout)was exceptional! This was a stop in a road trip. A last second “find”, but if I’m ever in Chatanooga again, I’ll make a point of returning
Great service. Great food. Recommend the grits.
The food was very good and I was particularly impressed by the number of classic cocktails that the bartender was familiar with. My sazarac was fantastic.
We had a great time celebrating a birthday here. Food was excellent, service was great and the building is really neat! Would definitely go back
We had a great experience. The food was fantastic. This will always be on our list when visiting Chattanooga.
Love going to Public House. The food is great and service was too.
Wanted a quality dinner before attending White Christmas. Reservations at 5pm was seated within 10 minutes. Waiter was excellent with suggestions. The trout and salmon both were perfect. A must is the key lime pie or the chocolate cheesecake. We will return. Thanks to the entire staff.
Wonderful food and service!
Glad we had made a reservation, because 6:30PM dinner is insanely busy. Our waiter was new and overly attentive, but he was also rather adorable so we forgave him. I had been wanting to try Carolina trout - and the description sounded great. Overall, the flavor was good and the fish was moist, but crisp skin got soggy quickly, as it was laid on a bed of sautéed cabbage. I was disappointed to have to scrape it away. My husband had the cobb salad and pronounced it quite good.
I'm pretty sure there was a screw up in the kitchen, because several parties came and left while we waited for our food. Fish and salad should not take an hour! But we were mellow and the waiter thanked us for our patience when he brought the bill.
Went there with my boyfriend for his birthday and we had an excellent time! They really went above and beyond and wrote him a birthday card and gave us a complimentary dessert! I was very impressed and glad they made him feel special. The food was amazing. The cocktails were good as well. Will definitely be back!
Consistently great food and service. Nice variety of menu items prepared with fresh, high quality ingredients.
Great food, great service, great place!
Have been to Chattanooga twice and both times have had delicious meals at the Public House!
This place is the best! We ordered an appetizer, entree and dessert and everything was amazing. The atmosphere and wait staff made for a great evening. Highly reccomend the fried chicken!
Good food, good service, ample portions as an easy walk from the Convention Center
Awesome food and service!
Loved every part of the meal and service, from the appetizer to the dessert.
I make a point to stop by Public House every time I'm in Chattanooga. This time, I finally tried the stuffed quail and was thoroughly impressed with both the presentation and flavor. I want to branch out and try new things on the menu, but the fried chicken is so good it's hard to resist ordering it every time. It's too cold now, but the wrap-around front porch is a great spot to enjoy a meal during the spring and summer. If you're in Chattanooga, do yourself a favor and eat at Public House.
Went to dinner for our anniversary and the restaurant literally blew our minds (Yes I know that its not 'literally'). They had a hand written note waiting on us, the manager came over to check on our table, and kelly (our server) was as good as it gets. Thank you for the amazing experience!!
I had not been here in years and was hapoy we chose to try it again. Food and service were great.
We really enjoy this restraunt after a day at the theater.
Great local place on the river for seafood. Friendly staff, great food! go!
Awful! Visiting from Louisville for hubby’s bday. Ordered the fish special which was served over jambalaya. I love spicy foods with a little heat but the jambalaya tasted like someone dumped a container of cayenne in it. Hubby’s scallops were the same way. When we gave feedback to the waiter, he didn’t know how to handle the situation and took almost 10 minutes for him to bring back a manager to our table. She was kind and replaced jambalaya. However, the poor service continued when it took forever to get a glass of wine and the server gave hubby’s cocktail to another table. This server had no attention to detail and no sense of urgency. And finally, when I booked the reservation, knowing it was hubby’s bday, they gave him a $10 gift certificate for his next visit. Really? You can give it to someone else as we will not return on future trips to Chattanooga.
Food was delicious and appreciated it was kid friendly. They bring a “first course” and dessert for the kids. I got the salmon and it was cooked perfectly. Several locals recommended Public House and glad we made the stop.
Wonderful. Highly recommend
Great dood and ambiance. Always a great experience there.
Cordial and courteous host greeted us and was knowledgeable about foods on the menu. Food was awesome and we will definitely drive from Atlanta again to enjoy this restaurant and it’s neighbor.
Consistently good. Service is great, food is tasty.
My husband and I had our anniversary dinner here while visiting Chattanooga, and overall, we really enjoyed our experience! I made the reservation and we were seated upon arrival. The service was a little slow and our server wasn’t overly attentive, but the food was definitely worth the wait. I had the pork tenderloin and my husband had the fried chicken. Both were delicious! I mentioned on the reservation that it was our anniversary, and they went above and beyond to make our night special. We will definitely come back next time we are in the area.
Outstanding dinner! We had the pork Loin and chicken marsala special, and both were excellent! The Mac and cheese was the best I've ever had, and I'm a conniseur. The mashed potatoes were great, and the soup (spinach potato) was out of this world! Carrot cake was the perfect ending! We love in Nashville but will eat here again when visiting the Chattanooga area!
Very impressed with the food and service. I wish we had a place we liked this much in Atlanta. They go above and beyond. The app and the entrees were incredible! Won’t forget this place.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the Public House. I ordered the Fried Chicken. Was delicious and a very generous serving. My husband had the salmon and it was also very good. Didn't have room at the end of dinner for dessert, but didn't keep me from getting a piece of the peanut butter pie to go to eat later back at the hotel. Was fabulous.
We come to Chattanooga about once a year and Public House is a "must" on our itinerary. Whether for lunch, brunch or dinner, the food is excellent, using quality ingredients, creative recipes and perfectly executed. We love the ambiance and decor. The waiting staff is excellent, positive, upbeat and so friendly. Do not miss this place!
The dishes that we enjoyed on our recent dinner visit and highly recommend include the smoked trout spread (appetizer), steak and frites, grilled beef, duck confit with butternut squash, to go with their excellent wine selection.
