Excellent service. Will be back again with my family.
Great food, service and ambience. Enjoyed our evening very much.
Waiter was very professional and food was outstanding
Great service and really good food! Fun environment, would definitely recommend.
Thank you very good nice decor great service delicious barata
Happy hour prices were reasonable.
All of the staff, especially Grant, were very attentive and friendly.
Delicious appetizers , try the Arancini, delicious!
The performer was really great. Many people were singing along, and some dancing on the patio!
Overall we had an wonderful time and will definitely be back!
The food is amazing !
The appetizers were amazing. Pasta was very heavy on the sauce. Pizza dough was very tough but tomato sauce was tasty. The music playing has a heavy metal station. Really took away from the experience. Server was new and didn’t have a lot of answers to our questions but she did come back with the information.
Amazing food , service and awesome general dining experience
Can’t wait for the upstairs patio to be open. We really enjoyed our happy hour and dinner.
Service was fantastic
All of the staff, especially David Nixon, were attentive and checked on our table regularly. Everyone was very happy and pleasant and our meal was very good.
Family from out of town
Food is not bad, but unmemorable and soul-less. Service was good. Can-con classic rock music made for bad ambience. Expensive for what it is. Will not return.
We had a lovely evening. Good was delicious, service was excellent.
Will definitely go back and recommend to others.
Thank you Publico staff.
Excellent food. Patio was great! Service was amazing. Will be going back for sure.
Unfortunately this is NOT authentic Italian. Great service though and nice enough place. But the food is not worth the price. But thanks for being friendly - good service goes a long way. Just need to work more on the taste and flavours! 👍
Hello, Thank you for your feed back. I'm sorry you feel that we do not serve Authentic Italian Cuisine.. The items on our menu come from several regions, I can assure you they are authentic. We worked hard on developing menu items from all over the 20 regions of Italy. As we move towards the third phase of reopening, it has been difficult to source some items due to Covid. Hope to see you back once everything is 100% open.
It's always a fun experience at Pubblico. Great staff, amazing food, and a beautiful environment. A wonderful place to spend time with friends.
Thank you so much for the review:) We love our restaurant.. excited for our future:)
The atmosphere, food presentation, quality, service, and overall dining experience was outstanding. Deserving of a Michelin Star!
Thank you so much for your review, can't wait to have you back:)
Overall the service felt a bit clumsy but this was day one after Covid shutdowns so we’ll see on the next go. Food was very tasty and the cocktails were outstanding. My only complaint was the Gnocchi Aragosta. The appetizers and salad were very good.
Never disappoints. First Friday after third wave lockdown, place was hopping but the service was top notch. Wine was fabulous, food delicious. Can’t wait to go back.
Thank you thank you!!! we are just getting back to our regular routine.. Hopefully nice reviews like this will keep us going:)
Me and my boyfriend had an amazing experience at Pubblico. Our server was very friendly and made some awesome suggestions. The food and wine was absolutely delicious and I will definitely be coming back next time I visit Calgary. I can't wait to tell my family and friends in edmonton about this restaurant. Definitely giving this place 5 stars!!!!
Fantastic patio!! Food and cocktails are awesome.
Service was not as pleasant as experienced before. Food was not warm, drinks were not cold. Vibes weren’t as energetic.
Nice place, good food. Waitress was also friendly. I would definitely recommend it but it's a bit pricey
This was my girlfriend and myself first time dining here. It was incredible. The service was topnotch and the food was amazing. Great portion sizes for what you pay for as well. We will most definitely be back!
It was Wednesday so it was 1/2 priced Wine and Pizza night. Both were great. Sat on the patio and had a great evening.
Great food and service in a comfortable setting. Terrific patio. Highly recommended.
We have mixed reviews of our experience.
The start of the evening was very off-putting.
We had a reservation, through open table. The manager acted as though we did not have a reservation and that were walk ups expecting a table out of the blue. The experience was very confusing as we did have a reservation and it was showing on their reservation screen. The manager was extremely rude during what should be a greeting to the restaurant.
We had reserved a patio seat (as per the covid recommendations), we were later offered a seat inside the restaurant....
There were open tables on the patio, the manager said the tables for were reservations ( we did have a reservation) honestly felt like we were being filmed on a spoof show, kept looking for a camera.
I personally wanted to just walk away.
My friend insisted we still try it out... I complied because it was Friday and I really wanted a drink.
Our server was great, Courtney, she redeemed the night for us.
If you want to try somewhere where the management makes you feel like an inconvenience, this is your spot.
The sad part is that he has a son who works there and he has trained him to be just as rude as him.
Outstanding food, especially the prosciutto burrata
Amazing, amazing, amazing service and food! Don’t wait book your reservation now
We took the family for a nice dinner just before the latest COVID lockdown. The restaurant had all tables occupied and we were lucky to have reservations. We were more than pleasantly delighted by the generous portions and rich flavours. We had appetizers, pizza and the seafood pastas. Server was knowledgeable and entertaining too. Recommend Publico Italian and conveniently located
Service was great as usual. Loved the burrata. Our daughter had the pizza off the kids menu and it’s really good as well. We will definitely order take out during this next shut down.
We used to rave about this place with the previous menu. We remembered some stand-out dishes like the goat cheese stuffed zucchini flowers and the boar ragout pasta (I think it was a ravioli).
So after coming back to Pubblico with my wife for the first time since the new menu we were excited. Having said this, we were warned by 2 other couples that Pubblico had gone downhill since the new menu. Regardless, we decided to give it a try. We noticed the menu was a lot more traditional; the menu had less flare and simpler pastas which was not necessarily a bad thing. After all, taste is king.
First course we got the pepperoni pizza. Unfortunately, the crust was just not up to par; it was cardboardy and too thick for a traditional Italian pizza. You just cannot expect to put out a good italian pizza if you don't have a brick oven.
Second course, we had the Lobster Gnocchi. Not many positive things to saw. First off, there was only a handful of gnocchi and they were absolutely swimming in sauce. "Would you like some pasta with your sauce" is what we said to each other. Unfortunately, there was lobster detritus in the sauce. Gritty lobster shell, tendon, and tons of that transparent shell that exists between the lobster meat and exterior shell. We couldn't take a bit without getting some foreign lobster grit in our mouths.
Lastly, we ordered the boar chop. Now, I'm not a stickler for service but the pasta (primi course) and the boar (secondi course) both came out at the same time. Anyone who appreciates fine italian dining knows that primi and secondi come subsequently and not at the same time. We were put off by that as our boar chop went cold as we ate our gnocchi. Anyways, the boar chop was fine. It was served with a gorgonzola demi over some vegetables. There were no complaints; everything was cooked fine but having said this, a boar chop is an easy piece of meat to make shine. This dish was too simple.
I would come again if the owners got the old chef back.
Great meal and service. A real gem in the Marda Loop neighborhood.
Amazing food! The gnocchi was amazing! My husband loved the pizza
It was a nice evening. The food was excellent!
I highly recommend dining at Pubblico. My girlfriend and i found the attention provided by our server Jeremy to be friendly and intuitive, getting us what we needed just as we needed it. The food was flavourful, filling and with flair. I would definitely return to soak in more of the intimate ambience that this establishment has to offer. Great date choice!
Excellent service, timely delivery of courses from kitchen, manager checks with the clients and cares about you experience
Have never been disappointed at Pubbico. Food and service ALWAYS excellent.
We went on a Wed. which is 1/2 price pizza night - delicious. Will be back again soon!
