Pubblico Italian Eatery
Good food but really slow and inconsistent service
I lived in Italy for 2 years and I can say that their food is not like the very Italian food. It is extremely expensive. Dishes look very attractive but taste is not that good. My artichokes were not fresh but in conserve. The pasta hadn't any taste (you have to add parmesan to make it more eatable), chicken was just an ordinary chicken... All for 32 bucks. Sincerely, this is a place for people that don't know what is the very good Italian food (and good food in general). Ambiance instead was really nice in the terrace (inside is very noisy) and service was also very kind.
Great restaurant. Can't wait to go back.
This was our first time at Pubblico, a restaurant I’d been wanting to try. It was ‘OK’. Nothing special. There was nothing terrible about it - but nothing special either. With all the other available restaurants in-town, I’m not sure I’d bother to go back.
Fantastic food and great service. Can’t ask for more.
Awesome gem! Delicious food, excellent staff!
Outstanding food and service
This is a nice neighbor eatery but nothing special at all. Homemade pasta was mushy. Chicken marsala was both tasteless and chewy. Linguini with clams was prepared with a very overbearing broth/sauce as opposed to, say, and olive oil and wine preparation. Service was fine. Prices are high for this lowly quality food. How this place gets such high ratings amazes me.
What a lovely meal we had in a hip setting. The food and service were excellent. Look for the restaurant behind what is on 7th Street. It's tucked in the by the back parking lot.
I had a reservation for the patio and when I arrived they told me they didn't have any tables available on patio. It would be another 30-60 min to wait for table. What was the purpose of my reservation? Also, the food was not as good as it was when it first opened. Not sure why.
We loved the atmosphere....brought out of country guests here and they loved it. Our waiter was excellent and we loved that the manager came by to see how things were. The food was outstanding.
We will definitely be back....!!
Outstanding service... owner stopped to talk to us! Food was totally the best! Home made pasta! Excellent! Great happy hour and prices! An outstanding stop!!!!
We had a difficult time finding the restaurant but we enjoyed our dinner once we found the restaurant. We suggest that the wine list be upgraded at some point, but otherwise just keep up the good work on the food. Thank you.
This was a surprising new find in the central corridor. You have to go around back to the original crown imports bldg. and there you will find it.
Husband and I enjoyed the great food and the fun cocktails. Great place for date night or meet up with friends.
Go! or you will miss out on a real jewel.
Thank you to the owner and waiter, Bernardo, for such a great service. The food was great!
Shrimp was a little bit to done.
Our second visit. We love the food and the very personal service. A hidden gem
Food was delicious, portions were excellent, prices were reasonable, and service was very good.
Bernardo was our waiter. Sat on patio. Made reservation on short notice. Would go again.
The best in town! Love everything about Pubblico from the food to the service to the ambiance. A great addition to the north Central neighborhood!
Really great Italian food!!!! The lasagna was nice and light! The sangria was very flavorful. We had great service. Glad we found this gem.
I'm sorry to report that our party of 4 did not enjoy their meal. The lighting is way too dim. The food is pricey so you expect it to be good and it was disappointing. Short run ravioli and beef medallion -the beef was tough in the middle; brick oven margaherita pizza not the best texture and so-so flavor: gluten free seafood pasta...dry, tough seafood, tough noodles calamari app was good, light and not greasy and the foccacia was good: really disappointed
We live in Arcadia and had been told by our North Central friend that we should check this out. We were so happy that we did. Once you find it(it’s hidden in the back to the east of 7th street) you will enjoy the atmosphere and the food. Worth the drive.
Great food and the owner makes you feel very welcome.
Highly recommend this restaurant
I really wanted to like this place. But, there were some problems.
Let’s say I’m picky about an Italian eatery since I spend every summer in Italy. Please educate the servers on how to pronounce Italian menu items, wine choices etc. slow down a bit on the food service! Our food came to the table so fast, we would have liked to have ordered another drink and enjoy our appetizer. When you ask for meatballs on the side, do not add them to the entree plate. AND there wasn’t espresso! I mean, you’ve got to have espresso.
The flourless chocolate torte was full of nuts making it chewy and not having a smooth texture. Cheers to the bartender because my aperol spritz was on point and they did have amaro.
I don’t think we will go back there’s just too many better Italian cafes in town.
Jose our server was delightful. The menu has lots of options.
Super service and food was serviced hot. Food was excellent. I ordered lasagna and it was flavorful, meaty, and very tasty. All pasta is made in house. Highly recommend.
We went here for Valentines and it was delicious. We would highly recommend the Lobster Ravioli and Chicken Parmesan. Looking forward to coming back as there were many things on the menu that looked delicious !
Great place to celebrate Valentine’s Day or any day! We loved it! Our server, Bernardo, was excellent as he was attentive and informative.
Food was decent (not great) but the ambiance and hospitality were absolutely amazing. Next time I go I’ll try a different item on the menu and hope it’s better.
My family of four came for a birthday lunch for my pasta loving child. Service was all around outstanding. Friendly, helpful and sincere. My cocktail was delicious! The appetizers were all yummy. I am the only one that did not eat pasta. My arugula salad with fennel was well seasoned with the right amount of dressing. I had the beef tenderloin with risotto. The beef was cooked perfectly. The risotto tasted great but the texture was not creamy. The birthday child had the lasagna and thoroughly enjoyed it. The other two really liked their pasta dishes. The restaurant offers a free birthday dessert so he had the amaretto torte and loved it. The rest of us shared the tiramisu which was light, fluffy and oh-so yummy.
Bernie (Server) is awesome!!! Such an asset to this place.
Service was awesome the minute we walked in the door! Food delicious. We were fortunate to be there for happy hour!
This was our third visit to Pubblico. My husband and I have ordered a different meal each visit and every meal has been fantastic. They are very accommodating and will substitute to your liking - ie, switch red sauce for cream sauce or one protein for another. The servers have all been terrific. The only criticism is that for these prices there should be bread on the table without charge and maybe even a small salad. The only thing keeping us from dining here more frequently is the price point.
Everything was spot on and all in our party thoroughly enjoyed their meal.
This was my first time at Pubblico. The food for all 4 of us was outstanding. The service was excellent. One of the reasons we came, in addition to the food, was that my wife had been there a couple of times and was very happy it was quiet.
As it happened, Tuesday was band night, so it wasn't quiet. The band was actually very good, but we came to be able to talk and listen to our friends. Overall, we will definitely plan to return, but maybe just be sure it's not band night
We were pleasantly surprised. This was our first time at Pubblico. We like the ambiance (it was a quiet Sunday night so it was laid back). The cocktails and wine were all great and the food was wonderful. The seafood risotto, lobster ravioli, rigatoni, chicken piccata and margarita pizza were all a hit. We will be back again sooner than later.
I have been wanting to try this place out for awhile and I was finally able to. I will say that I was definitely not disappointed. First I will say the restaurant itself is located in the back not on the main road so it can be a bit confusing. It is on the small side but is very cozy and has a great little patio area for outdoor seating. I tried the lamb chops and they were simply divine. They were cooked perfectly and just overall wonderful. They were served with mashed potatoes and green beans which came in just the right portion size. The staff was friendly and the service just right. I wouldn't hesitate to go here again for a great Italian meal.
Date night and everything was perfect! Edgar mixed a great pair of cocktails and dinner was superb: I had osso bucco ravioli with a small filet and a scallop on top and the girl had the sea bass. Paired with a perfect white wine and some grilled. Dessert was flourless chocolate cake. Fan the the owner dropped by to say hi and it was a wonderful evening.
